Three days later, Cao Borin and Jiang Lian were escorted by a squad of soldiers from the Guogan Military to the border, crossing into the Heavenly Pride Nation through the Taiwan border. At the border of the Heavenly Pride Nation, Xin Yi had already informed an elderly man named Yanming Store to come and assist them, providing them with legal Heavenly Pride Nation identities arranged by Brother Three. After that, they were free to go wherever they wished; they could stay within the Heavenly Pride Nation or go through procedures to immigrate to other countries. When they were leaving, Xin Yi personally came to see them off. Before boarding the military helicopter, Xin Yi handed Cao Borin a card and said, "No matter where you go in the future, remember that you are both descendants of Heavenly Pride. This money is my wedding gift to you two; I wish you happiness!" 0

Cao Borin and Jiang Lian were both very touched. At the moment the military helicopter took off, Cao Borin suddenly shouted out of the window at Xin Yi, "I will be waiting for you in Heavenly Pride!" Unfortunately, Xin Yi naturally did not hear him. 0

From Cao Borin's account, Xin Yi finally pieced together a complete picture of the intense spy war between the two parties over twenty years ago. The Mingguo Party's intelligence organization, Mei Organization, was quite active during its rule over the Heavenly Pride Nation. It was similar to the Eastern Depot during feudal times, possessing supreme authority second only to the president. The leader of Mei Organization at that time was a militaristic figure named Jiao Xinmou, who advocated for military force and expansionism and was a staunch supporter of Jiang Zhongzheng, the leader of the Mingguo Party. During that period, the situation within the Heavenly Pride Nation was tumultuous, with warlords holding power in various regions. An island nation to the east of Heavenly Pride sought to take advantage of this chaos and carve out a piece of land for itself. Faced with both internal strife and external threats, opinions within the ruling Mingguo Party were divided into two factions. One faction consisted of nationalistic generals from the Mingguo Party's military who proposed that they must first expel foreign invaders and reclaim their territory by driving back those little invaders from the island nation so that they would be confined to their small island forever while internal matters could be resolved later. The other faction, led by Jiao Xinmou and characterized by its pro-foreign stance or political scheming, argued that before dealing with external threats, internal stability must be achieved first. They believed that it was necessary to eliminate local warlords and factions before considering how to deal with the island nation. 0

The two factions argued fiercely. Jiang Zhongzheng found himself in a difficult position; he needed to rely on those military generals for military matters but also depended on Jiao Xinmou and his scheming followers for political support. Ultimately, he chose silence and allowed both factions to fight it out while he would act according to circumstances later. Many people at that time looked down upon Jiang Zhongzheng for his inaction in this matter, believing he should demonstrate the decisiveness expected of a ruling party leader. However, those who thought this way did not understand Jiang Zhongzheng. Essentially, he was merely a politician or perhaps a schemer; throughout history, successful lords or emperors had to be both politicians and military leaders—military might established their rule while political acumen maintained it—like two legs of a person; one cannot function without the other. In reality, Jiang Zhongzheng was just a politician or at best a half-hearted military strategist. During his reign over the Heavenly Pride Nation, although he commanded an army of millions, these troops lacked cohesion due to his penchant for political maneuvering and scheming; they fought like scattered sand. 0

What caused this? Jiang Zhongzheng was suspicious by nature and did not trust anyone—especially those generals wielding significant power whom he viewed as primary targets for suspicion and surveillance. He not only had Mei Organization send agents to monitor these generals but also engaged in tactics reminiscent of ancient feudal emperors by deliberately sowing discord among them so they would distrust one another and remain vigilant against each other, thereby preventing any threat to his regime. 0

While this approach indeed kept his regime unchallenged, it resulted in significant consequences: the entire Mingguo Party military split into several factions based on shared interests among certain generals who formed alliances against others. This led to mutual disdain and even large-scale conflicts between factions. Consequently, aside from Jiang Zhongzheng's own loyal troops, there were times when even he could not command his forces effectively. Jiang Zhongzheng spent his life playing politics and scheming but did not realize that his balancing act ultimately backfired. 0

Others may not have understood Jiang Zhongzheng's motives, but his close confidant Jiao Xinmou did. He knew that Jiang Zhongzheng had little interest in expelling the island nation's invaders; what he truly desired was power—the unified regime of Heavenly Pride Nation. As long as he could command obedience within his domain, he would be satisfied even with just one-third of Heavenly Pride Nation's territory; let others occupy or invade as they pleased as long as they left him some space to fulfill his imperial ambitions. Thus, Jiang Zhongzheng's true intention was civil war against warlords and opposition parties for minor unification! However, he felt embarrassed to express this grand ambition publicly. 0

