Chapter Two Hundred Forty-Three:
Three hours later.
Noon.
The sky was somewhat overcast, with a few large black birds occasionally sweeping through the clouds.
On the Crimson Plain, two Black Carriages were slowly traveling along a yellow-brown road, swayed by the cool breeze.
The carriages were quite ordinary, but on the side, there was a large white crescent emblem, simple yet elegant.
The interior of the carriage was luxurious and spacious, with a round table in the middle. On the table were three cups of refreshing tea.
A peculiar wind chime, tied with a red string, hung by one of the windows, producing a pleasant tinkling sound as the carriage swayed.
Dressed in an ordinary white robe without any identifying marks, Freya sat quietly at the back of the carriage, smiling as she sipped her drink.
A light mint flavor mixed with cream filled her mouth.
Opposite her sat a handsome young man in a blue Robe, speaking to both of them.
Next to this young man was a mysterious figure wrapped entirely in a black cloak.
"That place is somewhere I stumbled upon during my apprenticeship three years ago. It's quite special, and I doubt any other Wizard Organization has discovered it. I went there once back then, so you can rest assured," said the young man in the blue robe, who was none other than Roy, previously in contact with Freya.
The mysterious person next to him, completely wrapped up, was also someone who had come through the information from the Trading Tower, just like Freya.
After taking another sip of her drink, Freya placed the cup on the table and complimented, "Oh, that is truly your luck. I am very curious about the ancient ruins here in Cloud City. Could you share more? You know, I've only been here for a short three months, and there are many things I am still unclear about."
"Of course," Roy replied, clearly pleased with Freya's respectful attitude. He cleared his throat and said, "To talk about ancient ruins, we must start from the Ancient Times of Cloud City."
As Freya listened to the information Roy was sharing, she discreetly glanced at the Black-Robed Mysterious Person.
Roy had recruited a total of five people for this expedition. Among them, three were Official Wizards, sitting alone in this carriage.
Freya had tested Roy's level through special means and found that he was merely an ordinary wizard who had just undergone Vaporization and specialized in Ice Element.
However, the mysterious person seemed to have used some kind of isolation item that allowed them to evade Freya's detection.
Although this person had not spoken a word from the beginning and made every effort to conceal themselves, Freya could still faintly sense a strong smell of blood and intense malice from having killed too many people emanating from them.
Just sitting in the same carriage caused her own defensive power to automatically tighten around her, clearly indicating that she was under some form of stimulus.
This made Freya feel a vague sense of worry about whether this journey would encounter unforeseen events.
'After all, Venomous Lizard Flower Petal is just an ordinary material. Once we enter underground and obtain the Pistil, I can simply withdraw; I doubt anyone would object.'
She knew that due to having consumed the potion earlier, her time was extremely precious and could not afford any mistakes.
Originally, she joined just to save some Magic Stones, but she didn't expect to encounter this type of person, which made her feel a bit troubled.
The Roy across from her seemed to be a talkative wizard, and he was more than willing to answer Freya's questions.
Moreover, based on some key information, the authenticity of Roy's claims appeared to be quite substantial.
"The large secret realms of Cloud City were formed this way. However, due to the territorial overlaps between various Wizard Organizations and other reasons, most of the richer Ancient Secret Realm Ruins have become private property. This actually includes some fissures and mineral deposits from other worlds."
"I see," Freya said, her expression showing that she understood as she nodded heavily.
"Hehe." Seeing Freya's reaction, Roy smiled proudly and added, "However, while most resources are monopolized by the Wizard Organizations, there are still many undiscovered secrets in Cloud City's realms due to the brilliance of Ancient Times. The one I discovered is one of them."
"That's true. If it weren't for that, some unorganized Wandering Wizards would probably find it very difficult to advance," Freya remarked with a hint of emotion in her tone.
"That's only natural." Roy seemed to recall something and nodded in agreement. "I once spent some time training outside during my apprenticeship. Understanding the difficulties of being a wizard without any organizational support is nearly impossible. For a bit of scarce resources, you have to fight tooth and nail just like the savage Dark Wizards. At that time, I even began to understand how the atmosphere of the Black Wizarding Area was formed; it was entirely due to the environment."
"Well," Freya smiled noncommittally at Roy's words.
The smooth road outside began to turn rugged, and the carriage gently swayed.
Freya leaned out of the carriage and saw a vast expanse of dark green forest slowly rising from the horizon, rippling as the wind blew through it.
She squinted slightly and could vaguely see three low windmills slowly turning at the edge of the forest, with some small figures busily working on something.
After a long while, she withdrew her gaze and spoke softly.
"This is already the Chikno Forest, so we should be able to reach the Secret Realm Entrance by tonight."
Roy nodded in agreement.
"Yes, if nothing unexpected happens, we should arrive around that time. However, the opening time for the Secret Realm Entrance is fixed, around four in the morning. This is based on my multiple explorations afterward. Even if we get there, we won't be able to enter."
"Is that so?" Freya frowned.
Her time was particularly tight now; any delay could lead to negative consequences.
"Yes, there is a town not far from the secret realm where we can rest for the night and head over directly tomorrow morning."
"Then there's no choice but to do that," Freya said helplessly.
The secret realm was discovered by Roy alone. He had already explored it many times, but due to his limited strength, his investigation of the secret realm was also quite restricted. However, he still knew some basic information very well.
According to him, the secret realm was divided into five major areas, with the outermost area being the Cultivation Area, which he had transformed. Inside, there were various rare Magical Plants and guardians, as well as a few Poison Lizards that had migrated from underground.
Freya planned to exit directly after obtaining the Pistil if things went poorly, but if everything went smoothly, she could explore further. (To be continued...)
