Fatty stood proudly with his arms crossed, facing Yuming. His feet were constantly shifting, and his round belly shook with his movements, creating a rather comical sight.
"How about it, brother? Look at the prizes our platform has offered. Aren't they impressive?"
Fatty's nostrils flared as if to announce to everyone that these rare items belonged to him! Well, at least half of them did.
"Indeed, they are all great items, especially this vial of potion... It makes me want to buy it myself!"
Yuming was not just playing along with Fatty's bragging; these items were indeed rare. Although their quality wasn't that high, they were all produced by the Seventh-Level Civilization, which made them hard to come by in the Solar System.
The most powerful civilization currently in the Solar System was the Fifth-Level Civilization, which was a mix of technology and martial arts, falling somewhere in between within the Fifth-Level ranks.
In such a backward Star System, it was rare to see items from the Seventh-Level Civilization. Even if they did exist, they wouldn't be easily circulated, so it was no exaggeration to call these items "exquisite."
"What a useless potion! That's not my thing. Come on, brother, look at my High-Energy Ion Scattering Device! Let me tell you, this thing makes a 'tap tap tap' sound and even shoots blue flames! Not only is it powerful, but it also has an impressive flair!"
Fatty shook his body as he snatched the Growth Catalyst from Yuming's hand and tossed it into a cardboard box without realizing that this vial was the most valuable item among them.
He then showcased his High-Energy Ion Scattering Device to Yuming, boasting without noticing that Yuming's attention was elsewhere, completely absorbed in his own explanation.
"Hey, what are you showing off about now?"
Lin appeared out of nowhere. He saw Fatty displaying everything in front of Yuming while spitting out words excitedly and couldn't help but frown.
A common man is innocent, but possessing a treasure is a crime.
Lin knew all too well how many tragedies had been triggered by this reason. He despised showing off wealth in front of others.
"Bro! I..."
Fatty turned around with a big grin on his face. He was still caught up in his excitement, radiating an energetic vibe and eager to talk endlessly to anyone he met.
But when Fatty saw Lin's tense expression, his smile immediately faded into a thin line as he tightly shut his mouth, not daring to say another word. He realized that Lin was not pleased.
"Let's go, Warrior Exchange."
Lin said succinctly as he casually pulled the cardboard box from Fatty's arms and placed the High-Energy Ion Scattering Device into the box, sealing it tightly before stepping outside.
Fatty lowered his head, realizing where he had gone wrong, and dared not speak, silently following Lin.
Yuming felt a bit at a loss. He noticed that Lin's mood was off but couldn't figure out what had triggered this sudden change in him.
Just a moment ago, Lin had been fine, teaching him and Fatty how to "practice their skills," and now he was acting like this...
After thinking for a while, Yuming still couldn't make sense of it. By the time he looked up again, Lin and Fatty had already reached the door, so he had no choice but to nudge Glasses and hurry to catch up.
Yuming was perceptive and quietly followed behind Fatty. In this situation, even Fatty didn't dare to speak, so naturally, he wouldn't either; he was a clever person.
"Bang!"
Lin slammed the wooden door shut and used his rare iron key to lock it. This ancient lock had no real security features; it could only keep out good people.
From the force with which Lin closed the door, Fatty could tell that he was still angry. He had just wanted to say something but quickly withdrew his head instead.
After locking the door, Lin turned and walked away, ignoring everyone.
"Brother, are you guys heading to Warrior Exchange? I'm going that way too; I can give you a ride."
Yuming couldn't hold back any longer and called out. At this point, Lin and Fatty had already descended the steps and were striding toward Earthen Slope Street.
"No need."
Lin's tone was flat, his eyelids drooping as he kept his head down and walked forward, completely different from his earlier enthusiasm, leaving Yuming in shock.
Had he done something wrong? Why was Lin treating him like this?
Yuming felt somewhat unwilling. Even for that bowl of porridge, he had to find a way to bridge the gap with Lin. For a foodie like him, someone who could create exquisite dishes was like a great tree in their life; they were the vines that needed to entwine closely.
"Brother! I'm coming, is there still porridge to drink?"
Yuming shouted from behind, lowering his voice.
But this time, Lin did not respond; he only slowed his pace. After hesitating for a moment, he decided to turn back and take a look at Yuming, signaling him to come along.
