“Miss Edith!” Hank's eyes ignited with fury as he shouted, “You bastard, Shura, let the lady go! If you harm her in any way, I will bury all of you here!”
“Haha, who do you think you are? You sure have a big mouth!” Mo Ming mocked. “You want to bury us here? Here’s your chance—let them shoot. I’ll take your lady down to hell with me.”
“You're a terrifying demon, a madman; she is innocent!” Hank trembled with rage but dared not make any move.
From this, it was clear what the girl's status was here. Mo Ming had indeed captured the right person this time. With her help, escaping from Reed's lair would not be a problem.
“Hahaha... Innocent? What does innocent even mean? People act for themselves; at this moment, talking so much nonsense is pointless, understand? Who in this world is innocent? Do you dare say your hands aren’t stained with the blood of innocents?”
Mo Ming's eyes were filled with killing intent, and a sinister smile crept across his lips, giving off an unsettling feeling. He tightened his grip, causing Reed to show signs of discomfort and struggle to breathe.
“Bastard, let Miss Edith go!” Hank roared as he saw Edith's pained expression, fear filling his eyes.
“Mind your tone; your lady's life is in my hands now. So instead of speaking to me like a commander, you should kneel like a obedient dog and beg me to spare her.”
Mo Ming's gaze sharpened with murderous intent, and the wicked curve of his smile deepened as he tightened his grip on Edith's neck, lifting her off the ground.
“Do I really need to teach you such things?” His voice was cold and filled with the rage that had erupted from his confinement.
Deprived of food and water, trapped like ants in a dark chamber, enduring the foul stench—how could Mo Ming not be furious?
“Okay, okay, it’s my fault. I know my attitude was wrong; please don’t get worked up. Calm down...”
Seeing Reed on the verge of suffocation, Hank anxiously pressed his palms together and pleaded, “I beg you, just let her go. Whatever demands you have, we can meet them. As long as you don’t harm her, the clan leader will surely agree to your requests.”
"Ha ha, this kind of dog is obedient. My request is not excessive; as long as you let us leave here safely, I can consider sparing him." Mo Ming smiled and relaxed his grip a bit, allowing his heel to touch the ground.
"Uncle Hank... save me..." Edith was just a young girl, still fearful of death. Now, struggling to breathe, she trembled like a frightened little bird.
"Miss Edith, you don't need to be afraid. I promise you'll be fine." Hank reassured Edith and instructed someone nearby, "You hurry and tell the clan leader; it must be done quickly!"
Upon hearing this, the person immediately put away their gun and rushed to inform Reed.
"Does this little matter really require consulting that old fox Reed?" Mo Ming's expression hardened as he said, "Are you trying to buy time?"
As soon as Mo Ming finished speaking, he sensed a killing intent approaching from behind. Seeing Hank's self-satisfied expression, a hint of mockery appeared at the corner of Mo Ming's mouth.
"Boss, be careful! Someone's behind you!" The Lion and others noticed the sudden change and warned Mo Ming in unison.
They had intended to rush out to help Mo Ming, but countless guns were aimed at the entrance. If they charged out now, they would surely be shot down.
In a critical moment, Mo Ming tightened his grip on Edith and swiftly moved aside as a cold light flashed in his eyes.
It was a long katana, its length far exceeding that of the person clad in dark clothing; it was an Eastern Ninja!
The ninja's eyes revealed a hint of shock at Mo Ming's ability to evade his attack, but it was quickly replaced by murderous intent as he launched another assault on Mo Ming.
The Lion stared in disbelief and exclaimed, "Damn, does the boss have eyes on the back of his head? How did he dodge that?"
"Hmph, you dare to show off such trivial skills? You're simply asking for death!" Mo Ming scoffed, his gaze sharpening as he stood his ground and engaged the ninja.
No matter how fierce the ninja's attacks were, Mo Ming was able to evade them. Time and again, attacks nearly struck Edith, but Mo Ming managed to deflect them all.
Now, Edith was his only bargaining chip against Reed. If she were mistakenly killed, this place would truly become a graveyard for him and a few others tonight!
"Yah yah yah, Shadow Clone Technique!"
The ninja, frustrated after multiple failed attempts, turned green with anger. He uttered a phrase in his native language and quickly formed a hand seal, instantly splitting into three identical figures, all charging at Mo Ming.
"Heh, this is the first time I've seen a ninja capable of mastering Ninjutsu to such an extent. Unfortunately, this illusion won't fool me!"
Mo Ming had some understanding of the Ninjutsu from the Land of the Rising Sun; this so-called clone technique was merely an illusion. Among the three figures, only one was the real body!
As the three ninjas closed in simultaneously, a hint of disdain flashed in Mo Ming's eyes. Ignoring the attacks from the other two, he focused on one and launched his own assault.
Sure enough, when the attacks from the two figures made contact with Mo Ming's body, they vanished without a trace—just two clones after all.
"What?" The ninja couldn't believe that Mo Ming could so easily discern his true self. Surprise flickered in his eyes again, but he did not halt his attack; his long katana swung down toward Mo Ming.
