Captain Fetter of the ship "Wales" was sitting in his captain's cabin, savoring a glass of red wine when the phone on the table suddenly rang. He reached for the receiver and said, "This is Captain Fetter."
The voice on the other end replied, "Captain, the container truck from Limin Group has arrived."
"Oh," Captain Fetter responded, "let's start loading. I'll be up on deck shortly." After hanging up the phone and setting down his wine glass, he straightened his clothes, stood up, and walked out of the captain's cabin.
On the dock, the Gantry Crane had begun operation, lifting a container that slowly rose and moved toward the deck of the "Wales." Captain Fetter stood on the deck, watching the container approach, and asked the First Mate beside him, "Who are we escorting this time?"
The First Mate respectfully bent slightly and replied, "It's a newcomer. I don't think I've seen him before. He said there are other defenses in their unit, which is why they sent this newcomer."
"Oh? A newcomer?" Captain Fetter frowned in confusion. "He also mentioned they have other defenses?"
"Yes, that's what he said," the First Mate confirmed.
"How many people did they bring this time?" Captain Fetter asked again.
"As usual, one company and four troop transport vehicles."
Captain Fetter pondered for a moment and instructed the First Mate, "Make sure that only the leader comes aboard for this cargo transfer. None of his soldiers are allowed on board. Also, tell our Brothers on the ship to remain alert."
"What's wrong, Captain? Do you suspect them..." The First Mate asked in confusion but was interrupted by Captain Fetter.
"It's nothing. Maybe I'm just being overly cautious. I just have a vague feeling that something isn't right, but I can't pinpoint what it is. Perhaps I'm worrying too much. Anyway, don't dwell on it; just prepare as I requested."
Seeing Captain Fetter's hesitant expression, the First Mate reassured him, "Don't worry, Captain; there won't be any issues. We've been working with Limin Group for so many years; hasn't everything gone smoothly? Rest assured, I'll notify the Brothers to stay alert right away!"
The young officer in charge of the escort was about to board the ship with his soldiers when a voice suddenly came through the walkie-talkie held by a Sailor below: "Sailor below, please have the officer responsible for the escort from Limin Group come aboard to complete the handover procedures! Only the officer responsible for the escort from Limin Group is requested to come aboard to complete the handover procedures!" The Sailor immediately reached out to stop the Taiwan Soldiers who were about to board, saying, "The captain only requests the officer responsible for the escort to come aboard for the handover procedures! Please wait here on the dock, brothers!"
The young officers brought by the Taiwan Soldiers began to protest, clearly unwilling to let their officer go aboard alone. However, the officer waved his hand and said, "Stop making noise! Follow my orders! Everyone stay put! No one is allowed to board without my command!" Seeing that the soldiers were still hesitant, he explained, "We have been doing business with Moha Group for many years without any issues. I am just going aboard to handle some handover procedures; you all can wait here." Only then did the soldiers quiet down, and the young officer walked towards the boarding ladder.
At this point, two containers had already been lifted onto the ship, and about twenty Sailors were gathered on deck. Captain Fetter stood at the ladder to welcome the officer responsible for escorting Limin Group aboard. Completing handover procedures on board was a rule established since their cooperation began. Although this was within Taiwan's territory, there were many people at the dock and situations could be complex. The value of these finished drugs was comparable to gold, and there was no telling if some reckless individuals might have ulterior motives. The ship was a relatively safe place, which is why both parties had conducted handover procedures on board over the years. In fact, the handover process was not complicated; it merely involved Limin Group providing weight receipts from the dock, then opening and unsealing containers for inspection by those on board. After inspection, they would affix their own seals—this had mostly been a formality given their more than twenty years of cooperation.
The Taiwan officer had already climbed up the ladder and saluted Captain Fetter on deck, saying, "Hello, Captain! I am Company Commander Qin Dali from Taiwan's 114th Division, 24th Company, here on orders to escort military supplies and complete handover procedures!"
Captain Fetter returned a Lusang Nation-style salute and asked, "Qin Squad Leader? I don't think I've seen you before. Why didn't Li Lianzhang and Squad Leader come along? Is there a mission in your unit?"
"Yes," replied the young officer named Qin Dali loudly. "This morning our unit received an urgent mission, so Li Lianzhang, Squad Leader, and other officers went to carry it out. That’s why my commander sent me here for escort duty."
