"You want to rebel?!" Before Wang Wei could speak, a gun-wielding armed police officer shouted first. This group was used to flaunting their power when arresting people; they had never encountered such brazen and unruly citizens. How dare the police be obstructed while carrying out their duties? "Tch!" The armed police officer scoffed disdainfully, "Why should the police explain anything to you? Who do you think you are? Get out of the way!"
Little did he know that his foolish words stirred unrest among the crowd. Even Wang Wei couldn't help but turn around and glare at him, thinking to himself, "How did such an idiot come about? Provoking the masses is no joke; if they really riot, can you just shoot these innocent people? What a muscle-bound fool with nothing but crap in his head!"
Sure enough, the crowd grew angry: "So what if you're police? Don't forget that you're funded by the people!"
"This is how you treat those who pay your salaries?!"
"In the end, I'm still your benefactor; what’s so impressive about that?!"
"Beat this ungrateful scoundrel to death!"

The clamor grew louder and louder as the crowd became more agitated, slowly closing in on a group in the center. Those who had just exited the elevator were surrounded by the crowd. Huang Mang and several respected older brothers also came down but did not stop the crowd's actions. Instead, Huang Mang shot a glance at Xin Yi and made a gesture as if to make a phone call. Xin Yi understood that Huang Mang was asking if he wanted to summon Beng Hu Lian over. Xin Yi shook his head in response.
The scene was at a standstill. The previously arrogant young officer had already lost his nerve, his gun hand trembling uncontrollably, clearly frightened. How could someone like him even qualify to be a police officer? Wang Wei sighed, suspecting that he was just another product of nepotism, bringing shame to the police force. Taking a deep breath, he spoke loudly, "Everyone, please calm down! Listen to me! I am the commander of this operation. My name is Wang Wei, and I am the captain of the Longchuan City Public Security Bureau Criminal Police Team!" His loud and authoritative voice helped to quell the restless crowd somewhat.
"We are here to bring Mr. Xin back for assistance in investigating a murder case! Rest assured, our Criminal Police Team will not wrongfully accuse an innocent person! If Mr. Xin is innocent, he will naturally return soon!" Wang Wei continued loudly. His words were carefully crafted; he first mentioned assisting in the investigation, then assured that they would not wrongfully accuse anyone, and finally stated that if Mr. Xin was innocent, he would be back quickly. Of course, if it had been the earlier young officer speaking, he would have conveyed the same meaning in a much harsher tone: "Our Criminal Police Team will not wrongfully accuse an innocent person, but we also will not let a guilty person go! If Mr. Xin is innocent, he can return quickly; however, if he is not..." Such statements were bound to provoke anger; thus, sometimes the art of language is very important!
After Wang Wei's speech, the crowd had mostly calmed down. His words made sense; after all, there were too many people to cause chaos. Moreover, Xin Yi had not spoken up yet. However, there were always a few troublemakers in the crowd, such as the Suit Man from earlier. Since there was no opportunity to exploit this situation directly, he decided to take a roundabout approach and loudly questioned, "We have no objections to what Captain Wang said, but what about what that comrade said earlier?! Why can't we get an explanation? And why all this talk about 'old man' and 'young man'? Is this the quality of your police force?! An apology is necessary!"
"Yes! An apology is necessary!"
"Otherwise, keep him here!" The crowd began to stir again; they were clearly looking for trouble and found an excuse to do so.
Suddenly, a series of gunshots rang out. Dust flew from the ceiling as everyone froze in shock—not only the members of the Three Tiger Group but also Wang Wei and his team. The armed officers quickly went on high alert as more sounds of gun bolts being pulled echoed through the air. The tense atmosphere was about to explode; some frightened individuals crouched down with their heads covered while chaos ensued around them. Only Xin Yi remained calmly observing everything with a smile.
"Who the hell fired that shot?!" Wang Wei reacted quickly and snatched away the submachine gun from the young officer beside him. He was furious; this officer was supposed to assist him in carrying out his mission and was not under his direct command. But this young officer had caused enough trouble by firing a weapon at such a critical moment—wasn't that just adding chaos? After taking away the gun, Wang Wei ordered two detectives, "Handcuff him!"
