Ren Xiaotian is very skilled in management. He separates the Black Dragon Society from his legitimate business, maintaining independent financial accounting for both. Even if the Black Dragon Mining Group requires the Black Dragon Society to handle certain matters, they must pay appropriate compensation. This management approach has two advantages: first, independent financial accounting encourages the Black Dragon Society to be self-sufficient and prevents it from relying on the profits of his legitimate business; second, if one day the Black Dragon Society were to collapse, it would not implicate the Black Dragon Mining Group. The organizational structure of the Black Dragon Society is entirely based on modern corporate management models. The highest authority is the leader, equivalent to a chairman in a company, a position held by Ren Xiaotian himself. Below him is the Vice Leader, akin to a CEO, filled by Ren Xiaotian's adopted son Yan Zheng. Under the Vice Leader are four Hall Masters: Lu Tiezhu of Flying Dragon Hall, Xue Fei of Kanglong Hall, Cao Ding of War Dragon Hall, and Zhuge Kong of Hidden Dragon Hall. These Hall Masters are comparable to department managers in a corporation. Below each Hall Master are Incense Masters, and under them are Altar Masters, similar to workshop directors and team leaders in a company.
Moreover, the entire Black Dragon Society has hired a professional advertising company to implement a complete Corporate Identity System (CIS). Generally, members wear red T-shirts with a black dragon printed on them; Altar Masters wear red Tang suits with black dragons embroidered on their chests; Incense Masters wear red Tang suits with black dragons embroidered; Hall Masters wear blue Tang suits with black dragons embroidered; Vice Leaders wear white Tang suits with black dragons embroidered; while the leader wears a white Tang suit with a golden dragon embroidered, symbolizing his supreme status.
Not only clothing but even the weapons used by members are standardized by the organization—uniformly made stainless steel blades measuring two feet long and two inches wide. All members have files established at headquarters detailing their age, height, weight, blood type, zodiac sign, marital status, political affiliation, work history, interests, and more. Members' salaries are based on a system of base pay plus performance evaluations. The society's regulations include various assessment standards for members across different aspects, with performance-based salaries distributed monthly according to evaluation results.
Positions also operate on a meritocracy system where performance evaluations determine promotions or demotions. Members can compete for Altar Master positions; Altar Masters can compete for Incense Master positions, and so forth... except for the leader and Vice Leader who cannot be contested against; all other positions can be attained through competition.
To be honest, hearing about how the Black Dragon Society manages itself with such a system impresses Xin Yi. It seems they truly keep pace with the times; Ren Xiaotian is indeed a genius. Why hasn’t Harvard Business School invited him to teach? If he could promote this method of managing gangs further, it could certainly lead to many immortal gangs.
However, despite its rigorous management, the Black Dragon Society has weaknesses. This weakness can also be seen as an advantage in some respects: they possess strong team spirit closely tied to their gang culture. The culture of the Black Dragon Society is purely corporate management-oriented, which means their education emphasizes teamwork. While having team spirit is beneficial, fostering it simultaneously stifles individual heroism among members.
As a gang, while team spirit is important, individual heroism cannot be overlooked either. The people of Heavenly Pride Nation have historically been educated with many examples that celebrate individual heroism. It is no exaggeration to say that in a gang, individual heroism is its soul and pillar; without it, regardless of how scientifically managed or visionary its leaders may be, it is destined for destruction.
Without reverence for individual heroism, an entire gang becomes like wolves that have lost their ferocity; they are no longer wolves but dogs.
Longhua has been around in the Black Dragon Society for quite some time and thus provides an insightful analysis of its situation. Through his explanation, Xin Yi gains an understanding of the overall structure of the Black Dragon Society. Given such a well-established management system, it seems regrettable to break it apart through brute force. Therefore, Xin Yi asks Longhua what his plans are. Longhua has been given a high title by Xin Yi and naturally spares no effort in strategizing for him.
After some thought, Longhua says: "I believe I can persuade some members and even those at the level of Altar Master or Incense Master to defect. At that point, we can work together from within and outside to take down the Black Dragon Society's stronghold and cause its complete collapse!"
Xin Yi had considered this method before. Even without external assistance, he was confident he could wipe out the Black Dragon Society in one fell swoop. However, doing so would have significant repercussions and inevitably attract the authorities' attention. Additionally, it would disrupt the organizational structure of the Black Dragon Society, which had been established for many years, requiring him to rebuild everything from scratch. She was good at everything except that her practical experience was lacking; this opportunity could provide her with at least ten years' worth of detective experience. However, it would be best to inform Lu Jianming about this since it was undoubtedly a dangerous undertaking.
Thus, Xin Yi said over the phone to Lu Hanmeng, "How about we meet in person to discuss our next actions? It's not something that can be explained in just a few words."
Lu Hanmeng immediately perked up and replied, "Great! Let's do it now! Where are you? I'll come find you right away! I told you that you couldn't act on your own without me! Hahaha..."
Half an hour later, Xin Yi was sitting in a tea house savoring his cup of Biluochun tea. It had been a long time since he enjoyed such quiet moments alone with tea; he had almost forgotten what that felt like. Drinking tea requires a certain mindset; if one is calm and carefree, even Da Hong Pao can taste as delicate as Biluochun. Conversely, if one is troubled and restless, even a pot of jasmine tea might taste bitter and stale. Thus, drinking tea is more about savoring one's mood and state of mind.
Of course, all of this was before Lu Hanmeng arrived. Just as Xin Yi took his second sip, an ear-piercing screech of brakes echoed from the street outside, followed by the acrid smell of burnt rubber mixing with the fragrant Biluochun in his cup. Perhaps the combination of these two scents created a chemical reaction that caused Xin Yi to sneeze twice without any grace.
"Xin Yi! Xin Yi! Where are you?" came Lu Hanmeng's loud voice from downstairs. Oh my goodness! Didn't I clearly tell you on the phone that I'm in Room 206? What does it mean to shout so loudly? Are you trying to announce your arrival to everyone? Well then, welcome!
Immediately after, hurried footsteps rushed up the stairs. This was supposed to be an elegant antique wooden staircase; couldn't she refrain from stomping up like a transformer? It felt like an earthquake shaking the entire upper floor. What about Boss? Could Boss really allow such barbaric behavior?
"Xin Yi! Where are you?" Before the sentence was even finished, the door to room 206 was kicked open by Lu Hanmeng, who rushed in panting and complained, "Why didn’t you answer me after I called you so many times?
