Chapter Four Hundred and Two:
However, there is one thing she is certain of.
These so-called worlds do indeed exist in the form of planets.
As for whether they all exist within a single universe, there is no data or evidence to support that.
After thinking for a while, Freya stretched out her hands. Her fair hands felt crystal clear within the Time-Space Portal, as if they were a perfect piece of craftsmanship.
"It's not just the Second Form drawing closer to the true King Cobra; my body is also becoming increasingly perfect. This is a manifestation of the body's instinct to eliminate various flaws as my power increases. I believe that if I completely absorb the other three avatars, I can achieve the energy required for the condensation of the Second Form. But then what?"
Freya withdrew her hands, feeling somewhat lost within the Time-Space Portal.
If everything went according to her plan, after reaching the Second Form of King Cobra and undergoing a period of adjustment, the World Power of the Wizarding World would manifest itself to her in a tangible way.
At the same time, numerous rules of the Wizarding World would be presented before her.
In contrast, she would also bear countless meanings that King Cobra once carried.
"This is how one adheres to the rules of the Wizarding World. To gain something, one must pay a price. While gaining power, one must also fulfill their obligations; nothing is obtained without reason. But is this really the path I want to take?"
Although this question had existed in Freya's heart for a long time, it was only now that she brought it up at this level.
"The World Power could truly make me a god-like existence, but the rules of the Wizarding World would forever bind me within it. Is there really no way to resolve this?"
Freya took out the Key of Life she had just obtained from her waist. The woman at the end of the key had died when leaving that world, yet the immense life energy still resided within this key.
The soul had dissipated, but its vessel remained in Freya's hand.
Looking at the key in her hand, Freya frowned.
After a long while, she put away the keys and raised her head, the slightly dazed expression from earlier now gone.
Pausing for a moment, Freya began to search for the coordinates of the third avatar she had sent out.
In the basement of the villa, amidst countless upright Black Crystal Pillars, a burst of silver light suddenly erupted.
Freya slowly emerged from the silver light.
Her green hair flowed wildly, and streams of Chaotic Power from the time-space made the entire basement shimmer with intense heat.
A faint hissing sound echoed as tiny cracks began to appear on the walls of the basement. The Defensive Rune Array was nearing its limit, on the verge of shattering.
Stepping out of the Silver Light Sphere, Freya turned around and casually pinched at the silver light.
With a snap, the Light Sphere immediately contracted, soon forming an inconspicuous silver dot that appeared at Freya's fingertip.
She tucked this silver dot into her waist and glanced at the Crystal Clock placed in the basement.
"Oh? What time is it? It seems just right."
Turning back to look at the youthful appearance of the Tree of Life, she pondered for a moment. Freya took out the Key of Life and walked over to the ancient tree with a smile.
"I don't need this for now; I'll leave it here with you. How much you can absorb depends on you. Consider it compensation for all the help you've given me over the years."
It seemed that she could hear Freya's words. The previously still Tree of Life trembled slightly twice, and a tender green branch slowly drooped down from the branches, curling around the key in Freya's hand.
Then it gradually retracted back into the dense foliage.
Watching the key disappear into the branches, Freya withdrew her gaze and walked out of the basement.
The midday sun was not very intense under the shade of the trees. As Freya stepped out of the basement, her fingertips suddenly flickered with a light Azure Light, which was a message transmitted from the Secret Mark.
"Freya, I've already made arrangements here. We've secured twenty-five percent of the speaking rights. If nothing unexpected happens, by tomorrow, you will be the new Deputy Director of my Rune Department."
This was Seth's voice.
"Teacher, I have completed my studies on Aesker's Array Law. I would like to exchange some first-level plant cultivation Rune Array blueprints with you within a month."
This was the voice of her only disciple, Wen Li.
"Lady Freya, the Defensive Rune Array in Practice Room No. 4 has been dismantled by that group again. Please make sure to send someone over for repairs as soon as possible."
This was a work-related matter.
Messages flowed into her mind through the mental link, giving Freya a sense of calm fulfillment.
Wizards of Transcendence were often synonymous with solitude, taking it upon themselves to pursue truth while frequently walking on the edge of danger and death.
But what lay behind these transmissions? After all, the strength of a world depends not only on its World Power but also on whether the civilization within it is sufficiently developed.
Knowledge and truth are obtained through learning, research, and mutual communication, while civilization is built up from numerous factors.
If killing could lead to strength, then such strength would merely be an empty facade.
As Freya replied to the messages in the Secret Mark, she walked through one corridor after another.
Walking along a cobblestone path, she arrived at the preserved lakeside.
The water in the lake rippled gently, revealing various aquatic creatures living beneath the surface.
Freya sat down on a bench by the lake, quietly enjoying this rare moment of tranquility.
In the azure sky, white elongated airships occasionally flew by, their sides adorned with large striped banners. Colorful streamers mixed with vibrant flyers drifted out from the back of the ships.
It was probably another advertisement for a shop opening from some merchant guild.
Freya gently closed her eyes, releasing a bit of the suppressed breath within her.
The powerful sensing ability of King Cobra immediately spread discreetly throughout the vast Blood Eagle City.
She seemed to see the busy residents living in this city, with wide roads filled with newly developed vehicles.
In the distance, within a building that resembled a school, young faces were diligently learning the knowledge presented in class.
Meanwhile, in the Rune Department of Blood Eagle Territory, Wen Li was sitting in the director's office, racking his brain to handle what should have been Freya's work.
Further away, in a laboratory, wizards dressed in White Robes were researching something, occasionally comparing data in their hands.
Seeing these scenes unfold, Freya's lips curled slightly.
A thought crossed her mind, and all the images suddenly vanished. Thin Lines intertwined within her vision appeared before her.
