Looking ahead at the wide road, Lingfeng felt a sense of confusion.
At this moment, Lingfeng was somewhat angry. In his view, Elder Yang was indeed a bit unreasonable. Of course, he himself had come in too much of a hurry and had not made sufficient preparations in advance; at the very least, he should have brought some water!

What frustrated Lingfeng was that the Fire Mice also sensed the presence of Spiritual Energy. They were ancient beasts and should have lived in ancient volcanoes, so their sensitivity to Spiritual Energy was quite strong.
Of course, Lingfeng did not intend to engage with them; as long as they did not pose a threat to him, he would not take action against them.
Indeed, those Fire Mice targeted only that beam of Spiritual Energy. Since Fire Mice could traverse both land and fire simultaneously, their speed far exceeded Lingfeng's. In no time at all, they had already run ahead of him.

What made Lingfeng even more frustrated was that the guiding light disappeared right within the Fire Sea.
"Fortunately, I learned the Fire Control Technique; otherwise, even wearing the skin of a Fire Mouse wouldn't guarantee I could enter," Lingfeng thought with relief. He then gathered his Spiritual Energy and silently recited the Fire Protection Incantation. Immediately beneath his feet flickered a spark of fire as a ball of flame surrounded him—this was the Fire Release Technique.
Fire Release not only helps Lingfeng withstand external attacks but also allows Lingfeng to walk through ordinary flames. The flames here are all ordinary; if it were Three Flavors True Fire, Lingfeng would have turned to ashes long ago.
With the protection of Fire Release, Lingfeng boldly stepped into the Fire Sea.
Lingfeng thought this would lead to finding the Fire Protection Formation, but he did not realize that the real challenge was just beginning.
Since entering Blazing Hell, Lingfeng had already spent nearly four and a half hours. He needed to find the Fire Protection Formation within seven and a half hours and successfully exit Blazing Hell.

If he continued searching blindly like this, it seemed unlikely that Lingfeng would be able to make it back to the Underworld.

The Fire Phoenix, being made of fire, naturally would not fear flames. However, Lingfeng was uncertain whether the Fire Phoenix could understand his commands like a living creature.
But now there was no other option; he had to gamble on the Fire Phoenix.
Without delay, Lingfeng used the surrounding flames to summon the Fire Phoenix.
He could not see the form of the Fire Phoenix, only swirling flames before him. However, he could hear its hoarse yet excited voice echoing in his ears, clearly indicating that the Fire Phoenix had merged with the flames.
“Fire Phoenix, go help me find the location of the Fire Protection Formation!” Without thinking too much, Lingfeng commanded the flames before him.
The Fire Phoenix called out in response, and then Lingfeng heard a flurry of wingbeats before everything around him fell silent once again.
"Can't keep wasting time like this, I need to return to the shore and regain my strength!" With that thought, Lingfeng turned around and walked towards the shore.
Although Lingfeng couldn't see the path, he had gained experience from before and was able to rely on his instincts to navigate easily. He reached the shore in just half an hour.
Stepping out of the Fire Sea, a refreshing sensation spread throughout Lingfeng's body. Although the flames were still raging behind him, it felt much cooler outside compared to inside the Fire Sea.
In order to quickly recover his magical power, Lingfeng took a Mystic Liao Golden Pill and then sat cross-legged to meditate. After half an hour, he felt that his physical strength had mostly returned. However, the Spiritual Energy he had consumed could not be replenished so quickly. Fortunately, he was still able to use Fire Release once.
Another half hour passed when suddenly a series of screeches erupted from the Fire Sea, followed by flames surging up high, reaching several feet above their previous height.
Lingfeng gasped in shock and hurriedly stepped back to avoid being engulfed by a tongue of fire.
"What is that? How can it have such immense power?" Lingfeng wiped away a cold sweat, feeling much cooler as he realized he had been frightened.
"Ga..."
Another screech rang out, and suddenly a chasm appeared in the Fire Sea, extending right beneath Lingfeng's feet, as if a blocked passage had opened up in the middle of the Fire Sea.
Lingfeng stared in astonishment at the scene before him. Just as he was at a loss for what to do, a massive flame shot towards him. The force seemed intent on surrounding him in fire.
"Oh no, I've provoked everyone!" With very little magical power left, Lingfeng dared not provoke any spirit beasts. Without thinking further, he began to run back.
However, he did not expect that the creatures behind him were much faster than him and instantly surrounded him in flames.
To Lingfeng's surprise, he did not feel any heat; instead, there was a sense of comfort and safety.
Lingfeng held his breath as if embraced by this unknown spirit beast, which seemed reluctant to let go.
After a while, the flames around Lingfeng began to slowly recede, gradually forming a shape—a bird-like figure, a giant bird.
Lingfeng carefully observed this creature before him and was astonished to find that it was the Fire Phoenix standing in front of him.
When it had left before, it was only the size of a rooster; now the Fire Phoenix was nearly the same size as Lingfeng. Such rapid growth was truly bizarre and left Lingfeng speechless.
"You and I..." Lingfeng was unsure whether it was his cultivation that had improved again or if the Fire Phoenix had encountered the fire seed from Blazing Hell, causing its size to increase.
Just now, the Fire Phoenix's playful demeanor made Lingfeng think that the Fire Phoenix before him was a real phoenix with blood. In reality, it was merely a Fire Phoenix that Lingfeng had transformed using the Fire Control Technique.

In fact, this passageway was created by the Fire Phoenix using the Fire Control Technique. Its rapid growth to this extent was entirely due to the flames that burned year-round in Blazing Hell. Although the flames here were not as potent as Three Flavors True Fire, they had developed into Pure Yin Fire Seed due to being deprived of sunlight for so long.
