"Haha..." A cold laugh from Boss Black echoed in my ears. "Today, both of you will die here."
Lu Zhenhuan reluctantly let go of me and shielded me behind him, showing a disdainful smile at Boss Black. "Boss Black, do you know why you can never defeat me?"
"Because you're stupid."
"Everything today is because I forced you into a corner; otherwise, how could I completely eliminate you?"
"You think my whereabouts were revealed to you by chance?"
"You are too arrogant to believe that I would walk into your trap. In fact, I intentionally leaked my location to lure you here."
"You thought this place was so obvious, yet you didn't notice anything wrong. Boss Black, you're really quite foolish."
At that moment, the sound of police sirens blared outside.
Boss Black's expression changed dramatically.
But Lu Zhenhuan laughed, "My people are here."
"Then you'll all die here together!"
Boss Black tossed down a lighter, and in the next second, the abandoned factory exploded and began to collapse.
Lu Zhenhuan tightly protected me beneath him as a flaming wooden beam crashed down on him.
His clothes were soaked with blood, and he grimaced in pain.
Yet he still smiled at me, saying, "Don't be afraid, it's okay, just go."
"I won't leave!"
I wanted to go with him.
He could no longer hold back and shouted at me,
"Get the hell out of here!"
"Zhenhuan..." I cried out in anguish.
"Move!" he yelled at me.
I struggled to crawl outside, explosions ringing in my ears,
and before my eyes, the factory was collapsing...
Despair shattered my heart.
"Zhenhuan!"
I crawled out of the factory, rolling and scrambling toward the police car,
"Please, hurry and save him, save him..."
I directed the rescue workers, "Over there, over there, quickly, quickly..."
"Boom—"
A loud explosion echoed as the factory experienced a secondary blast.
The memories abruptly stopped.
I am a Wild Wolf.
That's what they all call me.
Because I once took down a wolf with my bare hands.
In truth, I wasn't born this fierce;
it was because I was abducted.
I was locked in a cave with many other children.
Every day, we ate moldy food and drank dirty water, enduring beatings and being whipped with sticks.
Many died and were dragged out to be fed to the wolves.
To survive, I had to fight the wolves for food.
I was only four years old then.
Later, I escaped.
But I didn't go home because I had no idea where home was.
I wandered around, living by begging.
I was very hungry, but I had no money.
A Lame Child handed me something,
saying it was Candy, but as soon as he took it out, it was snatched away by other kids.
He cried very sadly, and I asked him, "What is Candy?"
He said, "Candy is very sweet,
my sister bought it for me; she loves candy the most."
For the sake of the sister he mentioned, I helped him get the Candy back.
But I didn't know what it was and casually threw it into the trash can.
Later, I wandered to a place
where I saw many children eating that kind of thing; only then did I realize it was candy.
But I had already thrown it away.
I really wanted to taste what candy was like, but I didn't know where to find it.
That Lame Child was very sad and kept mumbling about his sister.
I found him annoying and left.
When I saw that child again later,
he was already on the verge of death.
He handed me a photo and a piece of candy wrapper,
asking me to help him find his sister and tell her that he had found a lot of candy,
and he saved it all for her, urging her to come find him.
I promised.
But everything is already too late.
