The night was dark and gloomy. At the foot of an unknown mountain east of Golden Mountain Pass, only the sound of insects filled the air, while a cool breeze swept through the dense trees. Soon, two modified cargo trucks arrived.
The trucks came to a slow stop, and armed men climbed out. Dressed in full gear and holding the latest automatic rifles developed by D Country, one man quickly moved to the back of the truck in front and opened the gate.
As soon as the gate opened, a group of armed individuals poured out—there were more than thirty of them. Zuo Tai was among them, acting as the commander for tonight's transaction. He appeared cold and unapproachable.
"Everyone, stay sharp! This is a big deal, and if anything goes wrong, you won't live to see another day!" Zuo Tai, usually taciturn, spoke at length this time. His words startled the armed men into taking their positions, alert to any movements around them.
Not far from the trading site, in a pit, Mo Ming and his comrades from the righteous souls had been lying there for a day. The cold and hunger were not difficult for Mo Ming to endure; he remained motionless until now.
"The operation is about to begin. Everyone get ready and follow my orders. Tonight, we will deliver a big gift to the Dark Order!"
After some time passed, Zuo Tai checked the time and frowned as he looked around. The trading time was approaching, yet their counterparts had not arrived. Just then, the sound of approaching vehicles could be heard.
"Someone's coming! Hide!"
Zuo Tai made a gesture to conceal themselves and led everyone into the woods, fearing that the newcomers might not be their trading partners. Staying hidden would be more advantageous for them.
Ten black vans drove in and parked in an open area. The people inside did not rush to get out; instead, they picked up their phones to dial a number. Zuo Tai's phone rang loudly in the stillness of the night.
Realizing that these were indeed their trading partners, Zuo Tai led his group out from the trees. The people in the vans saw them coming and got out of their vehicles. They were a group of Europeans and Americans, tall individuals with one imposing Black man who resembled a gorilla due to his massive muscles—clearly their leader.
"Mr. Zuo Tai, hello! I'm Mickey, the person in charge of this transaction. It's a pleasure to meet you." Mickey, being the only Black man among them, had reviewed information about Zuo Tai before arriving and extended his hand warmly upon meeting him.
"The goods are in the truck. Is the money ready?" Zuo Tai remained cold and unresponsive to Mickey's enthusiasm, getting straight to business.
This left Mickey feeling awkward; unsure where to place his outstretched hand, he simply shook it off and said, "Don't worry; we have prepared the money. Rowen, hurry up and bring the money for Mr. Zuo Tai to see."
Among Mickey's group, twenty individuals retrieved fifteen password-protected metal boxes from the truck and approached Zuo Tai to input their codes and open the boxes. Inside were stacks of U.S. dollars; in just a blink of an eye, they closed again.
"I think it's time for us to check the goods," Mickey said with a smile as he looked at Zuo Tai.
Upon hearing this, Zuo Tai signaled to someone nearby, who immediately walked to the back of the second truck and opened the gate. Mickey and Zuo Tai approached and saw that it was filled with drugs.
Zuo Tai took out a bag and cut it open with a knife. Mickey immediately dipped his finger in and licked it, giving a satisfied thumbs-up. "This drug is very pure, excellent. I think Mr. K will be pleased."
"As long as Mr. K is satisfied, that's good. General Tait asked me to convey a message to Mr. K, sincerely hoping we can continue our friendly cooperation in the future." Zuo Tai put his hands together and bowed, which was a symbol of goodwill.
Mickey mimicked the gesture and said, "I will pass General Tait's message to Mr. K. Rowen, hand the money over to Mr. Zuo Tai's people, and find someone else to drive."
Suddenly, gunfire erupted in the quiet wilderness, resulting in casualties among both Zuo Tai's and Mickey's men. Chaos ensued as everyone took cover behind their vehicles.
In the darkness, a heavily armed group charged forward—there were many of them, at least a hundred strong, with formidable firepower. The quiet foothills quickly turned into a battlefield.
"What the hell is going on? How did anyone know our trading location?" Mickey demanded angrily. "I guarantee someone leaked information; damn it, do you have a mole on your side?"
"I... I don't know. I just came here to deliver goods and collect money; I had no idea this was happening. But please don't worry; we have the numbers, and it won't be easy for them to take our goods."
The Lion was excited: "Hey boss, Taylor is really something; he made it look like we're fighting ourselves. If we didn't know better, we'd be completely confused right now. I bet Dark Order will fall for it."
"This is the boss's strategy; how could it not be brilliant? First, we stage a feigned injury to lure out Dark Order's people, then we reap the rewards—it's perfect! They probably won't even realize we've made an agreement with Taylor."
"Don't jump to conclusions just yet; Dark Order isn't made up of fools. Whether we can lure them in remains to be seen. As long as they dare to show up, they won't leave alive!" Mo Ming said calmly.