These dense Thin Lines flickered with various colors of fluorescence, rapidly transmitting information that supported the operation of everything in this world.
With her eyes still closed, Freya slowly extended her hand. Countless Thin Lines were faintly entwined around her fingers as well.
She tried to gently nudge one of them.
"Ding!"
A crisp sound echoed in her ears.
In the clear blue sky, wisps of gray clouds slowly began to gather.
Before long, fine raindrops started to fall upon the city.
She adjusted the Thin Line two more times, and the gray clouds miraculously dissipated.
Lowering her hand, Freya felt a daze. Through the gaps in the Thin Line, she unexpectedly saw overlapping images. They were unfamiliar faces and voices.
It seemed to be complaints about the sudden rain.
She opened her eyes. Her bright blue pupils slightly contracted, then transformed into yellow Slit Pupils, followed by a colorless green. Then it filled with white, and finally returned to its original blue.
Freya gently clenched her fist, stood up from the bench, and curiously looked at the part of the Thin Line she controlled.
"After completely absorbing the five avatars, I can feel a part of this world's rules gradually aligning with me, allowing me to indirectly control them. It's not merely witchcraft or the power of Bloodline. However, I'm still a bit short; let me handle recent matters first."
Retrieving her hand, she gazed at the calm lake, her bright blue eyes lost in thought...
Later.
In the highest conference room of the Blood Eagle Territory.
Several high-ranking members of the Red Robe were seated in the large conference hall.
Five elders dressed in Red Robe with golden trims slowly walked to the podium at the front of the hall.
Freya and Seth sat in a corner, quietly watching as several elders took their seats.
Aside from their silver hair and aged faces, the passage of decades seemed to have left little mark on these elders.
The lifespan of a Dawn Level wizard far exceeds that of an ordinary wizard, and among some wizards, even if their physical bodies are destroyed, they can survive in other forms of life.
Transcendence, the Grand Elder of Blood Eagle Territory, had already changed bodies twice in his lifetime, both due to perishing in battle.
They took their seats at the podium, followed by the highest-ranking ministers from several departments.
From a distance, Freya noticed Meilong among them; her appearance today seemed meticulously crafted.
The once wrinkled face had vanished, replaced by a youthful visage that looked about twenty-three or twenty-four years old. Her silver hair had transformed into a fiery red, tied back behind her.
If it weren't for the robe representing the Runes Department Head she wore, no one would have remembered that she was once Meilong.
Beside her, Seth watched the people walking toward the stage and couldn't help but admire them slightly.
"I didn't expect Minister Melong to be so beautiful when she was young. I really don't understand why she always presented herself as so aged before."
"Heh." Freya chuckled but did not respond to this question.
Suddenly, she seemed to recall something and turned to look at Seth.
"By the way, I remember that Minister Melong seems to be from your family. I still don't understand why you were so eager to recommend me for Deputy Director."
Upon hearing Freya's inquiry, Seth paused for a moment before continuing.
"Actually, this issue involves an unspoken rule in our Blood Eagle Territory. Once someone reaches a ministerial level or higher, they automatically sever ties with their original family or other factions. This regulation was established by the Elder Council to prevent organizational corruption. As you know, we also come from a branch of Elder Three, but Elder Three has provided us with almost no assistance. Even now, our family is gradually declining."
"I see; I understand now." Freya nodded.
It seems that there are fundamental reasons for the development of Blood Eagle Territory to this extent.
When Da reached a certain height within the organization, the interests of the organization completely became his own interests, erasing everything that had come before.
According to Freya, many Wizard Organizations have implemented such regulations, but very few have truly succeeded.
After all, while they may say this, in reality, if a major crisis were to arise within their family or if there were irreconcilable conflicts between the family's interests and those of the organization, could those in high positions really stand by and treat the situation with impartiality?
During their conversation, a crisp knocking sound suddenly echoed from the podium, followed by a loud voice that filled the entire conference hall.
"The Blood Eagle Territory's triennial summary meeting is now starting. Next up is the speech from the Grand Elder."
The grim-faced Grand Elder slowly stood up and began to discuss the recent developments and future prospects of the Blood Eagle Territory, as well as the current situation in Cloud City.
Everyone below listened attentively, with some wizards even taking out notebooks to record important information.
After several elders spoke, it was time for the heads of various departments and other high-ranking members of the Blood Eagle Territory.
This included details such as awards and verbal commendations.
When it was time for the Rune Department, Minister Meilong stood up with a speech in hand.
After summarizing a series of recent developments in the Rune Department, Meilong slowly said,
"Based on a fair vote from all members of my Rune Department, the position of Deputy Director has now been granted to Wizard Freya Green. Please congratulate her. To ensure fairness, the voting data has been distributed in your Secret Marks; if you have any questions, please check it after the meeting."
Immediately, all wizards from the Rune Department turned their gazes toward Freya.
Under their scrutiny, Freya stood up from her seat and gracefully nodded to those around her.
Meilong continued, "Now please welcome Freya to the stage."
Freya walked around several wizards and slowly made her way to the podium.
Meilong took out a red box from behind and gently opened it, revealing a red seal engraved with Crimson Giant Eagle. This seal represents the authority of the Rune Department Deputy Director.
Handing the box to Freya, Meilong smiled slightly.
"Congratulations, Freya, you are the most promising wizard I have ever seen. Don't let me down."
"I won't," Freya replied with a smile.
She walked down from the podium with the box and returned to her seat amidst the various gazes of the wizards in the Rune Department.
Seth looked at the Deputy Director seal in the box and quietly said with a smile, "How do you feel now, Deputy Vice Minister?"
Looking speechlessly at Seth's teasing, Freya casually placed the seal back into her waist pouch.
"Anyway, it's not me who will be busy later; it's Wen Li." (To be continued...)
