Uncle Liu glanced at Gangzi beside him and sighed, "Actually, Gangzi is that child!"

Gangzi shook his head and replied, "She had no choice but to give me up; besides, it was for my own good."
Gangzi's understanding nature moved Lingfeng. He felt an inexplicable sadness within himself, thinking that his background was quite similar to Gangzi's; he just did not know why his parents abandoned him.
With this thought in mind, Lingfeng sighed and quietly walked outside, gazing at the vast sky.
"Child, are you thinking of your parents too?" Uncle Liu noticed Lingfeng's unusual demeanor and followed him outside, standing beside him and gently asking.
Lingfeng nodded with a smile and said sadly, "I have never had parents either. My background is very similar to Gangzi's; I just do not know the fate of my parents."
"Children are the heart and soul of their parents. Which parent would be willing to abandon their own flesh and blood? They must have some unavoidable difficulties that force them to do so!" Uncle Liu's words were filled with concern and affection, like a father.
Upon hearing Uncle Liu's words, Lingfeng could no longer hold back the pain in his heart, and tears finally streamed down his face.

After what happened with Ziren, Lingfeng decided to pay a visit to State Government.
State Government had extensive influence and numerous cultivators who maintained order in the Demon Subduing Continent through benevolence and righteousness.
Lingfeng walked for several dozen miles and finally arrived at the territory of State Government.
At a glance, the State Government resembled a vast nation, its bustling scene visible at first sight.
The city walls towered high, revealing defensive gun ports above. The main gate was wide, adorned with large bronze locks. On either side of the gate stood golden-armored guards, tightly gripping their swords, exuding an imposing presence.
Lingfeng looked like a country bumpkin, standing outside the tall city walls, dumbfounded. Passersby couldn't help but glance at this rustic figure, smiles appearing on their faces.
"Is this really the State Government? How magnificent!" Lingfeng couldn't help but murmur to himself.
He then walked towards the city gate, reaching out to touch the bronze locks above.
"Brother, where are you from?" One of the guards noticed Lingfeng and assumed he was a friend from elsewhere.
Lingfeng stared wide-eyed at the armor worn by the guard and couldn't resist reaching out to touch it.
The guard smiled kindly and leaned down to ask, "Brother, are you here to do business with the State Government?"
"Are you a guard of the State Government?" Seeing that the guard seemed friendly and radiated Spiritual Energy, Lingfeng instinctively felt that he might be a cultivator of the next phase of Rotation of Light.
The guard nodded and ruffled Lingfeng's hair, saying, "You don't seem to be from around here. What brings you to the State Government? If you have any difficulties, I can help you!"
"But... but I still don't know your name!" Lingfeng replied, feigning innocence as he realized the guard treated him like a child.
The guard chuckled; however, his expression was hidden behind his armor. He then said, "My surname is Tong. I am the Chief Guard of the State Government, Tong Yu. You can call me Brother Tong!"
"Brother Tong!" Lingfeng called sweetly, causing Tong Yu to involuntarily remove his helmet.
Tong Yu was of average appearance, but his eyes were bright and captivating, making anyone who looked at him feel refreshed, as if everything in the world was beautiful.
Lingfeng secretly marveled, wondering if this person was a deity descended to earth. Why did he give off such a pleasant feeling?
Seeing Lingfeng staring blankly at him, Tong Yu smiled again, his white teeth shining brightly, which made Lingfeng feel a bit dizzy.
"Brother, you still haven't answered my question!" Tong Yu said.
Lingfeng opened his mouth in a daze, seemingly enchanted, and murmured, "What beautiful eyes!"
Tong Yu was taken aback and quickly put his helmet back on, lowering the veil above it. He waved his hands beside Lingfeng's eyes, and a flash of spiritual light passed by, causing Lingfeng's body to tremble violently for a moment.
Lingfeng suddenly came to his senses but felt as if he had just been dreaming.
"Was I really dreaming just now?" Lingfeng could hardly believe his thoughts. He was clearly standing there and felt very clear-headed; how could he have experienced an illusion?
