The meal was served quickly, and the Fat Boss was bouncing around, completely unlike his bulky figure. It was hard to tell if Xin Yi had not eaten such delicious food for a long time or if the Fat Boss was just an excellent cook. In any case, the three of them enjoyed the meal heartily, devouring their food as if a storm had swept through. Even Lijie and Roxy were sweating from the deliciousness of the meal, calling it a real treat. A couple at the next table was drawn in by their boisterous eating and cast envious glances at these three unpretentious young people. When Lijie accidentally caught their gaze, she smiled shyly at them, but to her surprise, the elegant lady stood up, raised her glass, and walked over. 0

The elegant lady stopped by Xin Yi's table and said, "Three young friends, meeting is fate. If you don't mind, I would like to befriend you." Her voice was as graceful as her demeanor, making one feel as if they were basking in spring sunshine, naturally evoking a sense of warmth that few could refuse. 0

The three quickly put down their chopsticks and stood up. Xin Yi smiled and said, "Haha, it is our honor to become friends with such an elegant lady. I am Xin Yi, this is Lijie, and this is Roxy. May I ask how to address you?" 0

At first, the elegant lady did not pay much attention to Xin Yi because his stubbly beard gave off an impression of a rough man who eats heartily and drinks deeply. What attracted her were the stunning appearances of Lijie and Roxy. Although they were dressed simply and somewhat modestly, their beauty was undeniable. She thought about approaching them to see if she could possibly find a daughter-in-law among them. Now that Xin Yi spoke up, she noticed him for the first time. Upon closer inspection, she realized that despite his unkempt beard and messy hair, his clothes being as simple as those of the two beauties, his tone revealed a confidence that suggested he had either experienced life's hardships or received a good education. His eyes sparkled with assurance and determination, as if he could handle any situation effortlessly. She secretly marveled at how such hidden talent could exist in this rural area; no wonder he was accompanied by two outstanding beauties. Though he appeared rough around the edges, the masculine aura he exuded far surpassed that of today's delicate young men, making it understandable that he could attract exceptional women. 0

The elegant lady observed Xin Yi quietly before smiling and replying, "So it's Mr. Xin and Miss Lijie and Miss Roxy. My husband’s surname is Liu, and I’m Li." Turning to her middle-aged husband, she called out, "Dingbang, come over and meet our three young friends." 0

The man named Liu Dingbang stood up and walked over confidently, extending his hand warmly. "Hello! I’m Liu Dingbang; it’s a pleasure to meet you three! My wife loves making new friends; I hope we’re not intruding." 0

Xin Yi shook his hand and felt Liu Dingbang's grip—broad and strong—with noticeable calluses on his fingers indicating he was likely someone who handled firearms regularly. This further confirmed Xin Yi's suspicion that he was a military man. Xin Yi smiled and said, "You’re too kind, Mr. Liu. It’s our fortune to meet such a distinguished couple; how could it be an intrusion? If you don’t mind, please join us for tea and conversation." 0

"Sure! That’s exactly what I had in mind; I just didn’t want to disturb you," Liu Dingbang's wife interjected before he could finish speaking. "Since that's settled, let’s not be polite; chatting with young people can help keep us feeling youthful," she said with a smile as she took a seat. 0

Liu Dingbang glanced at his wife with a look of helplessness mixed with affection before sitting down beside her. "Jieyu, will this take up too much of their time? They might not be staying here like us; it’s fine if they have other plans." 0

"It’s no trouble at all, Mr. Liu," Xin Yi replied. "We’ve decided to stay here tonight as well; it seems we are indeed fated to meet," he chuckled. 0

"Please don’t call me Mrs. Liu; it sounds awkward," the elegant lady chimed in. "My surname is Li; my name is Jieyu. You can call me Sister Li or even Auntie Li if you prefer—it feels more friendly since we seem to get along well." 0

In later conversations, Xin Yi learned that Liu Dingbang and his wife were here for leisure travel; they didn’t want to join the crowds at famous tourist spots but sought a quiet place where no one knew them to relax for a few days. Travel is merely a state of mind; as long as one has beautiful scenery in their heart—even just grass or trees—it can be beautiful too. Conversely, if one’s mind is cluttered with vices like wine or gambling, even paradise would feel tainted. The Liu couple clearly understood the essence of life; they chose to spend several peaceful days in this remote town while leisurely exploring the surrounding fields and local culture—this itself was a form of serene escapism for their souls. 0

