Bearded Man If Ziru were to use a hidden weapon, he might still succeed, but it’s his shout of “Alpaca” that’s the problem; such animals are not something one can just call out casually. Zhang Yang reacted instantly, like an arrow released from a bow, rushing forward with his knife slicing down, severing the double-barreled shotgun in two. A piece of Bearded Man's finger fell to the ground.
So fast. Bearded Man seemed not to have felt the pain yet; he pulled the trigger only to find it empty. Looking down, he saw blood gushing from the severed tip of his index finger.
More and more people gathered around Zhang Yang, shouting loudly. Lying on the hood of the Highlander, Tie Chenggang felt as if his body was falling apart. He touched his ribs and sensed that at least one was broken. Struggling to sit up, he shouted with all his strength to those nearby, “Call the police!”
Damn, he still thought about calling the police.
At that moment, Azheng shouted, “Everyone stop!” and saw that a knife was pressed against the neck of Xu Runhu, who had a bruised face, while Han Shenghui and Azheng held him down.
Upon seeing this, Zhang Yang waved his knife rapidly, creating a flurry of light that repelled the attackers. Then he leaped into the air, breaking out of the Surround and rushing to Han Shenghui and Azheng’s side.
Half of the people were already lying on the ground, screaming in agony. The remaining dozens quickly surrounded the three. Azheng tightened his grip on the knife, drawing blood from Xu Runhu’s neck, causing it to seep out painfully cold.
“Don’t get too close!” Xu Runhu shouted. Hearing their leader's warning, those around them dared not approach any closer, forming a circle about three or four meters away. A few people stepped forward to help Tie Chenggang down from the vehicle. “Called the police? That’s good,” said Tie Chenggang, feeling slightly relieved. His eyes darted around as he struggled to pull out his phone and made a call in a low voice:
“Liang Dao? I hope I’m not disturbing your rest; are you still filming? Oh, I see…”
Amidst the chaos of battle, no one noticed a shadow darting out from the darkness. Wearing gloves, it picked up a steel pipe and a knife from the ground before slipping back into the convoy transporting pipes. With a few loud bangs, one of the Truck’s windows was shattered, and with another few slashes, the canvas covering the truck bed was torn open. Then this person climbed into the truck bed with both the steel pipe and knife in hand.
Surprisingly, neither the driver nor the passenger in the truck paid any attention; they watched this person’s actions while casually lighting cigarettes. Upon closer inspection, this truck seemed different from those transporting pipes. The large canvas covering had been ripped open to reveal fixed seats inside with two rows of people seated.
While members of Tiger Gang faced off against Zhang Yang and his group, all of this had already transpired.
“What are you two doing? Such impressive skills!” gasped Xu Runhu, who was being restrained, addressing Han Shenghui and Azheng.
“You’re not bad yourself; you could be considered a master among thugs,” replied Azheng with a sneer.
“Isn’t it all about making money in this line of work? How much does Seeking Logistics pay you? I’ll offer double; in Shanzhou, join my Tiger Gang, and you’ll have a good life,” said Xu Runhu, realizing he couldn’t overpower them and resorting to flattery instead.
"Shut up, who said we are Seeking Logistics people!" Han Shenghui said with a casual glance.
"Even if you kill me today, you won't get out. Look at how many brothers I have under me, and more will come to support us," Xu Runhu continued.
At this moment, Tie Chenggang, supported by someone, walked to the front of the Surround circle and said, "I have already called the police. You three are guilty of assault; you won't be able to escape this time!"
"Ridiculous! You are blocking the road and threatening us, yet you claim we are the ones committing assault. This matter is not that simple; I think it's you from Kangbao Logistics who won't be able to escape!" Zhang Yang sneered from the side.
"Blocking the road? Did we take action? We are just standing on the road; so many people are here to film a TV drama. These are all crowd actors, and the director and crew will be here soon! We have no idea about any logistics convoy; perhaps we just happened to run into it. But you three rushed over and started attacking; wait until the police arrive, and you'll see what happens!" Tie Chenggang's voice was loud, clearly meant for Xu Runhu to hear how he would explain when the police arrived.
"I've already informed both the crew and the criminal police team; Seeking Logistics still wants to play with violence. They really should think things through!" Tie Chenggang thought to himself.
Han Shenghui and Azheng both gasped in shock. The people from Kangbao Logistics and Tiger Gang were indeed just standing in the middle of the road without taking action; it was they who rushed over and started fighting. They didn't expect Tie Chenggang's adaptability to be so strong that he could pull off such a move.
Thinking of this, both of them looked at Zhang Yang together. Zhang Yang smiled slightly, signaling them not to panic, then said to Tie Chenggang, "Alright, we were forced into this; once the police arrive, we'll let this one go."
The two sides faced off like this. After about 20 minutes, the sound of police sirens filled the air, followed by three off-road police cars and five patrol cars speeding in.
"What’s going on?" A burly man in plain clothes stepped out of an off-road police car.
"Huang Team, you're here! We from Kangbao Logistics are collaborating with a film company to shoot a TV drama but were attacked by unidentified individuals who injured several of our crowd actors," Tie Chenggang limped forward.
"Uh? Let him go first!" The man referred to as Huang Team was Deputy Captain Huang Lingshan from the Shanhai Criminal Police Team's third squad. Seeing Xu Runhu still being held up, he couldn't help but bark an authoritative command.
"Let them disperse first!" Zhang Yang said.
"Disperse, disperse!" Several officers stepped forward to clear away the crowd surrounding Zhang Yang and his group. Han Shenghui and Azheng pushed Xu Runhu out forcefully.
"Which ones are your people? Line up properly. Aren't you filming a TV drama? Where's the crew?" Huang Lingshan asked.
"Huang Team, we arrived early. With so many people, it's hard to arrange things. The crew will be here shortly," Tie Chenggang said, handing over a cigarette.
"Where are the ones who injured you?" Huang Lingshan asked, feigning nonchalance.
"Just these three!" Xu Runhu replied from the side.
"Just them?" Huang Lingshan's face showed disbelief as she looked at the dozens of injured 'extras.' She instinctively placed her hand on her holster and said to the officers nearby, "Stay alert!"
Several officers drew their guns, aiming at the three individuals. Then, three more officers pulled out handcuffs, preparing to move in.
"Why aren't you cuffing them? Just because they say they're extras doesn't mean they are! They are robbers! At the very least, both sides should be cuffed!" Zhang Yang said, tapping his forehead. "Oh right, there are too many of them, and you don't have enough handcuffs. Is that the reason?"
"What a sharp tongue!" Huang Lingshan glared at Zhang Yang. "Kid, do we need your guidance in our investigation? Just put on the handcuffs. For thugs like you, we can shoot on sight!"
With that, Huang Lingshan drew her gun from its holster!
The atmosphere became tense. Han Shenghui and Azheng felt immense pressure and wondered why Zhang Yang was so worked up today and how this situation would end.