Tong Yu did not feel awkward about what had just happened and asked again, "Brother, you still haven't answered my question!"
Only then did Lingfeng remember the purpose of his visit. He blurted out, "Brother Tong, I want to see the Governor!"
"See the Governor?" Tong Yu was quite surprised. There probably wasn't anyone as bold as Lingfeng in the entire Demon Subduing Continent. The State Government was not made up of ordinary people; they were usually busy with countless affairs and hardly had time to deal with others.
Lingfeng nodded, his mischievous and charming eyes sparkling as he lightly pouted.
Tong Yu found himself in a bit of a dilemma. He couldn't bear to refuse Lingfeng, but getting an audience with the Governor was no easy task!
After thinking for a moment, Tong Yu asked, "Brother, do you have a reason to see the Governor?"
Lingfeng felt secretly pleased, thinking to himself that it was fortunate he had an exceptional appearance and was still young; otherwise, someone else might have been chased away by Tong Yu long ago.
"I have something important to show the Governor!" Lingfeng whispered childishly in Tong Yu's ear.
Tong Yu teased like a child, exaggerating his pout and mysteriously asking, "What is it that you want to show the Governor? Can you show it to your brother?"
"Brother?" Lingfeng felt a wave of disgust. His act of innocence was merely to achieve his own goals. However, he didn't expect Tong Yu not only to fail to see through him but also to boldly claim to be Lingfeng's brother.
Though somewhat repulsed, Lingfeng maintained his composure and introduced himself, saying, "Brother Tong, my name is Lingfeng!"
Tong Yu responded with interest, eagerly looking at Lingfeng.
Lingfeng thought for a moment; this guard likely mistook him for a runaway friend. However, his purpose for seeing the State Government was simply to report the matter of the Phoenix Pearl truthfully. Yet, the Phoenix Pearl was no ordinary issue; it absolutely could not be known by anyone outside the State Government.
After pondering this, Lingfeng's eyes lit up as he casually took out the Connecting Rod and said, "I want to show this to the Governor!"
Tong Yu took the Connecting Rod and weighed it in his hand. It felt light but contained a hint of Spiritual Energy; it was clearly a top-quality item. He looked back at Lingfeng, wondering how a thirteen or fourteen-year-old child could possess such an exquisite item.
Filled with confusion, Tong Yu finally asked, "This iron rod doesn't seem to be a Common Item. Where did you get it?"
"This is mine!" Lingfeng replied truthfully, then added, "But I want to show it to the Governor!"
Tong Yu couldn't help but chuckle as he returned the Connecting Rod to Lingfeng, saying, "The Governor has many treasures. Although this iron rod is a fine item, it's at best a medium-grade treasure. I doubt the Governor would summon you just for this Medium Quality iron rod!"
Lingfeng smiled confidently, and his expression suddenly shifted from one of youthful exuberance to a mature demeanor that suggested he had seen much of the world. "The Governor may have many treasures, but I am confident that none can compare to this!" With that, Lingfeng stood the Connecting Rod upright and silently recited a few Incantations. Suddenly, the Connecting Rod thickened and lengthened, quickly transforming into a massive iron pillar.
Everyone was astonished and couldn't help but gather around to point and discuss the Connecting Rod.
Tong Yu was equally surprised, staring at the thick iron pillar, momentarily lost in thought.
Lingfeng grinned proudly, nudged Tong Yu's shoulder, and asked, "Do you think the State Government will like this treasure?"
At this point, Tong Yu no longer viewed Lingfeng as just a child. He looked Lingfeng up and down again and felt the Spiritual Energy emanating from him, realizing that Lingfeng was a cultivator.
"Since you want to meet the Governor, please follow me!" Tong Yu quickly made way and led Lingfeng into the State Capital City.
Upon entering the State Capital City, Lingfeng was once again amazed. The pavilions and towers were resplendent with gold and jade. Each shop and inn was grandly built, showcasing a scene of prosperity.
