I don't know how long it has been, but Wu Cheng finally woke up from the nightmare. He sat up suddenly, sweat soaking his forehead. He found himself in a dark room, surrounded by pitch-black darkness, with only faint moonlight seeping in through the window, casting vague silhouettes. It was already late, and the darkness outside was even thicker. 0

He realized that his hands and feet were tied to a chair with coarse ropes. He tried to struggle, but the ropes tightly bound his limbs. He couldn't help but notice strange symbols and some peculiar liquid all over his body. The area around the chair was covered in an unknown powder, seemingly forming some kind of eerie magic circle. 0

Grandmother did not appear in the surroundings, and there seemed to be no sound outside the room. Wu Cheng began to struggle with all his might, trying to loosen the rope slightly. However, his efforts were in vain, as the rope maintained its tightness. Wu Cheng felt anxious, knowing he had to find a way to escape from this predicament. 0

After a moment of inner struggle, he made a shocking decision. He firmly pressed his left hand against the thumb of his right hand, determined to break it to reduce the size of his palm, making it easier for the rope to pass through. However, this idea sparked strong inner resistance. He took a deep breath, focused his mind, and ultimately resolutely broke his thumb. Intense pain instantly struck him, and he bit his lip tightly, not making a sound. 0

He successfully freed his hands from the rope, and then easily untied his feet. When he stood up, he realized that his lips were covered in his own blood. Wu Cheng began to look for his bag, but it was not within his sight. He quickly turned around, trying to find a way out, but the door to the room was locked. 0

Wu Cheng's heart raced as he began to search for another exit in the room. Just when he was about to feel hopeless, he noticed a hollow sound as he walked over the carpet. He immediately focused on the carpet, gently lifted it, and indeed revealed a hidden door leading to the basement. 0

He entered the secret door without hesitation and found himself in a dim corridor. He cautiously moved forward, feeling his way around the surroundings. 0
Wu Cheng continued down the corridor of the basement, the scene before him becoming increasingly eerie and unsettling. He discovered that the basement was filled with various strange statues, each with a unique shape and atmosphere, as if silently telling a terrifying story. The statues emitted a strange aura, sending shivers down his spine. 0

In the center of the basement, there is a statue of an old man wearing a black robe, placed on an ancient table. The statue's face is carved with a cold and profound expression, causing extreme unease. Surrounding the table is the same magic circle as before, burning with a faint blue flame, emitting an evil atmosphere. 0

On the table, there is also an old notebook that exudes evil even before being opened. Wu Cheng tries to suppress his inner unease as he reaches for the old notebook. Despite his fear, he knows that this may be the key to unraveling all the mysteries. He slowly opens the notebook, and the old paper makes a soft sound. 0

The content in the notebook is unbelievable, recording a mysterious ritual that seems to have some connection with the divine. The description of this ritual is filled with bloody depictions, involving sacrifice and offering. Wu Cheng feels a chill, he widens his eyes, trying to understand these eerie words. 0

As his gaze continues to move down, the content of the notebook becomes even more bizarre. He sees that the sacrificer will guide a "man covered in blood" to come, this "man" will become a representative of some kind of god, bringing "joy and pleasure" to the god. These words are full of absurdity and incredibility, but they are deeply unsettling. 0

Wu Cheng couldn't contain his anger and without hesitation, he tore apart the notebook and threw the pieces aside. The contents were too eerie, reminding him of Li Xiaoting, his past, and the unspeakable events related to it. 0

Wu Cheng's rage burned within him as he decided to destroy these chilling items. He decisively tore apart the notebook and tossed the pieces aside. Since arriving in this small town, his mind had been tormented, and he could no longer bear the foolish superstitions and prophecies. 0

He didn't want to stay in this terrible place any longer, so Wu Cheng continued deeper into the basement. He passed through layers of strange symbols and marks, gradually approaching the deepest part of the basement. There, he found a pickaxe with a sharp tip covered in red copper rust. The entire pickaxe was tightly wrapped in numerous symbols, emitting a gloomy atmosphere. 0

His gaze then fell on a thin cement wall, and Wu Cheng instantly understood his next move. He raised the pickaxe and forcefully smashed it against the cement wall. With a loud noise, the cement began to crack and was eventually successfully broken by Wu Cheng. 0

Through the crack in the cement wall, Wu Cheng saw a hidden passage. Without hesitation, he walked into the passage and climbed up the stairs. When he emerged from the passage, he found himself hitting his head on the ancestral table of Siheyuan where he had first come in. He crawled out from under the table, and the moonlight was blocked by dark clouds, making the night even more eerie and mysterious. 0
