Hearing Jordan's agreement, He Yunsong felt relieved and hung up the phone, asking, "Boss, we've found the person. What do you plan to do next?"
"Leave the next steps to me. If he is still nearby, I should be able to find him. Don't send anyone else to look for him; we don't want him to catch wind of our movements."
Mo Ming's gaze turned cold as he silently thought, "Hebrew, you'd better hope I don't catch you. Otherwise, I will make you atone for everything!"
Mo Ming was clearly furious with Hebrew, who sought to manipulate him at will. As a Shura, Mo Ming had a certain pride; how could he not be enraged when Hebrew treated him like a soft persimmon?
"Alright, just be careful, Boss. Once you've dealt with that guy, give me a call. If I don't hear from you in five hours, I'll come looking for you myself."
He Yunsong was still worried; his sword-like brows furrowed slightly. However, knowing Mo Ming's character, he understood that Mo Ming wouldn't want him to take risks and didn't say much more.
But if anything happened to Mo Ming, even if it meant chasing Hebrew to the ends of the earth and risking his life, He Yunsong would ensure that Hebrew paid with death!
"You can rest assured. I'm a Shura; even Yama wouldn't dare take me in! It's not that easy to die." Mo Ming smiled slightly and patted He Yunsong on the shoulder. "Just wait for my call; I'll resolve this quickly."
With that, Mo Ming turned and ran off, getting into his car and heading straight for Xia Yunling. Since the medicine was purchased at Xia Yunling's pharmacy, it was likely that Hebrew was hiding nearby.
Xia Yunling was quite far from He Yunsong's gym—one in the east of the city and the other in the west. Without traffic congestion, it would take less than an hour and a half to get there.
If he drove fast, Mo Ming could reach there quickly; however, this was a major road and not Panlong Road. If he drove too fast, not only might he not reach Xia Yunling but he could also end up getting pulled over by traffic police, which would only delay him further.
By then, Hebrew would have plenty of time to relocate. Mo Ming did not want to miss this opportunity; after all, Hebrew had yet to realize what was happening. There was plenty of time for him to reach Xia Yunling.
"Hebrew, you'd better pray I don't find you. Otherwise, I'll make sure to entertain you properly and won't let you die so quickly."
Mo Ming's expression darkened as he recalled the humiliating situation caused by Hebrew a few days ago, where he nearly lost his life in a car accident. Anger surged within him; for Mo Ming, this was an insult!
In those previous encounters, Hebrew had not rushed to eliminate Mo Ming, seemingly wanting to convey, "I could kill you effortlessly, and you are merely my plaything. You will die whenever I decide!"
Mo Ming had always been the one to toy with others, but now he found himself at the mercy of someone else. Hebrew was clearly challenging Mo Ming's limits!
Upon reaching the vicinity of Xia Yunling, Mo Ming drove around several times, primarily searching for any inns or abandoned places where Hebrew might be hiding.
After checking multiple inns and asking many people, there was still no sign of Hebrew, as if he had vanished from the face of the earth. Aside from being seen by the pharmacy boss, no one else had encountered him.
Mo Ming couldn't help but furrow his brow and said, "Could it be that Hebrew no longer lives around here and is just trying to confuse me by coming here to buy medicine?"
However, Mo Ming had no intention of giving up on searching other locations. He quietly explored numerous abandoned houses and factories but still found no trace of Hebrew.
Could this be a diversion set up by Hebrew to disrupt my search?
Thinking about it, it seemed plausible. If Hebrew's injuries were not severe, he would have every reason to do so; as long as he could buy time for recovery, such simple deception was something Hebrew excelled at.
At that moment, Mo Ming's phone rang. It was He Yunsong calling. After answering, he heard He Yunsong's voice on the other end.
"Damn it, boss! That bastard Jordan took it upon himself to lead his men to find Hebrew. Now his phone is off and I can't reach him. What if something happens?"
It was clear from He Yunsong's tone that he was anxious. Jordan had been his brother for many years, and he did not want anything bad to happen to him.
"Don't worry, I'll drive around and see if I can find any trace of Jordan. If anything comes up, I'll call you immediately."
Mo Ming frowned. Jordan was being too reckless; despite saying not to get involved, he still went ahead.
Mo Ming understood Jordan's mindset; he was trying to prevent Mo Ming from taking risks and intended to handle Hebrew himself.
However, Jordan was in a precarious situation now. If something went wrong, Mo Ming really didn't know how to explain it to He Yunsong and Silver Wolf.
"I can't just sit back while Zuo Dun is in trouble. I need to go personally," He Yunsong said anxiously.
"Then come over. I'll keep looking around to see if I can find Zuo Dun."
He Yunsong was clearly worried, and Mo Ming knew he would come; otherwise, he wouldn't be He Yunsong.
After hanging up the phone, Mo Ming continued searching. He checked every hidden spot but found no trace of Zuo Dun or Hebrew.
"If I were Hebrew, where would I hide most safely?"
Mo Ming furrowed his brow, trying to think from Hebrew's perspective.