"Oh? Is that so?" Captain Fetter suddenly drew a Ruger P89 pistol and aimed it at the young officer. "You are lying! The 114th Division of Taiwan cannot possibly be executing any other military missions besides escorting Limin Group! Don’t you know this? Quickly tell me who you really are! Why are you impersonating an officer from the 114th Division?!"
The young officer was startled by Fitel Castro's sudden action. Seeing that Fitel Castro's gun was pointed at his chest made him so frightened that he could barely speak coherently. He stammered, "C-Captain, what do you mean by asking such questions? I am indeed an officer of Taiwan's 114th Division. The division has always been responsible for escorting Limin Group; however, what happened this morning is an internal matter of Limin Group. Therefore, besides my one company of soldiers here, everyone else went to carry out a mission for Limin Group."
Fitel Castro did not lower his gun and sneered, "Oh? What could possibly happen at Limin Group that would require deploying an entire division? What mission is worth such a fuss?"
"C-Captain," stammered the young officer nervously, "you don’t know? Limin Group was attacked by unidentified armed forces at dawn today. They... they planted bombs inside the company premises and caused severe damage! If we had delayed even a moment longer, these two shipments might not have made it out. Originally it was decided that Squad Leader would escort these two shipments; however, he was... blown apart by a bomb while trying to ensure their safety. That’s why my commander ordered me to lead troops for protection while others went to clear the scene and pursue those responsible for the explosion." The young officer answered tremulously.
"Really?" Captain Fetter still did not fully believe him and continued questioning: "What evidence do you have to prove you are not lying?"
"W-What kind of evidence can I provide?" The young officer seemed flustered by Captain Fetter's questions and anxiously said: "How can you not believe me? If you really don’t trust me, you can... call our commander... or even contact our chairman!"
"Alright, I'll call Chairman Jiang now," Captain Fetter said, his eyes fixed on the young officer. "What is Chairman Jiang's phone number?"
"Ah?" The young officer was taken aback and replied in confusion, "I don't know the chairman's phone number! How could I possibly know the chairman's phone number?" Seeing the sinister smile on Fitel Castro's face, he quickly added, "I really don't know! The chairman is Mr. President's uncle; how could someone like me, a junior officer, know his phone number?"
Captain Fetter stared at the young officer for a full minute before suddenly bursting into laughter. "Hahaha... it's Qin Squad Leader, right? Look, I was just joking with you. How could I possibly doubt you? Now, please open the cargo door so we can inspect the goods."
Hearing Fitel Castro's words, the young officer let out a sigh of relief, wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, and took out the key from his pocket. He walked to the cargo door, tore off the seal, and inserted the key into the lock. With a click, the lock on the cargo door opened. The young officer pulled both doors back suddenly and agilely leaped to the side of the cargo.
Suddenly, a barrage of bullets shot out from inside the opened cargo. Captain Fetter and his sailors were standing directly in front of the cargo door on the deck. The storm of bullets instantly turned everyone into a bloody mess, trembling as they fell into pools of blood. Some sailors who were not yet dead attempted to draw their guns to fight back but were immediately targeted by a group of black-clad men rushing out of the container. Captain Fetter didn't even have time to scream before he met his end. This former colonel of the Lusang Nation Navy and captain of the Wales was responsible for maritime trade and security for the Black K Party; his death did not come any slower due to his many titles. In fact, Captain Fetter was the first to be hit and also received the most bullets. Fortunately for him, he might have been the first to die. As captain, his death served as an example; he achieved that.
After a dense barrage of bullets, about twenty black-clad men armed with submachine guns leaped out from the container. They did not pause at all in front of the already deceased sailors. Under the direction of the young officer's gestures, they quickly rushed to various parts of the cargo ship. Two sailors at the stern heard gunfire from above and immediately drew their guns to rush onto the deck. But do not underestimate these sailors; before becoming sailors, they were soldiers of the Lusang Nation Navy with solid military training. Seeing their comrades being gunned down, they charged recklessly onto the deck with their guns drawn. However, even if they were from Lusang Nation Navy, they were no match for those black-clad men. After two bursts of bullets, those two sailors fell without a doubt into pools of blood as well. The black-clad men continued to rush towards various parts of the ship, clearly intent on wiping out everyone aboard.
The agile movements and coordinated actions of those black-clad men easily reminded one of special forces tasked with executing covert missions. Indeed, they were soldiers from a special forces unit—Beng Hu Company!
