What more is there to say about such a super madman, Xin Yi? If he were someone who easily gave up, he probably wouldn't have come up with such a grand plan. Xin Yi thought for a moment and asked, "Do you think you will succeed?"
"Of course," Kobe Bryant replied without hesitation. "Every step I take is a success; these successes are the foundation for my ultimate success. It's inevitable."
"Well," Xin Yi felt there was no need to continue discussing with such a madman, so he calmly said, "Have you finished speaking? If you're done, you can leave. I still want to rest for a while before Mr. Bryant takes over the Earth."
"But you haven't stated your conditions. Although I don't like greedy people, I also dislike partners who consider themselves above needing compensation. The truth is, not stating conditions only means wanting more," Kobe Bryant said.
Xin Yi was almost ready to curse; this madman was so inflated with confidence that he truly believed everyone would be moved by his grand plan. It wasn't that Xin Yi considered himself above others; he just found Kobe Bryant somewhat ridiculous.
"Don't you think what you're doing is laughable? To rule the Earth? I'm not even going to mention whether you can do it or not; even if you could, what would it mean? Moreover, why can you do it when others can't? Even if you ruled the Earth, it would only make it easier for someone else to take over your empire. Once you've realized your grand plan, all someone has to do is eliminate you and take your place. See? How simple is that? Is this really the outcome you desire?" Xin Yi scoffed.
"Hahaha... eliminate me?" Kobe Bryant suddenly burst into loud laughter. "Are you referring to those assassins? Let me tell you, the top assassins from major assassin groups around the world are basically under my control. In fact, the contracts to kill Kobe Bryant that those assassin groups received were issued by me. I simply wanted the top assassins from various groups to gather here. If they could kill me, I wouldn't be here talking to you."
"Although you're completely wrong, I don't feel like explaining why anymore," Xin Yi said calmly. "Alright, you can leave now; please close the door behind you."
"Hahaha..." Kobe Bryant laughed again, but this time his laughter was cold and stern, like an owl in a midnight forest. After finishing his laughter, he coldly said, "Do you think I said all this just to chat with you? Unless you agree to cooperate with me, I won't let someone who knows so many of my secrets leave here. You choose."
Xin Yi deliberately put on a mocking expression and laughed, "Mr. Bryant, I think I've made my point clear from the beginning. I already said that I won't agree to anything from you. Do you think I'm someone who easily changes my decisions? So I won't be choosing anything."
Kobe Bryant's expression began to shift from stern to ferocious. This ferocity didn't stem from being vicious but rather from anger at Xin Yi's words. He had never encountered someone who dared to refuse him before; what was even more infuriating was that this young man lying in a hospital bed had been mocking him from the start while he confidently laid everything out for him. A once-great figure like Kobe Bryant had never been toyed with like this; why should he keep someone so ungrateful around?
In truth, Kobe Bryant's composure had long reached a level where he remained unperturbed by praise or criticism, standing firm even when faced with adversity. He himself couldn't understand why he was so angry today—was it because this young man refused to cooperate with him? But he had encountered stubborn people before; at most, he would ignore them and never felt angered by it. Was it because this young man's words contradicted his own ideals? No, that wasn't it either; there had always been self-righteous critics who called his dreams foolish fantasies, yet he never got angry because he felt discussing lofty ideals with ordinary people was akin to playing music for cattle. So what could possibly make him so furious? Ah! It was contempt! In the past, whether it was principled individuals refusing to cooperate or moralists criticizing him after learning of his grand ideals, they would undoubtedly be deeply shocked and then lash out at him. But this young man before him showed no shock at all; he didn't curse at him like others did—he remained calm as if everything Kobe said was just a joke. This kind of disdain directed at him made Kobe Bryant furious—extremely furious!
"Alright, it seems I've overestimated you. Since you're foolishly choosing to accompany Satan, I won't stop you." At that moment, Kobe Bryant calmed down instead; for such a foolish person about to head into hell, his contempt didn't need much thought—his death would merely mean one less foolish person in the world. After saying this, Kobe Bryant turned and pulled open the door of the hospital room and walked out.
Little Kobe and Topology were waiting in the corridor outside when they saw Kobe Bryant come out. They hurried over, and Kobe Bryant coldly said to Topology, "Topology, let's go outside and wait for you in the car." Without even glancing at Lijie, he led the group away.
