The sunlight after the rain mixed with a damp scent, shining through the white patterned curtains onto the pale-faced girl lying on the bed. 0

The girl appeared to be only around fourteen or fifteen years old, her golden long hair spread out on the pillow like a sleeping beauty, but her head was wrapped in a circle of bandages, faintly carrying a bitter medicinal smell. 0

The warm touch of the sunlight felt comfortable, but the pain in her head made her furrow her brows. 0

Zhang Lin struggled to open her eyes and touched the bandage on her head, but what came into view was a strange room. 0

This was a spacious and bright bedroom. 0

There was a bed, a small wardrobe, two white High-Back Chairs, and a white Writing Desk. 0

"What is this place?" 0

In this unfamiliar room, in this strange place, with the bandage on her head, she suddenly seemed to realize something and hurriedly scanned her body. 0

At some point, her original clothes had been replaced with a white silk nightgown, and a thin blanket covered her. 0

Her once mature body now felt unusually thin. 0

"What’s going on?" 0

The changes in her body caused her already aching head to feel dizzy. Suddenly, a strong tearing sensation surged from her brain, flooding it with large chunks of memories. 0

The intense pain made her eyes roll back, and she collapsed straight down. In the haze, she vaguely heard a gasp. 0

Time seemed to stretch indefinitely. 0

Zhang Lin slowly opened her eyes once more. 0

Her mind was filled with many new memories, those of a country noble named Freya Green. 0

In these memories, Freya Green lived in a world reminiscent of medieval Europe. 0

Born in a medium-sized country called Byron Kingdom, her family's estate, the Green Family, was located on the border with the neighboring Saladin Kingdom. Her father, Baron Green, was responsible for guarding this area. 0

However, due to a vast forest known as Walter that separated their territory from Saladin Kingdom, Freya believed there was little danger aside from the occasional fleeing refugees escaping from the woods. 0

Yet it was this very belief that led the originally lively Freya to ignore warnings and ride alone into the forest to hunt. Unfortunately, she encountered an attack by refugees and fell from her horse, giving Zhang Lin an opportunity to take over. 0

"I really have crossed over," Zhang Lin said, rubbing her head in disbelief. 0

Perhaps due to the location of her family's estate, her father Baron Green's territory was much larger than his title suggested, including three large farms and five villages. The population of the territory was estimated to be around five thousand each year. 0

At that moment, she found herself in one of her family's properties in the town. 0

Just as Zhang Lin was sorting through the chaotic memories in her mind, a sudden noise interrupted her thoughts. 0

Creak. 0

The door opened. 0

A solemn-faced, tall middle-aged man dressed in black Noble Attire with golden hair strode in. 0

Behind him followed a frail old man in gray linen clothing, carrying a brown leather case. 0

In Freya's memory, this tall middle-aged man was her father, Baron Green. 0

"Father." 0

Zhang Lin hurriedly tried to get up from the bed, wanting to greet him in the usual manner Freya would. 0

A large hand pressed down on Zhang Lin, preventing her from rising. 0

"Don't move! Doctor Kaila, please check her." The deep voice carried a hint of anger as Baron Green frowned at his daughter and spoke to the old man behind him. 0

"Yes, my lord." 0

Upon hearing Baron’s command, the elderly man named Kaila quickly opened the case he was carrying and took out medical instruments before approaching the bedside. 0

While the doctor examined her, Zhang Lin rapidly recalled memories of her father. 0

Andrei Green, forty years old, a Baron of the Empire and the lord of this territory. To outsiders, he was synonymous with brutality and bloodlust, but at this moment, he was just an ordinary father concerned for his daughter's safety. 0

"My lord, aside from a scrape on her head, there are no other issues. She just needs to rest," Kaila reported respectfully after a quick examination. 0

Hearing Kaila's words, Baron's furrowed brows relaxed, and he waved for her to leave. 0

Once the door was closed, Baron walked over to the bedside. 0

"Freya, I've told you many times, do not go hunting in the forest alone. If you must go, take a guard with you! The dangers there are not just from the outcasts!" His deep voice carried a seriousness that made Zhang Lin realize how serious her mistake was this time. 0

"I know I was wrong, Father," Zhang Lin said, lowering her head unconsciously, her voice trembling with guilt. 0

"A girl falls from a galloping horse and only suffers a little scrape; it seems your mother is also protecting you." Seeing his daughter looking down in guilt, Baron felt a pang of pain in his heart and reached out to gently stroke her hair. 0

"You are almost fifteen now. I plan to send you to Noble Academy in Kent City soon. Your brother is useless; all my hopes are on you. If anything were to happen to you, I can't even imagine..." 0

Baron sighed at this point, falling into deep thought and no longer speaking. 0

Feeling the warmth above her head, Zhang Lin also learned some things about her father through Freya's memories. 0

Her father, who was brutal and cold-blooded to outsiders, was exceptionally sincere towards her. Compared to the decadence of other nobles, Baron had only four children in his lifetime. 0

His eldest son had long ago answered the empire's call and went to the front lines of war, with very little hope of survival. 0

His second daughter had married far away to a wealthy merchant from another country years ago. 0

The third daughter was Freya, while the fourth son was an outright incompetent scoundrel. 0

Although Baron had many wives and concubines, his feelings for the other three children were genuine, except for the fourth son. 0

At this moment, only Freya remained by Baron’s side, so all of Baron’s hopes were placed on her, even though she was a woman. 0

As long as it was Freya's request, he would do his utmost to fulfill it. Perhaps it was this kind of indulgence that led to Freya's rebellious nature. 0

After a long silence, Baron withdrew his hand. 0

"Freya, I have already lost the most important woman in my life. I do not want to lose you too. If there is a next time, you know the consequences." 0

His slightly cold tone made Zhang Lin instinctively shrink back. This time, nearly losing her life ignited true anger in Baron, who had always been exceptionally fond of her. 0

"I understand, Father." 0

"Alright, you are still very weak. Rest well. In the afternoon, I will have Ham bring people to take you back." Baron nodded, patted her shoulder, and stood up to leave. 0

The bedroom door slammed shut. 0

Zhang Lin let out a sigh of relief. Although she could feel Baron's affection for her, she also sensed the pressure behind that affection. 0

Lying back down on the bed, Zhang Lin continued to sort through Freya's memories. 0
