"White Team, we have found some information regarding the Zhao Tianlong Charity Foundation. Would you like to take a look?" a police officer approached Bai Zhi and whispered.
Bai Zhi took the tablet the officer handed over and carefully browsed through the information, her expression gradually becoming serious.
"Indeed, there are issues!" Bai Zhi closed the tablet, a glint of determination flashing in her eyes. "Notify everyone, and immediately launch an investigation into the Zhao Tianlong Charity Foundation. We must uncover the truth!"
"Understood!" The officer left to carry out the orders.
After the concert, Lu Yunting returned to the backstage lounge, where Uncle Wang immediately approached him, handing him a cup of warm water with concern. "Young Master, are you alright?"
Lu Yunting took the cup, had a sip, shook his head lightly, and said, "I'm fine, Uncle Wang. Make arrangements; I need to visit Zhao Tianlong tomorrow."
"Zhao Tianlong?" Uncle Wang was taken aback for a moment and asked in confusion, "What do you need to see him for?"
"There are some matters I need to clarify in person," Lu Yunting replied as he set down the cup, a hint of coldness in his eyes.
Early the next morning, Lu Yunting drove to Zhao Tianlong's villa with Uncle Wang.
"Mr. Lu, our master has been waiting for you in the study for quite some time. Please follow me," a middle-aged man resembling a butler said respectfully as he led Lu Yunting and Uncle Wang to the study on the second floor.
Lu Yunting nodded, signaling Uncle Wang to wait outside before he pushed open the door and entered alone.
Inside the study, Zhao Tianlong was sitting at a large desk, holding a glass of red wine and gazing thoughtfully out of the window, lost in his thoughts.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Zhao Tianlong turned around and saw Lu Yunting. A faint smile appeared on his face as he said, "Yunting, long time no see. Please, have a seat."
Lu Yunting did not respond and walked straight to the chair opposite the desk, fixing a sharp gaze on Zhao Tianlong. He got straight to the point and said, "Mr. Zhao, I want to know why you did this."
Zhao Tianlong's smile stiffened for a moment but quickly returned to normal. He feigned ignorance and asked, "Yunting, what are you talking about? I don't understand."
Lu Yunting let out a cold laugh and threw several photos onto the desk in front of Zhao Tianlong. The photos clearly showed evidence of Zhao Tianlong conducting illegal genetic experiments using a charitable foundation.
"Do I need to explain these?" Lu Yunting's tone was icy, his gaze sharp as he stared directly into Zhao Tianlong's eyes.
Zhao Tianlong's expression changed drastically, panic flashing in his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure. He swept the photos onto the floor and shouted angrily, "Nonsense! Lu Yunting, stop slandering me! I, Zhao Tianlong, am upright and proper; how dare you falsely accuse me?"
"Is that so?" Lu Yunting remained unfazed and took out a miniature voice recorder from his pocket, placing it gently on the table. "I think this should prove what I'm saying."
The voice recorder played back a man's voice—Zhao Tianlong's confidant—reporting on the progress of the genetic experiments and how they were using the charitable foundation to cover their tracks. It even mentioned Lu Yunting's mother's death.
Zhao Tianlong's face turned ashen, veins bulging on his forehead. He suddenly stood up, pointing at Lu Yunting and gritting his teeth as he said, "You, Lu Yunting, dare to scheme against me!"
"I am just seeking justice for my mother!" Lu Yunting also stood up, fearlessly meeting Zhao Tianlong's gaze. "You caused her death and expect to get away with it? Today, I will make you pay for your blood debts!"
"Is that all you've got?" Zhao Tianlong sneered, suddenly pressing a button on the table.
The walls of the study slowly closed in, transforming into a sealed space. At the same time, the lights on the ceiling went out, replaced by flashing red alarm lights.
"Activate the defense system!" Zhao Tianlong's voice sounded particularly chilling in the darkness.
"Young Master, be careful!" Uncle Wang's anxious shout came from outside, followed by a violent banging sound.
