The ten or so people surrounding Yin Xinli were his direct subordinates and close bodyguards. Most of them were seasoned street fighters, with several having backgrounds as special forces. Their skills were not to be underestimated; an average man would be on the ground and unable to move within twenty seconds in front of them. Yin Xinli had not personally taken action in years; indulgence in alcohol and women had drained his body. He often relied on blue pills just to barely function as a man. However, this only fueled his increasingly twisted desire to torment women, as only perverse torture could satisfy his warped psyche. Hearing that a virgin could enhance vitality, he sought out maidens by any means necessary, making it a crucial task for his underlings. Those who brought verified virgins to him were rewarded with territory or other benefits. His subordinates understood this preference and sought to curry favor with the generous Third-in-Command, leading to a continuous supply of fresh "goods." While some willingly participated for money, most were coerced or threatened, and others were forcibly taken by Yin Xinli.
Having committed so many heinous acts, Yin Xinli was also afraid—afraid someone might come for his life. Thus, he surrounded himself with carefully selected individuals whose Kung Fu was naturally formidable.
Seeing the group closing in, Xin Yi smiled brightly as he sat in his chair, not moving an inch but calmly observing the menacing faces of the approaching thugs.
The thugs hesitated to act against someone who was seated. There were rules on the streets; attacking someone unprovoked was disgraceful. Although they were merely enforcers, they understood the importance of maintaining decorum. For this reason alone, Xin Yi decided not to make things overly difficult for them.
However, Yin Xinli could no longer contain himself and shouted, "What the hell are you waiting for?! Get him!"
With their Third-in-Command's fury ignited, the group could no longer delay. The two men at the front shouted "Watch out!" as they lunged towards Xin Yi's shoulders with a small grappling technique. Just as their hands made contact with his arms, Xin Yi suddenly shook his shoulders and swiftly reversed their grips, seizing their elbows and applying downward force until both arms dislocated from their shoulders.
With one effective strike, Xin Yi's figure shot out from the chair like a ghost, weaving through the crowd with incredible speed before returning to his seat. The thugs stood there with drooping right arms, bewildered expressions on their faces—clearly, their right arms were completely dislocated—and the entire hall fell silent.
At that moment, a gunshot shattered the stillness in the air. Both Xin Yi and Lijie executed perfect backflips simultaneously, landing steadily three feet behind their chairs.
"Second Brother!" Huang Mang's shout drew everyone's attention—except for Xin Yi and Lijie—along with one other person: Hong Tianhu. Yin Xinli sat slumped in his chair, a smoking gun still gripped in his right hand, while a small throwing knife was embedded in his forehead. He had ceased breathing, his wide eyes staring blankly at the ceiling—a silent testament to his endless attachment to this tumultuous world.
The crowd stirred not only due to Yin Xinli's death but also in awe of how Xin Yi had evaded the bullet and effortlessly thrown a knife in that instant. What terrifying Kung Fu this must be! The crowd's perception of Xin Yi shifted to one of overwhelming strength—unmatched strength! Despite Xin Yi having killed their Third-in-Command, their emotions now mixed anger with profound respect for such power.
Hong Tianhu sat in the center without glancing at the lifeless Yin Xinli. He raised his right hand authoritatively before bringing it down again, restoring silence throughout the hall as everyone focused on this imposing elder—the founder of Three Tiger Hall and Third-in-Command.
Hong Tianhu surveyed the room before pausing briefly on Lijie; he then fixed his gaze on Xin Yi and spoke deliberately: "It seems Brother Xin has chosen to be an enemy of Three Tiger Hall?"
"Third-in-Command is mistaken," Xin Yi replied calmly as he pulled Lijie back into a seat. "I had no knowledge of Three Tiger Hall until today. The incident began when I taught a lesson to a vile rogue. You should already understand what happened next. As for you, Third-in-Command—mixing in such underhanded tactics is disgraceful for someone in your position; such people are hardly worth lamenting over. If you believe I am set against Three Tiger Hall, then so be it."
"Very well," Hong Tianhu said as he rose from his chair and walked slowly toward the center of the hall. His steady pace and commanding presence made Xin Yi nod inwardly.
Xin Yi stepped forward to meet him until they stood three feet apart in the center of the hall.
"Youth, do not hold back; give it your all! I will make my move now!"
"Alright."
As soon as the words were spoken, Xin Yi felt a strong wind rushing towards him. Hong Tianhu's massive fist, accompanied by a thunderous sound, was already aimed at his chest. Xin Yi quickly crouched to avoid Hong Tianhu's punch, but Hong Tianhu's fist did not stop; it suddenly seemed to extend several inches out of nowhere and struck directly at Xin Yi's chest. Startled, Xin Yi barely managed to push off the ground with his toes and retreated five feet just as the fist brushed against his clothing. It turned out that Hong Tianhu was using an incredibly powerful long-range punch. Xin Yi thought to himself how close he had come to being injured; if that punch had landed, even a stone slab as thick as a human body would likely have shattered in two, let alone flesh and blood.
