Half of the land had been taken, yet there was no further movement.
Lingfeng could already guess what was coming next; it would be nothing but threats.
"Isn't the higher authority concerned about this matter?" Lingfeng asked in confusion.
The land spirit sighed softly and said, "A thousand years ago, the Divine Realm and the Demon Realm were already at odds. However, the Divine Realm does not wish to start a war, so as long as the Demon Realm does not go too far, the Divine Realm will turn a blind eye."

The land spirit continued, "Demon Spirit Mountain spans thousands of miles, and that Stone Mountain is located at one corner of it. Interestingly enough, Stone Mountain moves on its own. In winter and autumn, it is at one corner near the entrance of Demon Spirit Mountain. In summer and spring, it shifts to one corner at the tail end of Demon Spirit Mountain."
Hearing this, Lingfeng found it somewhat absurd and couldn't help but ask, "Is that Stone Mountain a living being? How can it move by itself?"
"The Great Sage may not know," replied the land spirit. "It is said that Stone Mountain was transformed from an Ancient Divine Beast and contains the Spiritual Energy needed for Demon Cultivation. However, what kind of spiritual beast it transformed from remains unknown."
Upon hearing the term Ancient Divine Beast, Lingfeng felt a surge of excitement. Ever since Monkey Head acquired Tao Tie, Lingfeng wished he could resurrect Fire Phoenix immediately; not only would his cultivation level rise further, but in terms of Cultivation Realm, no one would likely be able to compare.
Unfortunately, resurrecting Fire Phoenix required high-level Fire Control Spells, while Lingfeng's Fire Control Technique was merely superficial.
After learning about Demon Spirit Mountain, Lingfeng followed Ke Yu back to Spirit Sect. Thus, a month passed.
Although he knew that there was a strange Stone Mountain at Demon Spirit Mountain, Lingfeng still felt somewhat troubled. The Cultivation Realm experienced perpetual spring, making it impossible to distinguish between winter and autumn. Lingfeng stepped forward and looked at the flame in Kehua's hand with surprise. Although Lingfeng's fire control ability was certainly superior to Kehua's, he understood that Kehua's ability to learn the Fire Control Technique was likely due to having a manual related to it.
Kehua seemed to have just mastered the Fire Control Technique; although he was showing off, he also appeared a bit nervous.
Lingfeng approached him with an envious expression and childishly said, "Wow, Senior Brother, that's amazing! Can you teach me?"
If someone else had said this, Kehua might have tested that person's Fire Control Technique prowess. However, Lingfeng was different; not only was he likable, but he also brought joy to others.
Through their interactions over these past few days, Kehua already had a good impression of Lingfeng. Although Kehua usually spoke coldly, he did not carry himself with arrogance towards his junior disciples and was thus well-respected among them. If it were Ke Zhan who could perform the Fire Control Technique, Lingfeng likely would not have asked him this way but would have thought of ways to steal it instead.
Ke Zhan revealed a rare smile, straightened his back, and said, "I have been practicing the Fire Control Technique for a long time, and I have just mastered it. Although I can teach you, I don't know which element you can wield."
Lingfeng wished he could master spells of all five elements, but unfortunately, he could not. He knew that Ke Zhan had the manual for the Fire Control Technique, most likely given to him by the Assassin Hall Master.

"Just as I expected, these manuals are indeed kept by the Assassin Hall Master!" Thinking of this made Lingfeng even happier. The Assassin Hall Master was cultivating in her room but was not fully immersed.
Lingfeng quietly pushed open the door and saw the Assassin Hall Master sitting cross-legged and floating in mid-air, emanating a black glow. If it weren't for the spirit fire illuminating the room, Lingfeng might not have noticed her presence at all.
Perhaps hearing the door open, the Assassin Hall Master opened her eyes. She smiled at Lingfeng and then waved her arms; the spirit fires on both sides of the wall flickered and then extinguished, plunging the room into darkness.
Lingfeng was unsure of what the Assassin Hall Master was doing but felt no trace of her aura. Although there was air movement in the room, he sensed no change in wind currents.
"Assassin Hall Master, what are you doing?" Lingfeng called out softly with confusion.
But there was no response. Suddenly, with a thud sound behind him, the door closed completely. The room fell into total darkness as if the Assassin Hall Master had vanished without a trace.
Lingfeng cautiously stepped back until he reached the door and gently tugged at it; however, it did not budge at all as if it were nailed shut.
"Is she using me for an experiment?" Lingfeng chuckled; emotional women often enjoyed playing hide-and-seek with men.
Lingfeng took a few steps inside while vigilantly scanning his surroundings. At that moment, he felt like a blind person—unable to see anything or sense anything at all.
"A qualified assassin must not only learn superior stealth techniques but also possess keen insight," came the voice of the Assassin Hall Master from all directions like a ghost.
Lingfeng was intimidated by the abilities of the Assassin Hall Master, thinking to himself that dealing with Enchanting was already difficult enough. If there was another highly skilled Assassin Hall Master, how would his future days be bearable?
However, since the Assassin Hall Master was training him, he naturally had to cooperate well. He closed his eyes, stood still, and calmly felt the subtle changes in the space that were hard to perceive.
