"This person is indeed a general. I have looked closely, and the figure in the mural is the same as the one in the coffin. However, I don't understand what his identity is," Mo Ming seemed to recall something and furrowed his brows as he asked Liufeng, "Have they finished cleaning up the scene? If Lord returns, they won't stand a chance!"
"Don't worry, boss. Before I came down, they had already cleared the scene. I told them to stay alert around here and notify us at the first sign of trouble. There shouldn't be any issues," Liufeng replied, meticulous in his thoughts. He didn't believe that Lord could silently kill off Nü and the others.
"That's good," Mo Ming nodded slightly, feeling reassured.
"Boss, you're amazing! You just said he and the person in the mural are the same? You can tell what he looks like from this pile of bones? I'm really impressed!" Crocodile gave a thumbs-up, but it was definitely not out of admiration; it was more of a sneer.
Crocodile did not believe that Mo Ming could identify a person from bones!
After saying that, Crocodile glanced into the coffin, and his smile immediately froze. He probably didn't expect that ancient people's preservation techniques could reach such a profound level.
"Damn, this guy can't have just laid down here, right? But then again, this ancient tomb must have been around for quite some time," before Crocodile could speak, Poisonous Madness widened his eyes and said incredulously. Anyone who saw this would be equally shocked; such preservation techniques might be achievable in modern times, but in ancient times, it was an extraordinary feat!
"Believe it or not, this is a fact! I truly admire ancient Chinese people; their preservation techniques can reach such heights!" Crocodile sighed.
"Heh heh, this is just an exception. If ancient people had such good preservation techniques, it would surely have been passed down. However, none of the discovered ancient tombs have preserved bodies so completely. From the mural, it shows that the tomb owner saw a meteor fall one night and smiled while holding it before being buried with it. I think his preservation must be related to that stone," Mo Ming shared his thoughts after some contemplation.
"I disagree with you on that. What if this tomb owner really had special preservation techniques? Can a stone really preserve a body? Is it made of mercury?" Su Yu countered.
"Preservation doesn't necessarily mean it's mercury. Look at those two statues beside you; they were also sculpted after death and are preserved!" Mo Ming smiled slightly at Su Yu's disdainful expression.
Upon hearing Mo Ming's words, Su Yu shivered involuntarily and instinctively took a few steps back, probably feeling it was somewhat cruel and disgusting. "Alright, let's hurry out of here. I need to report this situation up top!"
"Heh heh, I've seen what I needed to see. Staying here is bad luck; I won't linger. However, I suggest you quickly take a picture of this tomb owner with your phone," Mo Ming said with a smile.
"Why?" Su Yu asked in confusion.
"The owner of this tomb has already started to decay. Can't you smell the rotten stench? It's awful! I'm leaving now. If you like it here, Su Beauty, you can stay by yourself!" Mo Ming waved his hand in front of his nose, a slight smirk on his lips, and turned to leave.
In fact, Mo Ming deduced that the stone had preservative properties not just from the murals, but because he observed that the tomb owner had begun to rot.
It was quite coincidental that the decay began right after the stone left this chamber, indicating that the body could remain so well-preserved due to the stone's preservative effects.
"Su Beauty, we are leaving too." The crocodile chuckled and followed Mo Ming out, while Poisonous Madness and Liufeng glanced around casually before turning to leave as well.
"Hey, wait for me!" Su Yu hurriedly pulled out her phone from her pocket and snapped a photo of the tomb owner before rushing out after them.
Despite Su Yu being quite capable, she was still a woman. In other situations, she might not have felt too scared, but being in a tomb felt strange. The scent of bronze gave her a chilling sensation. Seeing that Mo Ming and the others had already left, she didn't dare to stay alone.
Once outside, Mo Ming took Yin Jiu's body to find Mourning Lion, while Liufeng and the others returned to the secret base of the Dragon Group. Su Yu mentioned that the Dragon Group could help find experts in pharmaceuticals to identify the substances in the drugs taken by those Foreigners, so Mo Ming decided to leave it to them.
In a sense, the Dragon Group was now aligned with Mo Ming. He didn't mind involving them in future actions since the Dragon Group was one of the most mysterious and powerful organizations in Huaxia. With their assistance, navigating through Huaxia would be much smoother.
...
Mo Ming parked his car at the entrance of Sanhe Entertainment City. After a while, Mourning Lion walked out alone and directly got into Mo Ming's car. Upon entering, he couldn't help but be startled.
