Lingfeng did not know who Man Qing's disciple was or how to deal with this person. However, since the All-Knowing wanted to find the Demon Relic, he had to rely on this individual, so Lingfeng could only respond to changes with consistency.
The two stood outside the wooden palace, not intending to enter.
Lingfeng felt a bit strange and glanced at the All-Knowing, but saw no expression on his face.
After a while, there was a loud sound as the wooden palace's doors suddenly swung open, revealing a dazzling golden light inside, reminiscent of the Western Thunder Sound Temple.
The All-Knowing chuckled softly and whispered to Lingfeng, “Man Qing's disciple is named Man Bu She, which means extravagant. Although his name suggests luxury, he is not extravagant towards outsiders. However, he enjoys a lavish lifestyle himself. The exterior of the Barbarian Sect's main hall may not look impressive, but inside it is made of top-quality gold!”
Lingfeng was speechless with surprise. Although the interior of the hall was illuminated by sunlight and gleamed brightly, obscuring its details, Lingfeng could still sense the luxurious arrangement within.
Though the Barbarian Sect was located in the Barbarian Lands, the area was rich in minerals, providing Man Bu She with the resources to construct such an opulent palace.
Since Man Qing's death, Man Bu She had taken full charge of the major affairs of the Barbarian Sect. Eventually, when Man Pillar disappeared without a trace, Man Bu She decided to assume the position of sect leader himself. Since then, he began implementing his vision of luxury, using vast amounts of money to decorate the main hall and even moved into it himself.
Lingfeng was unsure what kind of situation Man Bu She had created; he simply opened the large door but found no one coming out to greet them.
After a moment, the All-Knowing scratched his head impatiently and grumbled, “Old man Man Bu She, since you’ve opened the door, why don’t you invite me in?”
“Ha ha ha! The All-Knowing hasn’t changed a bit after all these years!” A clear and resonant laughter came from inside the main hall, indicating that it belonged to someone of considerable cultivation.
The All-Knowing stood there with crossed arms and raised his nose, saying, “Old man, if you’re not afraid I’ll dirty your Golden Palace, I’ll go in!”
Man Bu She remained silent for a moment before a beam of white light shot out from the Golden Palace, resembling a strip of white silk that directly spread across the ground.
Lingfeng understood that this was likely some kind of Spell, or perhaps white silk crafted directly from Spiritual Energy. Man Bu She’s action was probably meant to showcase his achievements in cultivation.
The All-Knowing One laughed heartily, then nonchalantly stood on the white silk and nodded towards Lingfeng.
Lingfeng understood and also stepped onto the white silk.
The white silk made from Spiritual Energy was not only soft and comfortable to step on, but it also felt light, giving a sensation of standing on clouds.
As soon as Lingfeng stepped on it, the white silk floated up into the air, heading towards the main hall.
The All-Knowing One remained composed and flew into the main hall with Lingfeng. In the main hall, a frail middle-aged man sat on a golden chair, appearing to be in his forties.
The All-Knowing One did not greet him but casually glanced around before saying, "Old man here, it’s only been a few years since we last met, and you’ve become so successful. Yet you haven’t gained any weight; you still look as cunning as ever!"
Lingfeng carefully observed Man Bu She and indeed noticed that his eyes sparkled with shrewdness, making him seem quite treacherous.
"You’ve finally obtained the position of Sect Leader of the Barbarian Sect!" the All-Knowing One continued.
Man Bu She smiled and unabashedly replied, "I have to thank that Nameless Brother; if he hadn’t killed my senior brother, I probably wouldn’t have been able to ascend to the position of Sect Leader!"
Lingfeng was taken aback, not expecting this person to be so outspoken and unafraid of revealing his thoughts about his fellow disciples. However, he was quite candid in expressing his true feelings.
The All-Knowing One laughed heartily again and waved his hand, causing the white silk beneath their feet to vanish without a trace.
Lingfeng was puzzled; Man Bu She had conjured the white silk for them to step on, clearly not wanting them to dirty his Golden Brick Floor. Yet the All-Knowing One had scattered it, leaving Lingfeng unsure of his intentions.
Just as they were about to land, Man Bu She flashed a hint of displeasure. However, Lingfeng then felt himself landing once more on a soft object. Looking down, he was surprised to see that it was a gigantic Mandala Demon Flower.
Man Bu She saw this and laughed heartily, repeatedly saying, “Brother, your magic has improved!”
It turned out that Wan Shi Tong was competing with Man Bu She in Spell.
However, Lingfeng had his own thoughts. The purpose of their trip to Barbarian Sect was to find out the whereabouts of the Demon Relic. If Wan Shi Tong continued to compete with him in Spell, it might anger Man Bu She, making it impossible to learn about the Demon Relic from him.
After hearing Man Bu She's words, Wan Shi Tong smiled and clasped his fists, saying, “You flatter me!”
Man Bu She then looked at Lingfeng and asked meaningfully, “Brother, have you taken on a disciple?”
Before Wan Shi Tong could respond, Lingfeng hurriedly said, “Wan Shi Tong is my elder brother, Fifth Element. I have long heard of your great name and came here to pay my respects!”
