A group of people left the villa, with Zhong Kai leading the brothers of Beng Hu Lian back to Longchuan overnight. Along with them were a large number of firearms and ammunition taken from Xu Lao's armory. The brothers of Beng Hu Lian were all excited, as they could finally play with these firearms. After learning about the events that transpired, Xin Yi couldn't help but feel emotional. He was also certain that Xu Maogong would come looking for Big Bull and would regard him as everything. In the car, Wang Fang kept a concerned eye on the nearly exhausted Qin Dali, continuously offering him tissues to wipe his sweat. The next day at the bidding event, Junxing Group indeed won the bid as expected. After completing the relevant procedures and returning to the hotel for a simple lunch, they drove back to Longchuan. Consequently, the atmosphere during the drive was quite gloomy.
Even Shu Rui appeared disinterested; on the way back, she did not ride with Xin Yi but directly got into her company's Mercedes-Benz S600, leaving Xin Yi feeling somewhat frustrated.
However, it seemed that Qin Dali and Wang Fang's relationship had progressed rapidly. If it weren't for Shu Rui pulling Wang Fang along with her, Qin Dali and Wang Fang would likely have stuck together again. Reluctantly getting into Xin Yi's car, Qin Dali scratched his head shyly when Xin Yi smiled and asked, "Dali, it seems you had a good talk last night. Does this mean Little Siyu might have a mom now?"
Qin Dali bashfully replied, "Brother Xin, please don't tease me; this matter will have to wait until I meet Wang Fang's parents before anything can be decided."
"Oh? So you’re going to meet her parents? You’re quite bold," Xin Yi chuckled.
"Haha... let's talk about that later. By the way, Brother Xin, what are our plans for Beng Hu Lian next? Should we seize all of Binhai quickly?" Qin Dali seized the opportunity to change the subject.
"There's no rush on that front; we need to take things step by step regarding our territory. Even if we manage to take it now, Three Tiger Group doesn't have enough manpower to take over immediately. How about this: after we return home, let's take the Brothers into the mountains for some training first? It will also be a good opportunity for them to practice using firearms and jungle combat skills. After returning to Longchuan, Shu Rui's group went straight back to Junxing Group while Qin Dali took a taxi back to Beng Hu Lian's base. Xin Yi took Big Bull to visit Shen Shanshan at the hospital and bought a bouquet of carnations along with two pounds of longan before hurriedly entering the hospital.
As soon as they reached Shen Shanshan's ward door, they heard a sharp male voice from inside saying: "This is outrageous! Do you know you are illegally detaining someone? You will be held legally responsible!"
Then they heard Mother Shen's voice saying: "Wang Secretary, please don't get angry; this matter may not necessarily involve our Dawei; he hasn't even mentioned it to me."
The sharp male voice continued: "What do you mean he didn't do it? Someone clearly saw Kosen being taken away by him in a military vehicle! Are you still trying to deny it? Do you really think no one in the military can hold you accountable? Let me tell you: if you don't release him immediately, Madam Qiao says she will go report this in the capital!"
Xin Yi understood the situation upon hearing this. It turned out that Josen's family had learned that he was sent to the army by Shen Liwei, and they had come to demand an explanation. As Xin Yi stepped into the hospital room, he saw a White-Faced Man with glasses and a slicked-back hairstyle standing arrogantly inside, spitting words in a showy manner. His demeanor was truly irritating. Mother Shen stood beside him, clearly intimidated by the visitor's presence. It was hard to believe that the wife of a major general in the military district could be reprimanded like this by a mere secretary. Lying on the hospital bed, Shen Shanshan looked furious, her small face flushed red, unable to speak due to her anger.
“Shanshan, I came to see you. How are you? Have you been feeling better these past couple of days?” Xin Yi ignored Mother Shen and the White-Faced Man, walking straight to Shen Shanshan's bedside with a smile.
Big Bull also boomed, “Sister, Big Bull is here to see you too.”
“Oh, Xin Yi, you... you’re back!” Shen Shanshan couldn't hide her surprise and then pouted in grievance, saying, “Why were you gone for three days? Didn’t you say you would be back in two?”
