As soon as Mo Ming's words fell, both Murong Wei and Murong Lian were shocked. Murong Wei hurriedly asked, "Who is it?"
In response to Murong Wei's question, Mo Ming did not answer directly but looked at Murong Lian and asked, "Murong Lian, how much do you know about your company's employees?"
"I know basically all the employees," Murong Lian replied without hesitation. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, since that's the case, tell me about the Creative Director of the Advertising Department, Cheng Siyuan. I want to understand this person in detail; don't leave out any details," Mo Ming said seriously.
"Are you saying that the spy is the Advertising Creative Director Cheng Siyuan?" Murong Lian exclaimed, recalling the refined Cheng Siyuan, feeling that he didn't seem like someone who would betray his own company.
Mo Ming shook his head and said, "I didn't say that. I need to know more about Cheng Siyuan. Stop wasting time and tell me."
"Alright." While thinking about Cheng Siyuan's information, Murong Lian began to speak: "Cheng Siyuan is a long-time employee of Starry Rhythm Advertising. He is twenty-nine years old this year and graduated from JQ University in Y Country. During his studies, he performed excellently. After returning to the country, he joined Starry Melody. At first, his creativity was just average, but as time went on and with more experience, his creativity improved significantly."
"What about his salary?"
"I offer him twice what other advertising companies do, plus there are bonuses at the end of the year. I treat him well; logically speaking, he shouldn't be looking to switch jobs or engage in activities that betray the company," Murong Lian said with a frown, hoping that the mole wasn't Cheng Siyuan.
"Oh." After listening, Mo Ming responded thoughtfully.
Seeing that Mo Ming remained silent, Murong Lian anxiously asked, "So what's going on? Don't you already have a suspect? Just tell me who it is. Could it really be Cheng Siyuan?"
"No, I'm not suspecting that Cheng Siyuan is the mole," Mo Ming waved his hand.
"Then who do you suspect?"
Mo Ming revealed a strange smile and said, "If I remember correctly, your company has someone named Wu Zhenning, right? Actually, I suspect that the mole is Wu Zhenning, who is under Cheng Siyuan in the Advertising Department."
"What?" Murong Lian found it hard to believe and questioned, "How could it be him? In my impression, he is quite ordinary and has no notable achievements. Besides, he's just a junior staff member; how could he access the confidential documents of the Murong Family? This is impossible!"
"Yes, the confidential documents of my Murong Family are generally only accessible to higher-ups. If you say he stole creative ideas, that's one thing; but if you say he stole confidential documents from the Murong Family, that's impossible. I think you might be mistaken," Murong Wei frowned, clearly also finding it hard to believe.
"Right, stealing creative ideas!" Mo Ming nodded and smiled. "That's correct; it's stealing creative ideas. However, the one doing the stealing is Cheng Siyuan and not Wu Zhenning!"
Upon hearing this statement from Mo Ming, both Murong Lian and Murong Wei were stunned. Murong Lian shook her head vigorously in denial: "Impossible! How could Cheng Siyuan steal Wu Zhenning's advertising ideas!"
"There’s nothing impossible about it. Although Wu Zhenning is just a small employee who graduated from a third-rate university with no status or position, he works very hard. He originally thought that hard work would yield rewards. When his labor results were repeatedly taken by Cheng Siyuan for his own use, he became desperate regarding Starry Melody," Mo Ming said sympathetically for Wu Zhenning with a sigh.
"What makes you say that?" Murong Lian asked.
"Just based on the timing of Wu Zhenning entering Starry Melody, which coincides with Cheng Siyuan's rise in his career. Think about it, why would Cheng Siyuan, who originally had mediocre creativity, suddenly secure a deal with Yumeiren International Cosmetics Company?" Mo Ming argued logically.
"Isn't it possible for Cheng Siyuan to have a burst of inspiration?" Murong Lian countered after a moment of thought.
"I think you've watched too many animated shows. In real life, there are no sudden breakthroughs; only through continuous effort can one climb the ladder to success. Only by pushing forward step by step can one achieve success," Mo Ming said with a hint of disdain. "If that wasn't enough to prove my point, I have more evidence to support my suspicion."
As he spoke, Mo Ming turned around and quickly accessed his computer. "This is the data I hacked from everyone's computers at your company today. I've uploaded it to a foreign server, and it's already downloaded here. You can compare these creative proposals and see if they look very similar."
Murong Lian and Murong Wei carefully examined the documents displayed on the screen, their eyes widening in shock. The proposals were almost identical, essentially the same idea with slight modifications. Murong Lian recognized that one of the proposals was indeed an idea that Cheng Siyuan had previously submitted.