If that strike landed, not only would Mo Ming be in danger, but even Edith would be killed. The ninja didn't intend to harm Edith, but in the chaos of battle, he couldn't react in time.
"Stop! Miss Edith will die!" Hank shouted urgently.
As the Katana was about to strike down, Mo Ming quickly pulled Edith aside and kicked out, sending the ninja flying.
The ninja staggered back a few steps, spitting out a mouthful of blood, feeling as if a heavy stone had struck his chest, and half-kneeled on the ground.
"Hmph, just a jumping clown. I was expecting a formidable ninja, but you are nothing special!" Mo Ming said with a hint of mockery at the corner of his mouth.
"You are too arrogant. Hmph, I know I am not your match, but don't get too pleased with yourself. Offending the Heavenly Ninja Group today means you will live in hell from now on!" The ninja, aware of the disparity in strength and now severely injured, dared not continue fighting.
However, more than ten ninjas rushed in from all directions, moving swiftly with their long Katanas drawn, all targeting Mo Ming.
"Enough! Everyone stop!"
A hoarse yet powerful voice came through. Reed approached under the protection of two bodyguards. He glanced at Edith, who was captured by Mo Ming, and said, "Child, do not be afraid. God will bless you; everything will be alright."
"Father..." Edith seemed to see a source of support, and tears that had been held back began to flow uncontrollably.
Mo Ming looked at Reed's arrival with a faint smile and said, "Reed, you finally showed up. Otherwise, I would have thought that even a tiger would not eat its own cubs. Hahaha, I wonder how you will thank me? If it weren't for me, she would have died more than once already."
Reed shot an angry glance at the ninja who had just attacked Mo Ming, clearly displeased that the reckless ninja had almost harmed Edith.
"Shura, if it weren't for you using my daughter as a shield, how could she be in danger?" Reed said in a deep voice. "I originally thought I could capture all of you tonight; I never expected you to escape from the secret chamber."
"Speaking of which, I really have to thank you. If it weren't for your capture of me, I might still be stuck at my bottleneck."
"Mo Ming" said, his gaze suddenly becoming sharp. "Alright, enough of the nonsense. I'm not a cold-blooded person. If you don't want your daughter to die, let me and my brothers go, and I can release her."
"You release her, and I guarantee with my integrity that you and your brothers will leave safely," "Reed" replied calmly.
"Hah, that's not going to work. I can't trust your integrity, Reed." "Mo Ming" mockingly glanced around. "Who knows how many assassins are lurking here if I let your daughter go?"
"Hmph, then what do you want?" "Reed" snorted coldly. "Shura, you've gone too far. Capturing my son Rossi isn't enough; now you're using my daughter as a hostage? You really want to offend the Frank Family?"
"Am I afraid?" "Mo Ming" sneered. "Since I dared to establish the Dragon Soul Gang in Y Country to oppose you, I've never feared the Frank Family!"
"Father..." "Edith" cried, tears streaming down her face as she looked pitifully at "Reed."
Seeing "Edith's" frightened expression softened "Reed's" tone, and he compromised slightly. "Alright, Shura, tell me what it will take for you to release Edith?"
"It's simple. Let me and my brothers go back. Once we are safely away from here, your daughter will be safe," "Mo Ming" said with a faint smile.
"Reed" pondered for a moment, hesitating. After a long while, he finally closed his eyes tightly and made the biggest decision. He waved his hand and said, "Hank, let them go!"
"Chief, if we let them leave like this and they go back on their word and don't release the young lady, what will we do?" "Hank" hurriedly said.
"Let them leave; this is an order!" "Reed" said firmly with his eyes still closed.
Seeing that "Reed" had made up his mind, "Hank" did not dare to oppose him further. He sighed heavily and said, "Everyone stay still; let them leave!"
"This is more like it, Lion, Brother Ye. The host said they won't invite us to the underworld for a tour anymore, so why aren't you coming out quickly? Are you waiting to eat bullets?" Mo Ming joked.
Upon hearing this, Lion and the others came out one after another.
Reed's people glared angrily at Lion and his group, but none dared to make a move. After spending time together, they had developed a brotherly bond. Many of their brothers had died at the hands of Lion and his group tonight, which naturally made them angry, but they didn't dare defy Reed's orders and could only glare in silence.
"Hey, it's useless for you to glare; we’re leaving tonight regardless," Afterimage shrugged, appearing indifferent.
"You go ahead; I'll catch up shortly," Mo Ming said to Lion and the others while observing the restless ninjas around them.
Lion and the others said nothing more and left first. Once they were gone, Mo Ming slowly retreated with Edith.
"Shura, I hope you keep your word. Otherwise, even if it means fighting to the death, I will eliminate the Dragon Soul Gang!" Reed opened his eyes and said solemnly.
Mo Ming smiled and replied, "If you want to fight to the death, I'm always ready. You don't need to worry; as long as I leave safely, I guarantee she will be fine."
After saying this, Mo Ming gradually disappeared from Reed's line of sight.
