At the headquarters of the Dragon Soul Gang, located in a neighborhood previously purchased by Lion, there was a house surrounded by about ten underlings armed with rifles, standing guard with a vigilant demeanor. They were elite members cultivated by the "Yihun", each possessing exceptional skills and top-notch marksmanship.
Currently, many elites from Yihun were lurking around the neighborhood primarily to protect Mo Ming's safety and prevent Reed's people from infiltrating for assassination attempts. This house was used by Mo Ming to imprison those assassins who came to kill him.
Since provoking Reed, Mo Ming had been prepared for defense; otherwise, his life would have already been taken. It must be said that the Trump Card team composed of retired Special Forces trained by Reed was formidable. If Mo Ming had not been cautious, even if he survived, the Dragon Soul Gang would have suffered severe losses.
Those Trump Card team members thought they could act without being detected, unaware that they had walked into a trap set by Mo Ming. Although the Dragon Soul Gang suffered some losses, they managed to capture a few of them alive. Mo Ming preferred not to truly antagonize Reed, as he wanted to leave room for negotiation when asking Reed for Gong Gao Yi in the future.
Mo Ming approached with Lion from a distance. The underlings on guard immediately greeted them with smiles.
"Shura Boss! Brother Lion!"
"How are they? Still refusing to eat?" Mo Ming waved his hand and asked one of the underlings.
The assassins sent by Reed were all stubborn and tough, true to their veteran nature. Even after being locked up for so many days, they still refused to eat. To preserve their lives, Mo Ming had no choice but to force-feed them glucose injections to keep them alive. However, their nutrition was definitely lacking; if this continued, they would all become nothing but skin and bones.
"They still won't eat. They're all very tough; it's difficult to force them to eat. We can only continue giving them glucose injections," the underling shook his head and said. "Shura Boss, do you want to go in and see them?"
"Yes, open the door," Mo Ming replied calmly.
The underling did not ask further questions and immediately took out a key to unlock the door. Mo Ming and Lion walked inside. The interior was not a dark dungeon; it was well-lit. However, this house had been modified into a prison-like facility with six floors, each containing six rooms. The doors of each room were made of newly forged artificial steel; without specialized cutting tools, it would be impossible to break through.
Each floor was guarded by two underlings; attempting an escape would essentially be suicide. Upon seeing Mo Ming and Lion arrive, the underlings greeted them with smiles. Mo Ming simply responded with a smile and led Lion directly up to the top floor.
"Boss, the information Jessica found shows that the person named Stephen on this floor had significant achievements during his time in Y Country's military; he should be quite a leader," Lion pointed to a room at the end of the corridor and said to Mo Ming. "He's in there. I noticed him during our previous encounter because he stood out, so I had him isolated."
Mo Ming did not speak as he walked toward Stephen's room. Upon reaching the door, he entered a code, and as soon as the door opened, a wave of murderous intent filled the air. With the naked eye, a fist came crashing toward Mo Ming.
"Ha ha, you really want to kill me at all times, don't you?" Mo Ming stood calmly, while the Lion had already reacted and threw a punch. Their fists collided, with the Lion gaining the upper hand, causing Stephen to stagger back.
The Lion stepped into the room first. There, he saw Stephen, who had been imprisoned for a long time, looking scruffy and somewhat haggard. However, his eyes had turned unusually bloodshot. Stephen roared, "Ah!" and immediately moved closer to the Lion, launching an attack.
"Hmph, after being imprisoned for so long, you still haven't lost your edge?" The Lion scoffed coldly, dodging Stephen's attack. He grabbed Stephen's shoulder and swung his fist like a hammer into Stephen's stomach several times.
"Ah..."
Stephen was already extremely weak from starvation. Now, after taking several punches from the Lion's hammer-like fists, he rolled his eyes back. Seeing this, Mo Ming quickly intervened, stopping the Lion with a wry smile and saying, "You need to change your temper. It was just a sneak attack; he didn't even succeed. Why get so angry? If you keep hitting him like this, he might die."
"Hmph, who told him to act so lowly? He really deserves a beating!" The Lion finally released Stephen and pushed him onto the bed, warning him, "You silly bull, you'd better behave. If you charge at me with that bullheadedness again, I'll kill you!"
Indeed, Stephen was a silly bull. Even in his current state, he still had that fearless attitude. He disregarded the Lion's warning and sneered, "Ha ha, if you have the guts, go ahead and kill me. I've lived most of my life facing death; do you think I'm afraid of dying?"
"Damn it, you want to die?" The Lion shouted angrily as he stepped forward. "I'll help you with that! It's nothing big; in your current state, I could crush you with one hand—worthless!"
Mo Ming quickly blocked the Lion; otherwise, he would have really killed him. Stephen still had some use left, and Mo Ming didn't want him dead just yet. Looking at the furious Lion, he smiled wryly and said, "Calm down; don't forget our purpose today. This guy's life isn't worth much, but I still need him for now."