Yin Jiu's body was right behind the car!
To prevent Yin Jiu's corpse from decaying too quickly, Mo Ming had turned on the air conditioning in the car to control the temperature around it.
"Heh heh, Lion Boss, you've got blood on your hands. You shouldn't be so shocked by a corpse," Mo Ming said with a slight smile at Mourning Lion.
After collecting himself, Mourning Lion raised an eyebrow and climbed into the car, closing the door behind him. "I've killed plenty of people; corpses don't scare me. However, seeing the body of that ruthless old fox, Yin Jiu, is indeed shocking. I didn't expect you to actually take his life."
"For me, it's not difficult to kill someone, as long as I know where they are," Mo Ming said lightly. "Lion Boss, Yin Jiu and Wen Bao are already dead. I estimate that if the people from Hong Gang find out about this news, they definitely won't stay calm. Your only competitor should be Black Tiger, right?"
"Within Hong Gang, aside from Black Tiger, no one else is qualified to compete with me!" Mourning Lion nodded.
"Then it's simple. As long as you eliminate Black Tiger, you will become the leader of Hong Gang!" Mo Ming said with a calm smile.
"Are you planning to frame Black Tiger and then let me take over as leader? Actually, your goal has already been achieved; Yin Jiu is dead, and you have no need to help me. May I ask why you still want to assist me?" Mourning Lion squinted his eyes, unable to grasp Mo Ming's intentions.
With Mo Ming's strength and background, is it necessary to please him?
Mourning Lion was a smart man and didn't believe in free lunches; everyone essentially lives for the value of being utilized, yet he couldn't figure out what value he had that could be exploited!
"Indeed, Yin Jiu is dead, and my goal has been achieved. However, the battle is still ongoing, and I need allies. You are someone worth cooperating with!" Mo Ming stated straightforwardly.
"On what basis do you think I'm worth cooperating with? Aren't you afraid I might be bought off by the other side?" Mourning Lion smirked wickedly.
"Intuition. My intuition tells me that you are someone worth cooperating with because you are a smart person. I prefer to work with intelligent people," Mo Ming said while smiling at Mourning Lion. "I wonder if Lion Boss has any interest in collaborating with me? I can guarantee that working with me will make Hong Gang safer; at least the higher-ups won't take drastic measures against Hong Gang!"
"Heh, interesting. Intuition?" Mourning Lion chuckled. "I can help you, but not because you promised to keep Hong Gang safe; rather, it's because you and I are the same kind of people..."
After a pause, Mourning Lion finally uttered a few words: "Soldiers!"
"You were a soldier?" Mo Ming frowned slightly, clearly surprised. The information about Mourning Lion did not mention that he had once been a soldier. However, Mo Ming quickly figured it out; Mourning Lion must be a pawn placed in Hong Gang by the military.
Black and white cannot be separated.
The existence of darkness must be constrained by light. Mourning Lion is the one who restricts the presence of darkness. He retired from the military under orders, changed his name, and infiltrated the murky underground of the city, embedding himself within gangs, all to gain control over Hong Gang's decision-making power, thereby limiting the actions of the dark side.
"From your expression, you should have understood. I won't elaborate further. I was close to completing my mission initially, but then Yin Jiu's sudden appearance completely disrupted my plans. I had to endure, lie low, and wait for the right moment until you showed up. I realized the opportunity had come, and indeed, you did not disappoint me."
"Then let me give you a hand in completing your mission," Mo Ming said with a slight smile directed at Mourning Lion.
"What do you plan to frame Black Tiger for?" Mourning Lion asked.
"Very simple. I can sneak into Hong Gang's headquarters without anyone noticing, place Yin Jiu's body there, and then call Black Tiger over. By the time he discovers Yin Jiu is dead, it will be too late!" Mo Ming revealed a sinister smile. "It's another way of using someone as a tool for murder—simple and effective!"
"Can I say that our thoughts align?" Mourning Lion said as he turned the iron ring on his right thumb, a smile gradually spreading across his face.
Mo Ming shrugged and replied with a grin, "I have no doubt that Lion Boss possesses such intelligence. Now, let's not waste any more time and get this sorted out!"
"Then let's go. On the way, I hope you can tell me more about that mysterious organization. After all, we are in the same boat now; I can't afford to be unaware of our enemy's situation," Mourning Lion nodded with a smile.
"I'll inform you of the main details," Mo Ming nodded slightly and started the car, speeding towards Hong Gang's headquarters.
