"Isn't that right, Poison Brother? Is he really your boss?" Song En looked at Mo Ming in shock, swallowing hard. He felt a bit embarrassed for being so rude to Poison Brother's boss just moments ago.
"Yeah, can I still be lying to you?" Poisonous Madness replied with a grin, then put his arm around Song En's shoulder and walked over. "Boss, we need to talk about something inside; it's not appropriate to chat out here."
"Boss, could you please prepare some food for me as well? I'm starving," Poisonous Madness said politely to Song En's Boss with a smile.
"Not a problem, I'll get it ready right away. You can chat with your friend for now," Boss said to Song En. "Song En, come help me out; don't disturb Poison Brother while he's talking with his friend."
"Okay, Boss." Song En became much more obedient, responding readily and stealing a glance at Mo Ming before following Boss inside.
"This kid has a bit of an attitude, reminds me of how I used to be. Heh, thanks to their help recently, I've been doing pretty well and haven't been hiding like a rat."
Poisonous Madness watched as Song En left with Boss, a smile creeping onto his face as he turned to Mo Ming. "Boss, I've been waiting for you for a long time. So, what's the plan?"
"Uh, what plan do you need?" Mo Ming smiled slightly as he ate some minced meat mixed with rice. It tasted quite good. "Hmm, this is nice; it's smooth and delicious!"
"Come on, Boss, don't joke around! Tate is looking for me everywhere; how can you still be in the mood to eat?" Poisonous Madness rolled his eyes at Mo Ming. "Do you already have a plan? Spill it!"
"I really don't have a plan," Mo Ming said after chewing and swallowing his food. "Where are the other brothers? Why haven't I seen them?"
"Uh, Lion and the others aren't here; they're all at a village in the Golden Triangle. I'm here waiting for you," Poisonous Madness asked again, "Boss, are you really without a plan?"
"Trust me, I really don't!" Mo Ming shot Poisonous Madness an exasperated look. "How can I make a plan when I don't even know the situation? By the way, why did you guys provoke Tate for no reason?"
"You can't blame it all on Lion and his crew; they were too bored. As soon as they heard news about the Heavenly Alliance, they rushed over without investigating properly and fell into a trap," Poisonous Madness said with a bitter smile as he poured himself a glass of strong liquor and took a sip.
"It seems like you're one of those idle guys too!" Mo Ming scoffed at Poisonous Madness. "I thought you were more composed; who would have thought you'd be unreliable too."
"Boss, this isn't about blaming anyone right now. Anyway, Tate is offended, so you handle it," Poisonous Madness said with a wicked grin.
"Damn it, your attitude suggests that no matter what mess you make, as the boss, I have to clean it up, right?" Mo Ming said with a gloomy expression. What kind of society is this where the boss is just a scapegoat?
Poisonous Madness thought deeply for a moment and nodded, "Theoretically, that's the situation. Since we've already offended them, why should we be afraid? Don't worry, we all support you!"
"Forget it. I'm not here to figure out who's right or wrong; I just hope you all won't be so impulsive in the future. Think things through or ask me first before taking action," Mo Ming said. "This time you got away with just offending Tate, and no brothers were harmed. I don't want there to be a next time; I don't want anything to happen to my brothers."
"Alright, boss, you've learned your lesson. If it happens again, I'll chop off my own hands!" Poisonous Madness laughed and said, "Come on, boss, the lions are waiting for you to lead us in dealing with Tate. Let's hurry up with the battle plan."
"Yeah, no rush. Let me finish eating first; I'm really hungry."
"What the hell, boss, how many days has it been since you last ate?" Poisonous Madness looked at Mo Ming, who was eating heartily, somewhat astonished. He looked like he hadn't eaten in days.
"I haven't; I just ate this morning."
Poisonous Madness scoffed at this: "Got it. You've gotten used to city life; you've turned into a pig! Otherwise, how could you eat like that?"
"Poison Brother, your ant eggs are here." Song En came out holding a plate of ant eggs, nearly making Mo Ming, who was enjoying his meal, vomit.
"Toxic Jar, can eating ant eggs help you roll far away?" Mo Ming disdainfully glanced at Poisonous Madness and said, "Just looking at them makes me gag. Are you sure you can eat those?"
"Ahaha, then you don't know what deliciousness is! This is a good thing; do you want to try some?" Poisonous Madness said as he scooped a spoonful and offered it to Mo Ming with a grin.
"Get lost! Keep that disgusting stuff away from me." Mo Ming pushed Poisonous Madness's hand away and suddenly felt full. "Thanks to you, I'm suddenly not hungry at all."
After a satisfying meal, Mo Ming let out a contented burp, pulled out a cigarette, and tried to light it with a lighter several times, but it wouldn't catch fire. Song En immediately found a lighter to help Mo Ming ignite it.
"Hey, what are you trying to do by being so attentive?" Mo Ming lazily squinted at the smiling Song En while taking a puff of smoke.
"This kid just wants to learn some skills. He's been begging me for a long time, and I guess now he wants to ask you to teach him," Poisonous Madness said, chewing on an ant egg with a loud smack that gave Mo Ming goosebumps.