"Damn it! If you hadn't reminded me, I almost forgot! This guy is truly despicable; just seeing him makes me want to kill him. I nearly overlooked that we have business to attend to." The Lion finally calmed down and did not attack Stephen but continued to curse his ancestors.
"Are you the leader of the Dragon Soul Gang known as Shura?" Stephen was slightly taken aback. He initially thought the Lion was Shura himself but now realized that the young man beside him could convince the Lion. He then bitterly smiled and said, "I never expected that the leader of the Dragon Soul Gang would be just a wet-behind-the-ears kid. It's laughable that we overlooked you!"
"Overlooked me?" Mo Ming smiled lightly.
Stephen self-deprecatingly chuckled and said, "Once when I was out investigating, I saw you in a bar all alone. If I had known back then that you were Shura, you probably wouldn't be alive now!"
"Oh, I didn't expect my appearance to be memorable to you. It seems I'm still quite handsome," Mo Ming scoffed and said, "If I had nothing to do, I usually like to go to nightclubs alone for a drink. It's not surprising that you saw me, but do you think if you had acted back then, you would still be alive now?"
"A kid like Little Mao, what's so scary about him!" Stephen was instantly enraged by Mo Ming's disdain. As he stood up, Mo Ming quickly lifted a foot and slammed Stephen against the wall. Given that Stephen was already weak and received a heavy blow from Mo Ming, he fainted immediately.
"Damn it, boss, weren't you just stopping me?" Lion silently mourned for Stephen. He had experienced Mo Ming's strength before; even with his robust physique, he could barely withstand a kick. How could someone like the already weakened Stephen endure it?
Mo Ming remained calm and said lightly, "Don't worry, I've controlled my strength. He won't die for now; he's just fainted. Wake him up."
"Uh, I think he's not far from death," Lion said with a bitter smile as he shook his head. He took out a black pill from his pocket, pried open Stephen's mouth, and tossed it in. Then he took out a small bottle and poured the liquid inside into Stephen's mouth.
Just as Lion stood up, Stephen suddenly opened his eyes wide, clutching his stomach in extreme pain and rolling on the ground.
"What did you give me?!"
Mo Ming smiled lightly and said, "It's just a drug we developed. Don't worry; this pain will only last for a week. After that, you'll be fine. Now, I don't want to waste time with you; I'll let you go now."
"What?" Stephen asked in surprise while enduring the pain in his stomach.
Mo Ming replied calmly, "I said I can let you go back to see Reed. By the way, help me deliver a message: it's best if he doesn't send anyone over again; otherwise, he won't have many people left to use."
"Is that all?" Stephen questioned skeptically.
"Of course not," Mo Ming smiled slightly and said, "You can also tell Reed that I hope to meet him the day after tomorrow to discuss some matters. The location will be at our Dragon Soul Gang's 'Dragon Soul Bar.' If he doesn't have the guts, then he shouldn't come."
"You want to use me to lure Leader Reed out?" Stephen spat and said, "You wish! Even if I die, I won't help you harm him. His kindness towards me is something you can't understand!"
Mo Ming turned and left, saying, "I’m just saying this. If you want to die, go ahead and do it after you leave here. I won’t stop you. Lion, throw him out and let him make his own choice."
……
In a castle in Y Country, a middle-aged man stood with his hands clasped behind his back. He had a prominent hooked nose; though not handsome, he exuded a noble aura. He was Reed, the patriarch of the Frank Family. At this moment, his expression was calm, but there was a fierce glint in his eyes.
Behind him stood Stephen, who had been released by Mo Ming. After being casually tossed onto the street by Lion, Stephen had initially thought about ending his own life. However, he decided to return and tell Reed everything he knew.
The drug that Mo Ming had given him was currently tormenting him, leaving his face pale and causing intense pain in his stomach. The once strong Special Forces soldier felt utterly drained of strength. Nevertheless, to show his respect for Reed, he made an effort to stand upright.
After Stephen recounted everything he knew to Reed, Reed pondered for a long time before waving his hand dismissively and saying, "This matter is not your fault. I didn’t expect the other side to have a special combat team as well. You’ve returned safely; there’s no need for you to blame yourself. Go rest well."
"Still, no matter how you put it, the failure of the operation was due to my command error. Please punish me, Patriarch."
Reed replied, "Go on; for now, consider this a warning. Rest well; you look like you're in pain."
Upon hearing this, Stephen felt a sudden sense of relief and grew even more respectful toward Reed. After hesitating for a moment, he finally withdrew.
Once Stephen left, Reed murmured to himself, "The Shura is just a boy? This news is truly astonishing. The suddenly rising Dragon Soul Gang has swiftly taken control of the six major factions here; they have quite some power. Hmph, you want to see me? Fine, no matter what your purpose is, I’ll play along with you until the end!"