There was no hint of humility in Lingfeng's words; he raised his status quite high.
With his Spell being broken, Man Bu She felt somewhat displeased. Hearing a child call him elder brother only fueled his anger. A shadow crossed Man Bu She's face as he sternly shouted, “You little brat, how dare you speak so arrogantly? It’s Wan Shi Tong’s business to call himself your elder brother; how dare you take advantage of me!”
“Old man, how is my younger brother taking advantage of you? By rights, since we are of similar age, if this younger one calls me elder brother, he should also call you elder brother!” Wan Shi Tong replied nonchalantly, playfully trying to smooth things over for Lingfeng.
However, Man Bu She did not buy Wan Shi Tong's argument. He widened his eyes and exclaimed, “You still have a childlike heart and like to have others call you elder brother; that’s your business. Why drag me into it?” He even deliberately stroked his short beard.
Upon hearing Man Bu She's words, Wan Shi Tong suddenly burst into laughter and exclaimed, “Now I understand what it means to rely on age to bully the young!”
Lingfeng quickly agreed with a nod.
Infuriated, Man Bu She slammed down on the golden chair, causing a piece of gold to fall off. Feeling pained by the loss, he bent down to pick up the piece of gold.
The All-Knowing One waved his finger toward the gold, and the gold piece rolled slightly away from Man Bu She's hand, flying toward the All-Knowing One.
"You..." Man Bu She realized this was a spell used by the All-Knowing One and looked at him anxiously.
"What heavy gold! I have never saved up such a large piece of gold in my entire life!" The gold piece was originally the handle of Man Bu She's golden chair, already the size of a human fist and made of pure gold, so it was naturally quite heavy.
Lingfeng had no interest in gold, but seeing Man Bu She's nervous expression, knowing he valued wealth greatly, he deliberately swallowed hard and pretended to be drooling over the gold.
Man Bu She stepped forward nervously, watching Lingfeng and the All-Knowing One closely. His clenched fists were already infused with Spiritual Energy, ready to seize the gold piece.
"You need not be so anxious. I have lived in seclusion for many years and have no desire for such wealth!" The All-Knowing One then glanced at Lingfeng and added, "However, my brother here is quite different!"
"What do you really want?" Man Bu She was unsure of why the All-Knowing One had come here but guessed that he had something important to discuss.
The All-Knowing One did not directly mention the matter of the Demon Relic but instead looked around before slowly saying, "You just witnessed my cultivation level, and my brother here is even more concealed. Together, our powers could easily flatten the Barbarian Sect!"
The All-Knowing One's words left Lingfeng puzzled and shocked Man Bu She.
Lingfeng did not understand why the All-Knowing One was boasting. Although the All-Knowing One's cultivation surpassed Man Bu She's, Lingfeng's own cultivation was not that formidable. If they wanted to flatten the Barbarian Sect together, it seemed like a fantasy.
Man Bu She appeared to believe it, looking nervously at Lingfeng and the All-Knowing One.
The All-Knowing One floated to the wall, knocked on the wall made of gold bricks, and sighed, "If we could flatten the Barbarian Sect, then I would have nothing to worry about in this lifetime!"
"You..." Man Bu She's tone became noticeably weaker as he hesitated and asked, "What do you really want?"
Lingfeng secretly laughed, thinking that Man Bu She truly valued talent above all else. What he feared was not that the All-Knowing would level the Barbarian Sect to the ground, but rather that these assets would be taken away by the All-Knowing.
The All-Knowing clapped his hands and casually handed a gold ingot to Lingfeng, saying, "I want to ask you about something concerning the survival of the Cultivation Realm!"
Man Bu She was taken aback but still asked, "I am just a cultivator; how could the survival of the Cultivation Realm have anything to do with me?"
"Heh heh," the All-Knowing sneered twice, glancing at Man Bu She, looking like an old rogue.
Man Bu She felt a chill run down his spine. He had intended to show the All-Knowing a bit of authority but found himself intimidated by both the All-Knowing and the child before him.
"You don't need to play dumb. You are over a hundred years old; surely you know that there is something special that tends to appear in the Barbarian Lands?" After saying this, the All-Knowing gently clasped his hands behind his back, and with a thunderous sound, the main hall's door slammed shut.
Man Bu She was startled again and instinctively took a few steps back, gripping the treasured sword on the golden chair in his hand, yet still said, "I don't understand what you mean, but if you dare to act recklessly here, I won't hold back!"
Before the All-Knowing went into seclusion, he and Man Bu She had always been adversaries. However, it was not the kind of opposition between Demon Cultivators and cultivators but rather a clash of personalities.
The All-Knowing was carefree and unrestrained, while Man Bu She was cautious and always harbored ulterior motives. The two had encountered each other by chance during their cultivation journeys and had remained in opposition due to financial reasons.
Of course, the All-Knowing would not actually use force against Man Bu She. Although they were adversaries, it had not escalated to open conflict. Man Bu She placed great importance on his possessions, and after many years without seeing each other, he naturally held suspicions toward the All-Knowing.