If the gunshot wound wasn't serious, there would be no need to go to a pharmacy for anti-inflammatory painkillers, which indicated that Hebrew's injury was somewhat severe.
If there were no signs of Hebrew in abandoned places or hotels...
"If I were Hebrew, the best choice would be to find a place where no one usually lives and hide there!"
Realizing this, Mo Ming no longer hesitated and immediately called He Yunsong.
"Ah Yun, is there any news about Zuo Dun?" Mo Ming asked.
"Not yet. That bastard just had a little brother tell me; he didn't say where that little brother should go. Boss, how's it going on your side?"
He Yunsong's tone remained tense, and from his words, Mo Ming could sense how furrowed He Yunsong's brow must be.
"Nothing for now, but I think Zuo Dun is safe for the time being. Don't worry, I'll do my best," Mo Ming replied. "Find someone to ask if there are any homeowners who are rarely at home; Hebrew is likely hiding there."
"Okay, that area is Yang Fan's territory. I'll ask him for help; we should know soon."
"I'll go look for him myself first. If you find Hebrew, notify me immediately."
After hanging up the phone, Mo Ming continued his search. However, it wasn't easy to quickly find someone alone. Along the way, he saw quite a few people out looking for someone; they were probably Yang Fan's men.
It seemed that He Yunsong had news; he called back and said, "Boss, I received word from Yang Fan that someone saw Zuo Dun at Xia Yunling's Eastern Bank."
Mo Ming immediately opened the navigation app; Eastern Bank wasn't far away, just a ten-minute journey would suffice.
"I'm very close to there; I'm heading over now. I hope it's not too late."
The engine roared, as if carrying my anger, rushing towards Eastern Bank.
Upon arrival, Mo Ming quickly got out of the car and glanced around. Here, there was only a residential building, making it relatively easy to search.
Just as Mo Ming reached the ground floor, his phone rang. The caller ID showed Zuo Dun's name, and upon seeing this, Mo Ming seemed far from pleased.
"Zuo Dun!?"
"Heh heh, what do you think?" A processed voice came through, sneering coldly.
"Hebrew!" A glint of killing intent flashed in Mo Ming's eyes as he spoke.
"Haha..." The other side burst into wild laughter. "Come upstairs; I'll be waiting for you!"
"You better not touch him; otherwise, I'll make you understand what it means to live in fear!" Mo Ming's voice was icy.
"Are you trying to scare me?" The other side chuckled dismissively. "My God, I can't guarantee I won't kill him. You better hurry; otherwise, there will only be a corpse left for you."
"What do you want?"
Mo Ming's tone was somewhat conciliatory. The other party held Jordan's life in their hands, and at this moment, threats were clearly ineffective. He didn't want anything to happen to Jordan.
"Not much. Shura, our hatred was something I intended to resolve on my own. However, since you decided to investigate me, don't blame me for being ruthless. You'll pay the price!"
A chilling, eerie laughter sent a wave of fear through the air, as if it were the call of death echoing from the Underworld.
After saying that, the person on the other end hung up. Mo Ming cursed at his phone and rushed forward.
"Hebrew, I hope you won't do anything excessive; otherwise, I guarantee you'll wish you were never born!"
Upon reaching the fourth floor, he noticed bloodstains at the entrance, and the door was wide open, with the blood dripping into the house.
"Jordan!"
Seeing this, Mo Ming seemed to recall something; his eyes suddenly widened, turning cold as fury quickly filled his heart.
"Fuck you, Hebrew! Get out here!"
Mo Ming was engulfed in madness, painful memories flooding back, igniting an extraordinary rage within him. Hebrew's actions had successfully transported Mo Ming back to the day of his mission failure.
Kill! Kill! Kill!
This was the voice echoing in Mo Ming's mind, filled with immense anger and murderous intent. His eyes almost instantly turned red, reminiscent of Nie Feng from "The Storm Riders," consumed by endless madness.
The room was dark, devoid of any light. Mo Ming showed no restraint as he charged in. The moment he entered, a pungent odor assaulted his nostrils.
"Jordan!"
Mo Ming shouted anxiously, but the response did not come from Jordan or Hebrew; instead, it was a sharp gunshot.
As soon as he heard the gunfire, Mo Ming quickly ducked for cover. From the sound, he could roughly gauge the opponent's position, which was within his control.
In the quiet room, Mo Ming calmed himself and listened intently for any movement from the other party. He caught a faint sound of footsteps approaching.
Mo Ming steadied his breath and refrained from acting hastily; he wanted to wait for the opponent to come closer. The footsteps were very subtle, but for Mo Ming's keen hearing, detecting them was effortless.
When the opponent was about a meter away, Mo Ming suddenly lunged forward and saw the opponent's arm raising the gun. He swiftly seized it.
Bang! Bang!
Two bullets fired from the gun, creating a tense moment where Mo Ming narrowly avoided injury. Not giving the opponent another chance to shoot, he engaged in a struggle with the person.
"Damned bastard, die!"
Mo Ming grabbed the person's arm and twisted it forcefully, causing the handgun to fall to the ground. Then, he quickly delivered a kick to the opponent's abdomen, sending him staggering backward.
