With Mario leading the way, the squad ventured deep into what was once a prosperous city but now lay in desolation. The air was filled with a sense of oppression and despair. The open land no longer held the liveliness and bustle of its past, only the dust beneath their feet and the distant silence. Mario walked at the forefront, his steps resolute yet somewhat disheveled. He continuously expressed disbelief and anger at the scene before him.
At times, he cursed unknown forces, his voice filled with indignation and confusion about the disaster. Then, suddenly, he would fall into a strange soliloquy, with low laughter echoing in the desolate space, as if seeking some form of self-comfort or attempting to comprehend the absurdity of it all.
The members of the SS followed behind, maintaining a certain distance from each other. Their eyes were filled with vigilance and fear, feeling puzzled and worried about Mario's condition. However, no one dared to approach him or break the silence. They could only follow quietly, praying in their hearts, hoping that this desolate land could provide them with an explanation, or at least a clue.
This group moved forward in silence, with each step seeming to explore this new world, a world they had never imagined facing. Mario's mood fluctuated, and from his irregular footsteps and sudden sounds, one could sense the struggle and confusion deep within him, as well as his fear and unease about an unknown fate.
As the team ventured deeper into the wilderness, Toad and Tom followed closely behind. Their steps were cautious, as if they were afraid of stepping into the unknown abyss with each move. As everyone slowly advanced in this heavy atmosphere, a sharp scream suddenly pierced the silence. A member of the guard team fell back in terror, then silently disappeared from the ground, as if swallowed by a sudden black hole.
This scene terrified the surrounding team members. Some of them, overwhelmed by panic, lost the strength to stand and sat on the ground, staring fixedly at the spot where the person disappeared, as if hoping for a miracle to occur and the guard to reappear before their eyes.
However, Mario seemed completely unaffected by this sudden change. He just kept his head down, continuing to walk forward in silence, as if the panicked soldiers, the fearful screams, and even the life and death of his own men had nothing to do with him. His figure appeared unusually isolated in the desolate land, as if he were a secluded existence, with only the sound of his own footsteps and breathing echoing in the silence.
Toad and Tom exchanged a terrified glance, but led by Mario's resolute figure, they could only suppress their inner panic and continue to follow this king they had once greatly respected, now filled with unknowns and fears, into this new world of the unknown and danger.
As the team ventured deeper into this unknown desolate land, several members of the guard finally could not bear the heavy pressure and endless panic in their hearts. They decided to no longer follow Mario's orders and turned to escape back to the relatively safe forest area they had just left. However, at the moment they turned around, they witnessed a despairing scene—the forest they thought would provide shelter suddenly seemed to be pulled down by a huge invisible hand, collapsing in an instant along with the earth's fragments, disappearing into a massive black hole.
The team members were terrified, their faces filled with disbelief, and they let out screams of horror. The fear that emanated from their very bones left them frozen in place, unable to move as if their feet had taken root. They had thought that by escaping this cursed land and returning to the forest, they would find some comfort and hope, but in the blink of an eye, even their last retreat was ruthlessly cut off.
Reality and their fear are so close that everyone feels the taste of despair. The black hole not only devours their perceived refuge, but also ruthlessly swallows their last shred of hope. Faced with this situation, they can only helplessly watch the disappearing forest, feeling nothing but fear, almost unable to generate any other emotions.
As the black hole mercilessly devours, the members of the guard team helplessly fall into the invisible darkness one by one. Whenever a team member falls, the air is filled with their desperate cries for help, "Sir... save me!" Such voices fill this silent space, full of fear and the desire to survive. However, for Mario, such cries seem to be just passing winds in his ears. He not only shows no sign of stopping or turning back, but continues to walk forward, muttering to himself as if the passing of those lives has nothing to do with him.
Whenever a life disappeared behind him, the only thing that accompanied it was the increasingly intense soliloquy. Mario's footsteps did not falter or stagnate because of this, as if his heart had long turned a blind eye to it all. Until the last guard shouting his name was mercilessly swallowed by the black hole and disappeared into the invisible abyss, the scene became horrifying, leaving only Mario on the desolate land, along with his incessant monologue.
This scene seemed to become a portrayal of the disaster - the lonely figure of a king and the forgotten lives that cried out for help. Mario's indifference and disregard for the safety of his subordinates once again highlighted his inner cruelty and despair, as well as his acceptance of his powerlessness to change it all.