Topology was taken aback by Kobe Bryant's words. A flicker of determination crossed his eyes as he watched Kobe Bryant and his group disappear at the elevator before turning back to Lijie and saying, "Madam, let's go in."
The two entered the hospital room, where Xin Yi smiled at Topology and said, "Topology, did Kobe Bryant tell you to kill us?"
"Yes," Topology answered honestly.
"Then what will you do?" Xin Yi continued to smile at Topology.
"I will not defy Boss's orders. From the day I accepted the employment, my life has already been sold to him, so I have no right to resist," Topology replied.
"Well then, if I can die by the hands of the Arabian Nation's Fastest Blade Master, I suppose I should have no regrets," Xin Yi surprisingly laughed.
Topology looked at Xin Yi with disbelief and said, "Xin, do you really not cherish your life this much?"
"It's not that I don't cherish my life; it's just that in my current situation, I stand no chance against you. I don't even have an opportunity to resist, don't you think?"
"Xin, I don't want to kill you, really," Topology said. "Actually, when we sparred that day, you could have killed me easily, but you didn't. So, I owe you a life."
After a pause, Topology firmly stated, "So this time I’ve decided to return it to you!" He drew a short knife from his waist and continued, "The only way now is for you to kill me and then find a way to leave here quickly. You must leave Lusang Nation as fast as possible; once the Black K Party starts their investigation, you won't even have a chance to escape."
Taking a few steps forward, Topology handed the short knife to Xin Yi and said, "Xin, my friend, hurry up! You need to act quickly; otherwise, you won't be able to get away!"
Looking at the sincere expression on Topology's face, Xin Yi suddenly laughed again: "Hahaha... Topology, my friend, do you think I'm such a despicable person? To kill my friend just for my own escape? No, I won't do that."
"Xin, you can't do this!" Topology exclaimed anxiously. "If we don't do it this way, we will all die! They won't just kill you; they will kill me too, because they cannot allow any betrayal! Hurry, give me the knife!" As he spoke, Topology reached for the short knife in Xin Yi's hand. Since Xin Yi couldn't take action, he decided to do it himself.
Just as Topology stepped forward and extended his hand to grab the knife from Xin Yi, a strange fragrance suddenly filled his nostrils. He saw Xin Yi looking at him with a peculiar expression, and then Topology felt darkness envelop him. He collapsed to the ground, powerless, and fainted.
Xin Yi made a gesture of approval to Lijie and pressed the call button by the bedside. Moments later, several hospital staff members pushed two carts into the room. Without saying a word, they first threw a package to Lijie. She caught it and turned to enter the bathroom inside the room. Then, the others lifted Topology from the floor and placed him on one cart while moving Xin Yi from the bed to another cart. At that moment, Lijie also emerged from the bathroom, now wearing a set of hospital work clothes, her hair tucked into a cap and a mask covering her face. The staff covered both Xin Yi and Topology with white cloths and pushed the carts out of the room into the staff-only elevator.
Kobe Bryant sat in his luxurious stretch limousine while Little Kobe sat across from him chatting. "Father, why must we kill them?"
"Because they are as foolish as everyone else. Such foolish people do not deserve to enjoy success," Kobe Bryant replied. "Dai, after we return, filter through those captured assassins. Keep those willing to serve us and send the unwilling straight to hell. I believe there are too many foolish people in this world; filtering out some will make it cleaner."
"Yes, Father. These foolish people are not worth mourning," Little Kobe agreed.
At that moment, a hearse approached from a distance and entered the hospital's internal parking lot not far from Kobe Bryant's car. "Look, people die every day, but how many of those who have died leave their names in this world? They are destined to be forgotten," Kobe Bryant said.
A few minutes later, the hearse drove out again. Kobe Bryant watched it leave and murmured, "I am sure that when such a person dies, even their son will quickly forget them because they have left nothing valuable in this world; they have merely consumed decades of Earth's limited resources."
Little Kobe did not respond further because he noticed his father's unusual behavior today. He continuously denied the value of ordinary people—why was that? A truly valuable person does not need to negate others to affirm themselves; smart people know that such actions only lead to one result: an attempt to cover up that which is obvious.