He didn't want to easily give up on someone qualified to enjoy his dishes, especially someone like Yuming who deeply recognized his existence.
As Lin turned his head, he happened to see Fatty secretly gesturing to Yuming from behind, mouthing the words "Come over!"
Seeing Fatty's actions, Lin felt a weight lift off his shoulders. He turned back, paused for a moment, and let Fatty finish his gestures.
This was tantamount to tacitly approving Fatty's behavior; he believed Yuming would understand.
Behind them, Yuming wore a strange expression. He wanted to laugh at Fatty's comical gestures but couldn't bring himself to do so.
It wasn't until Fatty finished his gestures and matched the words with his lips that Lin lifted his foot and walked forward.
Fatty quickly followed suit. Although both remained silent, they maintained an absolute understanding of each other, knowing what the other was thinking without needing to say it.
It wasn't until the two of them walked far away and disappeared around the corner of Earthen Slope Street that Yuming withdrew his gaze. The light in his eyes flickered as he muttered, "Interesting, two interesting people..."
"Lin, you really are something else; you even dare to reject me... With a personality like yours, once you step out of Azure Planet, I wonder how many people will want to beat you up..."
After finishing his thought, Yuming looked up again at the corner where the two had vanished and sighed in admiration.
"You guys are heading to Warrior Exchange; you've just fallen into my trap. I don't believe you won't come looking for me in the future!"
Muttering to himself, Yuming curled the corners of his mouth into a sly smile as he walked toward the Hummer parked nearby.
...
Arriving at the Hummer, Yuming opened its smart system and said softly, "Dark Horse, help me call for assistance."
"Dark Horse is happy to serve the master!"
A blue Virtual Screen flashed on the front window of the vehicle, displaying the head of a black stallion, with a call interface below that showed the word "Assist."
"Beep beep beep..." The video call connected.
"Hello! BSS, what can I do for you?"
A man dressed in a black suit appeared on the screen, wearing black sunglasses, looking like an agent lurking in the crowd.
Yuming pushed up his gold-rimmed Glasses and said, "Help me activate the overall monitoring of Warrior Exchange. I need to inspect the work at the exchange today."
"Yes! BSS! Is there anything else?"
"That's all... Oh, right, if anyone named Lin or Chen Youliang logs into the System, keep a close watch on them and see what they want to do. Also, be polite. That's it, end the call."
"Understood! BSS!"
"Beep beep beep..."
The call ended. The black Hummer slowly started up, emitting a light blue flame from beneath its body as the engine roared to life.
"Boom!"
The blue flame shot out suddenly, and the black Hummer surged forward, speeding towards the low-altitude flight path outside Earth Slope Village.
...
The Hummer left with a roar, creating a wave of air that spread outwards, stirring up dust and debris, making it seem as if a sandstorm had swept through the area.
On the other side of the street, at Fatty Chen's home. If someone looked closely, they would notice that a gap had been quietly opened in the closed Shutter.
Morning Black Tower stood behind the window, watching the Hummer depart. His eyes narrowed, glinting with sharpness.
"Hi! After staying here for eighteen years, you all will eventually have to leave this old street..."
Morning Black Tower's tone was filled with nostalgia, his lips slightly downturned, carrying a hint of helplessness.
"Whoosh!"
The shutter was raised, and bright sunlight poured into the room, enveloping Morning Black Tower in a glow that made him appear almost ethereal.
"You've grown up; the old street can no longer bind you... just like Captain... New Star Domain is vast, yet it hasn't restrained his steps..."
"Perhaps, one day, you will walk out of the Solar System, out of the New Star Domain... towards that vast and enchanting sea of stars."
Morning Black Tower's gaze became distant as he recalled the past. Something glimmered in his eyes, surprising to see such a sentimental side from a man as imposing as a mountain.
Uncle Ta looked at the old street, where the morning light cast a lazy glow, making him feel a bit reluctant.
But Jin Yuming's appearance was already reminding him that his time had come; it was time to leave Lin Ta behind. In truth, it had been time for a while; he just didn't want to leave the old street, this comfortable life, or his children...
"Children, from now on, I wish you good luck..."
Then came Morning Black Tower's distant and heavy sigh.