In truth, that poor young officer did not mean to fire; seeing the crowd rushing towards him and shouting about keeping him there startled him into pulling the trigger. Fortunately, he had aimed at the ceiling; otherwise, if someone had been hurt, it would have been disastrous for him. Upon hearing that Captain Wang wanted to detain him, the leading officer from their team approached: "Captain Wang, we can't detain him; he's Deputy Director Jiang's son."
Wang Wei couldn't help but feel amused at this revelation—what a perfect opportunity! Deputy Director Jiang and Director Lu were old rivals who had often suppressed Lu without mercy. However, Director Lu preferred not to engage in underhanded tactics and always swallowed his pride. This was an excellent chance for Wang Wei to vent some frustration on Jiang's son! Such a foolish son could only come from someone like Deputy Director Jiang. With narrowed eyes, he snapped back: "I don't care whose son he is! Handcuff him! We'll turn him over to our superiors!"
Once the members of the Three Tiger Group realized what was happening, they erupted in outrage. They shouted angrily that police officers should not recklessly fire weapons without regard for civilian lives—this was unacceptable! Did they really think they could act with impunity just because they had guns?! The Suit Man wore an expression of righteous indignation as he shouted: "Brothers! The police have fired shots at us! What law have we broken? How dare they do this?! Brothers, close the doors! I refuse to believe they can kill us all here! If they don't kill us all, we won't let them leave!"
As soon as he finished speaking, two men grabbed the remote control for the large door and began operating it; the massive rolling door slowly descended... The detectives and armed officers turned their gazes toward Wang Wei, waiting for his orders. But what could Wang Wei do now? Any movement from the police could escalate tensions further; if the crowd got agitated enough to act violently, things could spiral out of control very quickly. Wang Wei silently lamented that this wasn't a company—it felt more like an independent kingdom where the king's authority was extremely high. This situation was giving him a headache! If it weren't for that foolish Jiang Young Master causing all this trouble, things might not have escalated so badly. With that thought in mind, Wang Wei shot another glare at Jiang Young Master—who looked disheveled and trembling—and cursed inwardly: "Just like your father—a complete fool!"
At this moment, Xin Yi felt it was time for him to step in; he had seen enough of this drama unfold and understood his brothers' loyalty well enough—it was time to resolve this issue. Did they really want to clash with the police? He certainly did not want to engage in such pointless antics.
Xin Yi cleared his throat, took a few steps forward, and just as the two detectives beside him were about to stop him, Wang Wei shook his head at them. Xin Yi said, "Brothers and sisters of the Three Tiger Group, I am deeply grateful for your protection! However, the police need my cooperation in investigating a case. As law-abiding citizens of Heavenly Pride Nation, we have an obligation to cooperate. So, I hope you can give me some face and let us go. Rest assured, I will not leave the Three Tiger Group or my brothers and sisters!"
A round of applause erupted, leaving the police feeling quite frustrated; they had unknowingly organized an emotional farewell.
"Alright, we will listen to Mr. Xin. But since this is for assisting in the investigation, you need to remove Mr. Xin's handcuffs!" Suit Man jumped in again, not forgetting to fight for one last bit of authority.
Wang Wei took the key and personally unlocked Xin Yi's handcuffs. The main door slowly rose, and the group walked outside. Just as Xin Yi reached the doorway, he heard a soft childish voice say, "Uncle, Uncle." Turning around, he saw Qin Siyu being held by Li Fei calling out to him. Ever since Qin Dali went to Beng Hu Lian as a commander, Xin Yi had sent Qin Siyu to Li Fei since she and Wang Hao were usually at the company all day and rarely went home. Having an extra little girl around was no problem; it could even bring them some joy.
At that moment, Wang Hao, Li Fei, and Little Siyu huddled together like a happy family of three. Little Siyu even reached out her hand to wave goodbye to Xin Yi. It seemed everyone was influenced by Little Siyu; about three hundred people raised their hands in unison to wave goodbye to Xin Yi. He smiled and waved back a few times with his right hand. As he turned away, Xin Yi cursed inwardly: "What is going on? This is so sentimental it’s making my nose feel tingly."
The group boarded the police car and sped away.
Unfortunately, Jiang Young Master was handcuffed alongside Xin Yi. Ironically, the suspect was not wearing cuffs while the armed police who came to apprehend him were taken away in handcuffs. This world is indeed a bit crazy!