"How does it feel? Surprising, isn't it? I mean, Murong Old Man, from your perspective as a businessman, which of these similar proposals do you think is more perfect?" Mo Ming asked with a meaningful smile at Murong Wei.
Murong Wei nodded and pointed to one of the proposals. "I think this one is more perfect. If I were to view it from a client's perspective, I prefer this proposal."
This statement echoed Murong Lian's thoughts; she was simply too shocked to speak. Her mind was greatly impacted.
Because the advertising concept they both agreed upon was not the one that Cheng Siyuan had already passed.
"What's wrong? Are you so shocked that you can't speak?" Mo Ming laughed as he observed Murong Lian's expression. "The idea you just agreed upon is the original concept I obtained from Wu Zhenning's computer. You don't need to doubt this; I've compared the creation times, and indeed Wu Zhenning's idea predates Cheng Siyuan's. Moreover, Wu Zhenning's concept has already been offered to clients by other companies."
Murong Wei and Murong Lian remained silent, their emotions clearly complex. Mo Ming continued, "Isn't it shocking? The third-rate university graduate you looked down upon, Wu Zhenning, is actually a creative genius; it's just that his brilliance has been overshadowed by Cheng Siyuan. And you, Murong Lian, have overlooked this genius and chosen a prestigious university graduate who only knows how to steal others' ideas."
"Looks like we were all wrong to judge someone's abilities based on their education level," Murong Wei sighed heavily. "Mo Ming, are you suggesting that Wu Zhenning, unwilling to remain beneath Cheng Siyuan, in anger sold his ideas to other companies?"
"Yes, that's just my speculation for now without concrete evidence. However, there's no doubt that Cheng Siyuan stole Wu Zhenning's ideas!" Mo Ming stated. "Now let's talk about the issue of the Murong Family's confidential information being leaked."
Murong Wei composed himself and said, "Alright, go on."
"While wandering around today, I inadvertently noticed how familiar Wu Zhenning was with operating a computer; it seemed like he had practiced before. If he were a hacker, he would at least have an intermediate level of skill," Mo Ming said with a wry smile directed at Murong Lian. "Your company has a hidden dragon that has gone unnoticed for so long—Murong Lian, are you really that clueless?"
"You’re the clueless one!" Murong Lian shot back. "Wu Zhenning has always been quiet in the company and hasn't produced any results; how could I have noticed?"
"You still won't admit you're clueless? What do you mean he hasn't produced results? All those advertising concepts from Cheng Siyuan—none of them are his! How can you say he hasn't contributed anything?" Mo Ming rolled his eyes at Murong Lian.
"You bastard!" Murong Lian exclaimed angrily.
After hearing Mo Ming's words, Murong Wei seemed to understand a bit and said, "So, you suspect that Wu Zhenning might have used the company's computer to steal documents from the Murong Family and sold them to my rival company for money?"
"Hey, this is just my speculation; I can't be sure that Wu Zhenning is the one who stole the secrets. However, he is definitely a prime suspect. Well, that's all I know for now," Mo Ming chuckled and said, "I will find out the answer soon. If you have nothing else, you can leave now."
Mo Ming was clearly dismissing them. Murong Lian angrily turned to leave, while the old man Murong Wei sighed helplessly. He truly had no way to deal with Mo Ming's personality and couldn't muster any anger, so he also left.
"Wu Zhenning, oh Wu Zhenning, you are talented. I really hope you wouldn't do something like this, but all the evidence points to you, and I'm powerless," Mo Ming lamented for Wu Zhenning before starting to hack into the communication company and those companies that used Wu Zhenning's ideas to search for evidence of commercial crimes.
He found that recently Wu Zhenning had been in frequent contact with a certain phone number. Mo Ming glanced at it and memorized the number. Using another communication company's server, he searched for that number, only to find it belonged to Wu Zhenning.
"Hmm, talking to oneself? How is that possible! One of the numbers must be used by someone else. So as long as I check which phone is used most frequently at Starry Melody Company, that will be the number Wu Zhenning is using," Mo Ming thought.
With his speculation in mind, Mo Ming began working again. He utilized the communication company's server to check the call locations of the two numbers. One number had never been used around the company, while the other was frequently used nearby. Thus, the latter must be the number used by Wu Zhenning.
The advertising companies that used Wu Zhenning's ideas and the real estate developers who rushed to announce plans ahead of Murong Clan seemed to have hired professional hackers to process important information with various codes. Although Mo Ming had the ability to decode these messages and recover that information, it would take some time.
Mo Ming typed on his keyboard using his own code-breaking program; however, it would take about two days to crack it. In this short time frame, he could only wait quietly for results since many things were not accomplished overnight.
