Enraged, Ma Zhigang raised the door bolt and swung it at Liu Cuiyun. She cried out for help, her screams echoing throughout the village. Her two foolish sons were frantic and running around in circles.
The cries of Ma Zhigang and Liu Cuiyun, the whispers of the neighbors watching, and the attempts of their two foolish sons to mediate created a chaotic scene. After half the night, Ma Zhigang was exhausted. He sat on the ground in the duck pen, panting heavily. Liu Cuiyun was beaten black and blue, lying motionless on the ground. In the end, it was Uncle Chen from the village who intervened, prompting Ma Zhigang to stop. After a long and earnest persuasion from Uncle Chen, Ma Zhigang reluctantly ceased his actions in anger.
Liu Cuiyun was pulled up from the ground by her two foolish sons and sat beside Ma Zhigang, sobbing softly. After much coaxing from Uncle Chen, Liu Cuiyun finally stopped crying and spoke with a pitiful tone: "Uncle Chen, please judge for me. Ma Zhigang impatiently shouted, "Enough! Stop crying!" Early the next morning, Liu Cuiyun, covered in bruises and limping, came to find me and Yangyang.
She glared at us fiercely and said, "Tell me, was that hole dug by you last night?"
Yangyang widened his eyes, looking innocent. "Mom, what are you talking about? We've been locked up the whole time; how could we know anything about a dog hole?"
I chimed in, "Exactly, Mom. I'm half-blind and can't even see the road clearly; how could I find a dog hole?"
Liu Cuiyun looked at us suspiciously, clearly not believing us. At that moment, Ma Shengli appeared at an inopportune time. He was holding Da Huang and happily showed it off to Liu Cuiyun. "Mom, look at the puppies Da Huang had!"
Liu Cuiyun was taken aback. "These are Da Huang's puppies?"
Ma Shengli nodded. "Yeah, Da Huang is amazing; the puppies are great."
Liu Cuiyun looked at the puppies in front of her and then at us, seemingly more confused. She snatched the puppy from Ma Shengli's arms and scolded him, "Go away and don't get in the way!"
Ma Shengli was stunned by the scolding and walked away with the puppy, looking dejected.
