Soon, Lin replied to all of them, including a message from the Super Ability Tiger Team asking, "Brother Lin, have you left yet?"
"I'm just gathering some herbs before heading back," Lin responded. After handling all the messages, he closed the communication log and stroked his chin, pondering what to do next.
Searching for the Yanghu Ruins was not an easy task; he felt completely at a loss. Even with the marketplace at his disposal, it would take considerable effort given his current financial situation.
Lin began discussing with Shitou where to look and what exploration equipment they needed to buy.
After some discussion, they concluded that the best approach would be to track down the Hundred-Man Team. Since the entire team had mobilized, they must have their own confidence, and following them would greatly increase their chances.
"This is still quite difficult. First, we need to buy biological detection equipment, then we need an outdoor flying vehicle, and we have to get ahead of them..."
Lin muttered softly, feeling overwhelmed by the seemingly impossible task ahead.
"You've been training hard; why not take a break tonight and tackle it tomorrow?"
Even Shitou, who had been urging him on, finally relaxed. Lin decided not to dwell on those thoughts anymore and planned to treat himself well.
Letting go of his burdens, Lin intended to prepare a hearty afternoon meal using his newly acquired abilities and went into the forest to hunt.
...
As he raced through the woods, a smile spread across Lin's face as he held an unknown beast in his hands. He touched its body and murmured to himself, "This meat feels really chewy; hmm, I’ll make a great meal with honey..."
"Too bad I'm not edible; following you is pure suffering!"
From Shitou's tone, if he had eyes, he would surely be glaring at Lin with frustration.
Just as they were bickering, a sudden rumble echoed from afar. The booming sound was distant but still made their eardrums ache.
The voice startled Lin and Shitou, and soon Lin felt a tremendous shaking sensation as the ground swayed beneath his feet.
"What happened?"
"Volcanic eruption?"
Staring at Shitou's camera, Lin could see the confusion reflected in his own eyes. He furrowed his brows and looked up towards the distance.
That direction was across the Yang Lake, where the Super Ability Tiger Team and Hundred-Man Team were heading.
"It can't be a volcanic eruption. I've read the data on the Training Zone; the terrain here is very stable, and the only dangers come from those poisonous insects and fierce beasts."
Lin shook his head, feeling an ominous premonition. He quickly ran out of the forest, leaped twice to reach the top of a tall branch, and gazed into the distance.
Standing atop the branch, Lin could feel the continuous shaking even more intensely, as if the thick branches were being battered by a fierce wind.
Looking up into the distance, he saw a column of water shooting up from the edge of the horizon. It resembled the Dragon Absorbing Water phenomenon seen at sea.
The so-called Dragon Absorbing Water refers to a massive tornado sucking up seawater, creating a column that connects the sea surface with the sky, resembling a pillar from mythological tales.
However, the water column in the distance felt different to Lin. It wasn't just a simple case of Dragon Absorbing Water; the enormous splash at the top of the column indicated that it was being propelled by immense force.
Something must have occurred underwater to cause such an anomaly.
Moreover, considering the widely known "Yanghu Ancient Ruins Mission" that had been making headlines recently, it wasn't hard for Lin to deduce that this event was closely related to the Ancient Ruins, perhaps even indicating that... the Ancient Ruins had emerged!
"Is it that Ancient Ruins?"
Shitou flew beside Lin, his high-definition camera extended to its limit, clearly capturing the distant scene and presenting it before Lin.
In the scene, a massive water column erupts, and within it, various objects continuously emerge—rocks, boxes, and unknown instruments.
Around the water column, over a hundred martial artists are present; some are fleeing, some have been swallowed by the water column, while others watch from a distance, hesitant to approach.
"That's right. It seems they triggered some kind of device in the Ancient Ruins, which caused this phenomenon..."
Touching his chin, Lin focused intently on the scene and calmly analyzed it.
"Stop thinking about it. We need to find a flying vehicle quickly. Once the force of this device dissipates, that group will likely rush to seize the treasures in the Ancient Ruins. If we get there early, we might also get a share."
Following the suggestion from the stone, Lin raised his eyebrows and immediately opened the shop to search for suitable Aerial Vehicles.
After some searching, Lin ultimately decided on an Invisible Aircraft.
This flying machine belongs to the motorcycle category and uses anti-gravity flight principles. It resembles a Jet Ski and has armor plating that provides defense against attacks while also having stealth capabilities—truly the best choice for sneaking in to grab treasures!
Just as Lin climbed onto the Jet Ski and prepared to head toward the Ancient Ruins, his communicator began ringing incessantly.
His communicator was originally set to block signals, and due to the Training Zone simulating an outdoor environment, communication was limited; video calls were impossible, and messages could only be sent via email.
However, at this moment, a video call came through, leaving Lin momentarily stunned.
Opening the communicator, he was taken aback by the caller's name—it was the bearded Bai Quexin?
"Ding!" Without further thought, Lin felt anxious from the continuous vibrations urging him to answer the call.
On the screen was Bai Quexin, accompanied by Baixiang Teacher. Bai Quexin looked much better than before, but both of their faces showed signs of urgency.
"Are you still in the Training Zone? Are you near Yang Lake?"
Bai Quexin immediately bombarded Lin Xin with questions, making him feel increasingly tense. He had a vague sense that the situation at Yanghu Ruins was about to escalate.
"Yes, Teacher Bai, I came here to challenge myself. What's wrong?"
Lin hurriedly explained, feeling somewhat guilty as he lied.
"Did you see the tall water column in the center of Yang Lake?"
"Yes, I can see it, but I'm too far away to make out what's happening there..."
Lin furrowed his brow but quickly relaxed.
"Don't go near that water column! Whatever you do, don't go! There has been an incident at the Training Zone; it's very dangerous there right now. We're gathering personnel and will reach the Training Zone soon. The communication restrictions have been lifted, so send me your location immediately. I'll come to get you!"
With that, Bai Quexin hurriedly ended the call. Lin clearly saw in the camera that the short and stout principal was shouting, "Hurry up! Move!" as he walked past Bai Quexin.
After hanging up, Lin felt a bit dazed. He frowned as he looked at the distant water column, knowing this would turn into a major spectacle.
"What should we do now? The academy's higher-ups are already aware of this."
"Of course we go! Fortune favors the bold! If I take this risk, I can reach Thirty Levels faster!"
A wild gleam sparkled in Lin's eyes as he set his location next to the water column and sent it to Bai Quexin. Then he mounted his flying device and took off into the dust!