Xin Yi thought to himself when did I ever say it would be two days? Didn’t I tell her it would take two or three days at most? How did it suddenly turn into two days? However, he didn’t voice this and simply smiled, replying, “There was a bit of a delay, so I returned a day later. I came straight here as soon as I got back. By the way, why is it so noisy in your room? Who was shouting just now? Doesn’t anyone know how to behave?”
“Who the hell are you calling a pet?!” a sharp male voice shouted again.
Xin Yi turned around to look at the White-Faced Man, surprised as he said, “No way! Is it you? Sorry, I thought it was someone’s pet.” After saying this, Xin Yi turned back and saw Shen Shanshan trying not to laugh. He winked at her, and upon seeing his expression, she couldn’t hold back any longer and burst into laughter, her shoulders shaking.
“Damn it! You better explain who the pet is?!” White-Faced Man exploded in anger, his voice even sharper than before.
“Well, since you're so fixated on it, I guess I have no choice but to tell you,” Xin Yi said with a smile directed at the White-Faced Man. “Of course I'm talking about you. Do you think there are any other pets in this room?”
“Who... who are you?” The White-Faced Man was so infuriated by Xin Yi's shamelessness that he couldn't find his words. He hoped that Xin Yi was someone influential in the official circles; then he could use his status to deal with him harshly in the future.
“Who are you?” Xin Yi countered without answering his question, wearing a teasing expression.
“I? If I told you, it would scare you to death! Listen up! I am Wang Jingwei, the first secretary of Secretary Qiao of the Provincial Committee in Binhai Province!” The White-Faced Man boasted with his nose in the air.
Silence filled the room... Wang Jingwei seemed quite pleased with this effect. Hmph! How about that? Once my name is mentioned, you're speechless now? Begging for mercy won’t help! Even if you beg for mercy, I will still make sure to deal with you harshly! He thought smugly while continuing to look down his nose at Xin Yi, waiting for him to plead for mercy.
However, after waiting for what felt like an eternity without hearing any expected pleas for mercy from Xin Yi, he wondered if this guy had been scared silly. Could his name be that intimidating? With this thought in mind, Wang Jingwei snorted again and arrogantly said, “So how about it? Scared... huh?” But he never got to finish his sentence because as he lowered his head while speaking, he witnessed something unbelievable.
Xin Yi was sitting by the bed, carefully peeling longan and feeding Shen Shanshan. Big Bull was inserting a bouquet of carnations that Xin Yi had bought into a vase. Mother Shen stood by the bed holding a tissue, presumably ready to wipe Shen Shanshan's mouth. I can't believe it! After all this time, no one is listening to me? My efforts to put on a show have gone completely unnoticed. Wang Jingwei's confidence has taken an unprecedented hit; he felt like smashing his silver teeth in frustration!
Of course, Xin Yi was doing this on purpose. The best way to deal with someone who relies on their power is to ignore them. There’s an even better method—just take them out! But there was no opportunity for Xin Yi to do that now, so she simply chose to ignore him. If he wanted to act like a fool, let him; if he became too annoying, she could just throw him downstairs.
"You guys are too much!" Wang Jingwei was nearly spitting blood. When had the first secretary of the Provincial Party Secretary ever been treated like this? His anger left him at a loss for words, even though he usually had a sharp tongue.
"Are you done? If you're done, you can leave," Xin Yi said without turning her head, her tone indifferent.
"Fine! Just wait! I'll have Madam Qiao come to the capital to report you! Then..."
"Big Bull, please escort this person out and throw him out of the hospital door," Xin Yi interrupted Wang Jingwei impatiently and instructed Big Bull.
"Got it, Brother Xin," Big Bull replied without hesitation. He walked over to Wang Jingwei, bent down, and grabbed his ankle, lifting him upside down. Wang Jingwei felt the world spin as Big Bull hoisted him into the air, causing his glasses, phone, wallet, and keys to fall from his pockets. Without saying another word, Big Bull carried Wang Jingwei out of the ward, crushing some of the items on the floor with his large feet.
Wang Jingwei struggled in mid-air and continued to threaten them. Big Bull grumbled in a deep voice, "If you keep talking, I'll just throw you off the building!"
Wang Jingwei immediately fell silent. Given the current situation, he had every reason to believe that this giant was indeed a man of his word.