A few people were chatting happily, and Li Jieyu showed a strong interest in Lijie and Roxy during the conversation, continuously asking the two beauties about their family situations and whether they had boyfriends. The two beauties seemed to be intentionally trying to provoke Xin Yi, shyly claiming that they were still single. This made Li Jieyu so happy that she immediately wanted to adopt both beauties as her goddaughters, repeatedly mentioning that she had a son at home who was about their age and currently working in the military. He was already a major at such a young age, and it was clear that she intended to choose one of the two beauties as her daughter-in-law. 0

The two beauties truly displayed potential worthy of an Oscar-winning performance, fully immersing themselves in their roles. Their sweet talk was so sugary it could almost ooze honey, as they kept calling her "Auntie." When Li Jieyu took out a photo of her son to show them, the two beauties exclaimed how handsome he was, their eyes sparkling with admiration. This infuriated Xin Yi, who thought to herself that they were being too infatuated. Although the Brother Soldier in the photo did look better than her own scruffy appearance, there was no need for such a display of infatuation. The rich cultural heritage of Heavenly Pride Nation should have taught them to be more reserved; they were practically embarrassing all the women of Heavenly Pride Nation. However, Xin Yi couldn't openly protest against the two beauties' behavior since she had already offended them earlier by accidentally dropping saliva on Roxy's chest while peeking at them in the shower and even removing Lijie's underwear. It seemed they were holding a grudge and were deliberately acting infatuated to annoy Xin Yi. The best course of action for her now was to avoid offending them further; otherwise, if they really decided to marry Li Jieyu's handsome son out of spite, it would be a huge loss for her. So Xin Yi could only sit silently with a sullen face. 0

Just as the three women were chatting animatedly, a man came up the stairs. He appeared to be in his thirties, with a plump build and wearing greasy clothes. He carried a tray with a teapot on it. Upon reaching the top of the stairs, he chuckled and said, "Ladies, your tea must be cold by now. The Boss asked me to bring you some hot tea." As he spoke, he walked toward Xin Yi's table. 0

As he approached the table, suddenly his shoulder moved, and both the tray and teapot flew toward the table while a handgun appeared in his hand. He had been holding the gun all along but had concealed it under the tray; now that he discarded the tray, the gun was revealed. At that moment, the three women were engrossed in their lively conversation and clearly did not notice this sudden turn of events. Liu Dingbang was looking at his wife with affection when he finally sensed something was wrong; by then, the teapot had already crashed onto the table. 0

Lijie and Roxy were both highly trained individuals with quick reflexes. Although they hadn't noticed anything unusual about the man at the stairs, as soon as the teapot touched the table, they instinctively stepped back two paces while pulling Li Jieyu along with them. 0

The man's target seemed to be Liu Dingbang; after discarding the teapot, he aimed directly at Liu Dingbang's chest without hesitation and pulled the trigger three times in quick succession. Each shot hit Liu Dingbang squarely in the chest. With a muffled groan, Liu Dingbang fell backward off his bench onto the wooden floor with a thud. 0

"Dingbang! What happened?!" Seeing her husband shot after being pulled aside by Lijie and Roxy, Li Jieyu cried out and lunged toward Liu Dingbang on the floor. The gunman intended to shoot Liu Dingbang again but saw Li Jieyu rushing over without hesitation; he lowered his gun and prepared to shoot her instead. Just then, Xin Yi swung her right hand, launching a chopstick like an arrow toward the gunman's right hand. The gunman was exceptionally skilled; sensing Xin Yi's movement, he anticipated her attack and performed an agile flip into the air just as the chopstick whizzed past him and embedded itself firmly into the wall nearby. 0

Seeing that Xin Yi's chopstick had such power surprised him slightly as he turned to glance at her. However, he clearly did not regard Xin Yi as a target; although he found her kung fu impressive, he merely glanced at her before returning his focus to Liu Dingbang on the floor. From his gaze, Xin Yi realized that he belonged to her category—he was a professional assassin! There was no trace of normal human thoughts or emotions in his eyes; he only aimed to kill his target. Of course, if Xin Yi attempted to stop him from killing Liu Dingbang again, he would not hesitate to shoot her either. After giving Xin Yi one last look, the assassin raised his gun again toward Liu Dingbang and Li Jieyu… 0
