The surroundings were dim, and Ye Yang felt as if his bones were about to shatter under the pressure of Azure Dragon's claws. The Bloodline surged within him, and a powerful Fire God Fragment True Qi emerged, resisting the invasion of Azure Dragon's True Qi. The Azure Dragon let out a deep and intimidating roar as its enormous body—about several hundred meters long—gracefully descended and landed steadily on the altar at the center of the palace. In a fleeting glance, Ye Yang noticed that a plaque above the grand hall bore three large characters: Dragon Soaring and Phoenix Dancing—Hidden Dragon Hall!
"Hidden Dragon Hall? What... what is this place?" Ye Yang thought in astonishment but felt less worried. If the Azure Dragon intended to kill him, it could have done so long ago; why bring him to its lair? Perhaps it was for some sort of ritual? He doubted that; spirit beasts shouldn't be so cruel.
On the altar stood an elderly man holding a staff, dressed in a black robe with white hair. He looked up at the descending Azure Dragon and Ye Yang with an imposing gaze and suddenly spoke loudly: "Guardian Beast, why have you brought a human here?"
So it turned out that this Azure Dragon was indeed the Guardian Beast of Hidden Dragon Hall?
Ye Yang gritted his teeth, feeling a bit anxious inside, but he maintained his composure. No matter what, he had to survive. In the Dragon Abyss, his friend Zhang Tianhe was still waiting for him. Far away in Liang City, his father Ye Nantian, uncle Ye Beichi, and sister Zeng Xuan were all waiting for him to return. The Azure Dragon raised its head and laughed heartily, "Old fellow, stop pretending! Aren't you all looking for a new inheritor for the Hidden Dragon Hall? The Azure Dragon's front paw struck, and Ye Yang tumbled onto the altar, his bones feeling as if they were about to shatter. The pain was unbearable, yet he gritted his teeth and did not utter a single word of agony.
After releasing Ye Yang, the guardian beast soared into the air, quickly disappearing into the clouds above the ground, while the Fire Dragon remained, silently guarding the Hidden Dragon Hall.
Ye Yang leaned against the Jade Railing and slowly stood up, his gaze calm as he looked at the elder before him, remaining silent.
Elder Qingxuan appeared to be in good spirits, lightly stroking his beard as he said, "Young man, first I have a question for you. In this chaotic world where people are suffering, if you were to gain great power, what would you do?"
Ye Yang's heart sank, and his eyes brightened as he declared, "I would conquer the lands with martial might and unify the world!"
"And then?" A glimmer of light flashed in Elder Qingxuan's eyes. "After unifying the world, what will you do? Will you rule with tyranny like the Qin Emperor or something else?"