At that time, Mingguo Party's greatest political rival was the newly risen Proletarian Party which later established democratic governance over Heavenly Pride Nation. The so-called internal stability meant completely eliminating this emerging party. Understanding Jiang Zhongzheng's thoughts well, Jiao Xinmou orchestrated a series of terrorist attacks and assassination operations through Mei Organization targeting not only high-ranking members of Proletarian Party but also nationalistic generals within Mingguo Party who opposed "internal stability before external defense." After several terrorist attacks and assassinations took place, Mingguo Party regained effective command over most of its military forces and passed policies that compromised national dignity under "internal stability before external defense," subsequently launching five large-scale encirclements against Proletarian Party’s forces. However, what Jiang Zhongzheng did not anticipate was that this emerging party possessed extraordinary resilience; rather than being eradicated by these five encirclements, it gained popular support among citizens of Heavenly Pride Nation. 0

Ultimately pressured by various political parties and public opinion across the nation, Jiang Zhongzheng had no choice but to cooperate with Proletarian Party against the island nation's invaders. Through joint efforts from citizens across Heavenly Pride Nation as well as peace-loving people worldwide after eight years of arduous resistance against invasion, they finally expelled those island invaders from Heavenly Pride Nation's territory. However, by then Mingguo Party had suffered losses not only setting back Heavenly Pride Nation’s economy by at least thirty years but also fatally losing public support; thus being ousted from Heavenly Pride Nation by Proletarian Party became an inevitable outcome. 0

After remnants of Mingguo Party fled to Taiwan establishing a new regime there, they arrogantly issued statements claiming that it was Proletarian Party which instigated civil war and labeled them as historical criminals of Heavenly Pride Nation while inciting domestic reactionary forces to stage coups and allowing Mei Organization agents lurking within Heavenly Pride Nation to carry out terrorist attacks among other actions. Naturally, the newly established government of Heavenly Pride Nation would not accept such baseless accusations; while clarifying facts internationally and domestically they dispatched a secret action team affiliated with Heavenly Pride called Phantom Banner into Taiwan to assassinate those responsible for spreading such statements. 0

However, at that time Mei Organization’s infiltrating agents within Heavenly Pride Nation had not been completely eliminated yet; as soon as Phantom Banner team mobilized their operation Mei Organization agents received word about it. Consequently, Jiao Xinmou personally planned an explosion that claimed the lives of twenty top Phantom Banner operatives including Xin Yi’s father Xin Feng. Jiao Xinmou took great pride in this explosion which he considered his most glorious victory against Phantom Banner since their confrontation began. Indeed, this failure severely weakened Phantom Banner; all top operatives perished in that explosion which should have been avoided given their extensive experience in combat situations—yet what they did not expect was Jiao Xinmou’s willingness to sacrifice thousands of innocent lives for such a trap. 0

Those impersonating Taiwan Authorities and high-ranking military officials at the event along with staff members on site including soldiers on guard duty within three miles radius became victims of Jiao Xinmou’s operation alongside twenty Phantom Flag Members’ deaths serving as collateral damage. Therefore it is unclear who truly emerged victorious from this operation; however Jiao Xinmou exaggerated Phantom Flag Members’ threat significantly convincing everyone among Taiwan Authorities and military leadership that sacrificing around a thousand individuals for twenty Phantom Flag Members’ lives constituted an extremely profitable transaction. 0

Only one person expressed strong disapproval towards Jiao Xinmou’s orchestrated operation: General Gao Tingda from Taiwan Military high command—a nationalist warrior opposed civil wars and divisions while resisting any means employed by Mingguo Party solely aimed at consolidating their power during conflicts against island invaders where Gao’s army achieved remarkable feats. When Mingguo Party faced defeat in Taiwan Gao Tingda initially hesitated leaving his homeland unwillingly participating in further conflict between two factions representing people from Heavenly Pride Nation; thus he submitted his resignation intending retirement back home which Jiang Zhongzheng readily accepted due to longstanding discontent towards Gao. 0

However just as Gao prepared his belongings readying himself for return northward he discovered none of his soldiers wished follow Mingguo Party’s main force retreating towards Taiwan but instead opted accompany him back northward instead! Upon learning this news Mingguo Party assumed Gao intended rebellion dispatching large forces intending extermination—though Gao possessed capability counteracting remnants from Mingguo Party’s army he refused engage in fratricidal conflict ultimately compelled lead followers alongside remaining troops fleeing towards Taiwan. 0

Upon arrival in Taiwan General Gao Tingda faced exclusion from various quarters yet due largely due past accomplishments along with loyalty exhibited by his troops no immediate actions could be taken against him—but unexpectedly Jiao Xinmou devised another scheme resulting not only in Gao’s assassination but also successfully framing him for it. 0