Hearing this, Song En nodded vigorously and said, "Big brother, I really want to learn some skills. Please teach me something!"
"I can't teach you; I only know how to kill," Mo Ming exhaled smoke and said, "You just need to learn three things: be quick—strike fast, react fast, analyze fast; be ruthless—kill decisively, be even harsher on yourself; be accurate—maintain a high hit rate."
"Uh, how do I learn that?" Song En asked, his mouth agape in confusion.
Mo Ming ignored Song En and quietly smoked. Learning isn't something that happens overnight. If Song En wanted to learn, Mo Ming was unwilling to teach him because it required brutal training; it would be better for him to live a peaceful life.
...
As the sun set and night fell, Song En's shop closed for the day. Tonight, Mo Ming had to share a room with Poisonous Madness. He didn't mind much since he wanted to have a good talk with Poisonous Madness.
Mo Ming told Poisonous Madness about Maurel's situation.
"Do you think there's something suspicious about this?" Poisonous Madness frowned and asked. "Did you not see clearly who that shadow was? Could it be someone from Tate's side?"
"I couldn't see clearly; the person moved quickly. When I chased after them, the police arrived. I didn't want to get into trouble, so I didn't follow closely," Mo Ming shook his head and said. "I think we should hold off on any actions for now and investigate quietly first."
"Yeah, you make a good point..."
Outside, there was a chaotic noise. Poisonous Madness spoke while signaling to Mo Ming. Mo Ming noticed the commotion outside and nodded in understanding, indicating to Poisonous Madness not to act recklessly.
Suddenly, a voice came from outside the room: "Who are you? ... Ah, Poison Brother, help!" Upon hearing Song En's voice, Mo Ming and Poisonous Madness exchanged glances but did not rush out. Instead, they peered through a small gap in the door and saw a group of men in black holding Song En and Boss.
The other party had guns!
If they rushed out now, not only would they be unable to save Song En and Boss, but they would also put themselves in danger. After all, there were many of them, and they had guns. How could Mo Ming and Poisonous Madness fight unarmed?
"Let them go! If you have something to say, come at us instead. Don't harm the innocent!" Mo Ming's voice was cold, with a hint of anger in his eyes. He was very displeased with the use of hostages as threats.
At this moment, a force began to try to control Mo Ming into committing murder. However, for the safety of Song En and Boss, Mo Ming could only clench his fists tightly, struggling to suppress the uncontrollable killing intent.
"Harming the innocent?" The leader of the men in black sneered. "You collected the person we are looking for and ruined our assassination plan. You deserve to die; how can this be considered harming the innocent? Because of you, they must die!"
"What do you want?" Poisonous Madness said with an expression of unspeakable anger. "Tell us what you want us to do for you to let them go."
"It's simple. All you need to do is commit suicide immediately, and I might consider letting them go." As soon as the leader finished speaking, a group of men in black burst into wild laughter.
Boss said, "Don't worry about us. Even if you kill yourselves, they won't let us go. There's no need for you to throw away your lives for us!"
"Yes, Poison Brother, big brother, don't listen to them!" Song En gritted her teeth, her face showing determination. At that moment, her youthful face bore a hint of fearlessness towards death.
One of the men in black raised his hand and slapped Boss hard. With such force, Boss fell directly to the ground. The man cursed, "Shut up! If you dare speak again, I'll make you regret it."
"Boss!" Song En was like a fierce seafood that had just been pulled ashore; she struggled and twisted in an attempt to break free from the grip of the two men in black holding her. Unfortunately, she couldn't escape and angrily shouted, "You bastards! Don't touch my Boss! If you have guts, come at me!"
With a crisp sound, Song En was forcefully knocked to the ground. Two men in black aimed their guns at Song En and Boss. The leader of the black-clad men sneered, "The consequence of offending General Tait is death. If you have any conscience, come out, and I can spare them. Otherwise, I will shoot them."
"You bastards better not do anything reckless!" Poisonous Madness recalled how they had been taken care of by Song En's family today. His eyes turned red as he wanted to rush out to save them, but he was held back by Mo Ming.
"Calm down. Even if you go out now, you won't be able to save them; you might even lose your own life!"
Poisonous Madness, filled with anger, said, "What should we do then? Just watch them die in front of us? I can't do that! I have to go out and save them!"
"Adu, don't go out. Even if Boss dies, you must stay inside and live!" At the moment of life and death, Boss chose to help Poisonous Madness, a man he had known for less than a month. This was a beautiful side of humanity!
"I'll count to three. If you choose to be a coward, then I can only kill them."
Mo Ming frowned tightly, holding onto Poisonous Madness. He was afraid he would rush out despite the danger; the other side was definitely trying to force them out. If anyone dared to step outside, they would surely be swarmed.
"Poisonous Madness, you need to understand that if we go out, we all die!" Mo Ming said seriously. "Who will take revenge for them then? Who will take revenge for us?"
Before Poisonous Madness could think further, the countdown began outside: "One!"