This opportunity was indeed perfect; they played along with the plan. However, if Dark Order had good intelligence and caught wind of anything, this whole act would be for nothing—they might even turn the tables on them.
Outside, the gunfight continued with casualties on both sides. Outsiders wouldn't know that those so-called casualties were merely part of the act; the guns and bullets were fake—the real weapons were still in the truck!
"The enemy's firepower is too strong, and there are quite a few of them. If we keep this up, we won't just lose the goods; we'll lose our lives!" Zuo Tai said to Mickey, continuing to fight fiercely. At this moment, Zuo Tai was putting on quite the performance, as if he were truly fighting for his life.
"Those sons of bitches!" Mickey cursed loudly and said to Zuo Tai, "Why don't we retreat? Otherwise, it's not worth losing our lives over the goods."
Zuo Tai hesitated for a moment, gritted his teeth, and nodded vigorously. "Alright, it has to be this way... Brothers, let's prioritize getting out alive first. We can find another opportunity to reclaim the goods. Let's withdraw!"
Just as Zuo Tai and Mickey were about to pull back, gunfire erupted from all directions. Suddenly, both Zuo Tai and Mickey's sides, including the False Justice Soul, suffered casualties.
"Change weapons! Let's take them down!"
The waiting enemies finally appeared. Zuo Tai was undeterred and shouted excitedly as he quickly dove into the vehicle, retrieved real guns from inside, and tossed them out. The others quickly switched to real weapons and engaged in combat with the newly emerged foes.
The speed of changing weapons was relatively quick since arrangements had been made earlier. Taylor's Mercenaries reacted swiftly, grabbing real guns and firing back at the enemies. The casualties were not significant and remained within expected limits.
This time, the firefight was intense, with both sides suffering heavy losses. Taylor's Mercenaries were clearly at a disadvantage since the enemy was hiding in the shadows and had the advantage of terrain.
"Hey brothers, we've hooked the fish! It's time to deliver our big gift!" Initially thinking they couldn't lure Dark Order members into a trap, Mo Ming was overjoyed when they actually showed up. He rushed out from the pit first.
Quietly sneaking toward Dark Order's position, Poisonous Madness and others followed closely behind Mo Ming as they stealthily approached. The attention of Dark Order was entirely focused on dealing with Zuo Tai's group.
Dark Order had no defenses against Mo Ming's sudden appearance; even Death at the back was completely unaware as they crept up from behind. Mo Ming aimed his gun at them and opened fire without caring who was who!
"You bastards from Dark Order are about to taste your own medicine! You damn fools dared to toy with us; this is your big gift in return!" The Lion, larger in size and wielding a heavy machine gun, unleashed a barrage of fire on Dark Order members.
The firepower was extraordinary; it was like a fortress. The recoil from the heavy machine gun was substantial, but the Lion handled it effortlessly, like Guan Gong wielding a large blade—easy work!
With the chaos led by Mo Ming's group of righteous souls, the balance of power shifted instantly. Dark Order suffered increased casualties as their firepower was effectively neutralized by Mo Ming's ambush. With three parties attacking simultaneously and Mo Ming being in hiding, Dark Order simply couldn't cope.
On the other side, an anxious voice shouted in English, "We've been deceived, retreat quickly!" Immediately, the firepower from the Dark Order weakened, with only sporadic gunfire remaining, clearly left behind to cover the retreat of their team.
"The dogs are trying to escape; split up and encircle them, we must annihilate them!" Mo Ming immediately understood the enemy's intentions and told Poisonous Madness and others, leading a team to chase after them first, while Poisonous Madness and others took small teams to encircle from different directions.
"The enemy wants to flee; let's rush over and deal with those scoundrels who tried to ambush us. Let's smash them to pieces!" Zuo Tai's team noticed the enemy's firepower had diminished.
They immediately increased their firepower to cover their advance. In just a short while, all the remaining Dark Order defenders were eliminated. Zuo Tai did not pursue further; this time the division of labor was clear—his responsibility was only to draw out the Dark Order members, not to clean up.
The trapped members of the Dark Order scattered in different directions, knowing that this would disperse their firepower and facilitate their escape. Unfortunately for them, Mo Ming's side had also split into several teams specifically to prevent the enemy from escaping in different directions.
This suited Mo Ming's intentions perfectly, making it easy for him to take them down one by one and avoid greater casualties. Leading a small team, Mo Ming pursued the fleeing members of the Dark Order.
When the enemy appeared in Mo Ming's line of sight, he raised his gun while chasing and accurately shot at a running enemy. This shot was enough to prove Mo Ming's marksmanship was precise.
Many can hit a stationary target perfectly, but very few can do so against a moving target at high speed; those who can are truly kings among soldiers.
Everyone knows that the battlefield's little tyrant "Asura" is one of those rare individuals. His exceptional shooting skills instill fear in countless enemies. It was often said that seeing the muzzle of Asura's gun meant death had come calling.