Despite being an elderly man in his sixties, Hong Tianhu's agility was astonishing. Just as Xin Yi regained his footing, Hong Tianhu's long punch was already in front of him, still targeting Xin Yi's left chest. Having learned from the previous encounter, Xin Yi dared not underestimate him. He spun his body to evade the punch while simultaneously swinging his left hand towards the bend of Hong Tianhu's right arm. Hong Tianhu did not dodge; their arms collided forcefully. Xin Yi felt a numbness in his arm as his left hand lost half its strength. What powerful external martial arts! Xin Yi thought.
Hong Tianhu quickly raised both arms, attacking Xin Yi's head from both sides. If this strike landed, Xin Yi's head would likely explode like a watermelon. In a moment of desperation, Xin Yi sprang up five feet into the air and performed a forward flip over Hong Tianhu's head, narrowly avoiding the deadly blow. Hong Tianhu could not stop his momentum; the two fists collided with a sound reminiscent of heavy metal striking metal.
Faced with such a fierce assault, Xin Yi had no choice but to change tactics, fully utilizing agile movements and speed to dart around and target Hong Tianhu's vulnerable areas instead of clashing head-on. As a result, Hong Tianhu found himself overwhelmed and unable to unleash his powerful long punches freely; both sides were evenly matched.
In the blink of an eye, they had fought for dozens of rounds. At the moment they passed each other, Xin Yi heard Hong Tianhu's low voice: "Next attack my left chest." Xin Yi was taken aback; Hong Tianhu had already turned and struck with a punch. However, Xin Yi noticed that Hong Tianhu's left chest was completely exposed. Just as he contemplated whether to strike with full force, he heard Hong Tianhu's lowered voice: "Hurry!" Without hesitation, Xin Yi delivered a palm strike but only used thirty percent of his strength.
The palm struck precisely at Hong Tianhu's left chest. Xin Yi watched as Hong Tianhu staggered back several steps, placing a hand on his left chest and spitting out a mouthful of blood with a "thud," nearly collapsing.
"Big Brother! Third-in-Command!" The crowd gasped in shock.
Huang Mang's tall figure leaped over to support the swaying Hong Tianhu.
"Big Brother! Are you okay?"
"It's nothing," Hong Tianhu pushed Huang Mang away and straightened his chest as he said, "Brother Xin, you won!"
Xin Yi stood still without responding, only looking at Hong Tianhu with questioning eyes. He knew very well that the previous strike was intentionally allowed by Hong Tianhu. Even though he had hit his chest, he had only used thirty percent of his strength; there was no way it could have caused him to spit blood and stand unsteadily. Thus, Xin Yi was puzzled and wanted to see what trick Hong Tianhu was playing.
"Kill him for Third-in-Command!" someone shouted from the crowd.
Hong Tianhu waved his hand, and the entire hall fell silent again.
"Everyone step back!" Hong Tianhu commanded. "Take Second Brother's body away for a proper burial; handle how to comfort the family according to custom."
The crowd quietly dispersed as Yin Xinli's body was carried away. Xin Yi remained standing in place, silently watching Hong Tianhu.
"Hahaha!" Suddenly, Hong Tianhu laughed heartily towards the sky, showing no signs of weakness from earlier injuries or blood loss; instead, he appeared full of energy as the air in the hall trembled slightly.
Huang Mang looked at his elder brother in confusion, and even Lijie was filled with doubt. Only Xin Yi stood silently, expressionless.
"Brother Xin! Well done! I knew I wasn't mistaken. If you had put all your strength into that palm strike, I might have really coughed up blood; I wouldn't have died, but I would have suffered serious internal injuries. It proves that Brother Xin is straightforward and has an extraordinary demeanor!"
"Why did you do that?" Xin Yi asked calmly without smiling. An elderly man in his sixties was betting his life; if it weren't for something significant, he wouldn't act this way. Xin Yi wanted to know the reason.
Upon hearing Xin Yi's words, Hong Tianhu's expression dimmed slightly. After a moment of silence, he said, "Third, you take Brother Xin upstairs first. I have something to say to you both."
He then turned to Lijie and said, "Miss, you are a descendant of the Li Family, right?"
"Yes," Lijie replied with a slight bow.
"Indeed. Sigh, this is all retribution for the second one," Hong Tianhu sighed.
"Why does the Third-in-Command say that?"
"It's nothing. You killed him today; I won't hold it against you... and no one will... blame you. You should rest downstairs for a while; I have something to discuss with Brother Xin." After saying this, Hong Tianhu turned and went upstairs, but Lijie clearly heard him let out a few low sighs.
