"Young Master, Future Lady, the Master has called for you to have breakfast," Huang Ma lightly knocked on Xinran's door and called out.
"Come on, I can't bear to let you leave on an empty stomach!" Hearing Huang Ma's words, Mu Shaosi got out of bed, leaned against the headboard, and looked intently at Xinran, who was curled up tightly with her back to him. Had he become such a threat that she felt the need to maintain such a defensive posture for hours?
Xinran moved slightly and replied calmly, "I'm not very hungry; you go ahead!"
"Without your breakfast, I'm afraid I won't be able to eat..." Saying this, Mu Shaosi scooped Xinran up and cradled her in his arms, smiling at her shocked expression.
"Ah..." Xinran felt dizzy for a moment. Once she regained her composure, she glared at Mu Shaosi and scolded, "Can you stop messing around? Don't forget you are still injured!"
"Hehe!" Mu Shaosi chuckled softly, his voice filled with charm. "So my 'ex-wife' is still so concerned about my well-being; it really touches me!"
Sitting at the dining table, Takahashi Ryu watched the young man affectionately carry Xinran out of the bedroom and to the table. He then gently placed her in a chair and piled all her favorite foods in front of her. The level of care made Takahashi Ryu raise his eyebrows in surprise as he eagerly asked, "Hey kid, what’s going on? With your skills, did you get some good news about Xinran overnight?"
"I wish!" Mu Shaosi didn’t look at his grandfather but picked up a fork and offered a piece of bacon to Xinran.
"I can do it myself," Xinran said as she took the fork from him and lowered her head to eat from her plate. She had no interest in interrupting their grandfather-grandson conversation; at that moment, she truly experienced the nature of Old Master. Despite having a childlike mentality, he had once walked through the bloody world of the Underworld, making it hard for her to imagine his past.
"Really useless!" Takahashi Ryu snorted coldly and continued eating his own breakfast.
"Young Master, there is a visitor named Mr. Ogi outside," the old butler entered and respectfully reported to Mu Shaosi.
"Ogi Ruisheng has finally arrived!" Mu Shaosi quickly stood up and walked toward the door. Upon seeing Ogi Ruisheng, they embraced each other warmly and exchanged fist bumps.
"Young Master Si, am I on time?" Ogi Ruisheng smiled as he looked at Mu Shaosi.
"There is still time for breakfast together!"
As for Xinran, who was sitting at the table, she was taken aback when she saw the person who walked in. She dropped her knife and fork, staring blankly at the lawyer who had participated in the biggest gamble of her life, and who was also Mu Shaosi's friend, Ogi Ruisheng.
She wasn't foolish; she knew that Ogi Ruisheng's visit was not simply to facilitate her divorce from Mu Shaosi. After all, signing a document could be handled by any law firm or lawyer. As for why he was really there, only Mu Shaosi would know!
"Miss Xia, hello. You should remember me, right? Ogi Ruisheng!" After greeting Takahashi Ryu, Ogi Ruisheng walked over to Xinran and spoke first.
"Lawyer Ogi, how could I forget?" Xinran stood up, turned to face Ogi Ruisheng, and scrutinized him before asking, "Lawyer Ogi, may I ask what brings you here today?"
"Haha, Miss Xia's straightforward personality is truly refreshing. No wonder Young Master Si is so fascinated by you..." Ogi Ruisheng laughed heartily and continued, "I am here today regarding your divorce from Young Master Si! This is something Miss Xia should be aware of!"
"Is that really the case? Is it just to finalize our divorce?" Xinran glanced skeptically at Mu Shaosi before shifting her gaze back to Ogi Ruisheng.
"Of course! This is the divorce agreement; Miss Xia can take a look!" Saying this, Ogi Ruisheng took a formal agreement out of his briefcase and handed it to Xinran.
Taking the agreement, Xinran carefully flipped through the pages. On the last page was Mu Shaosi's signature from three months ago. It seemed he really intended to divorce her. This was indeed a simple divorce agreement without anything special about it. She felt confused—had she really overthought things? Did Mu Shaosi actually want her to leave quickly?
"So, Lawyer Ogi, if I sign my name here, I will completely sever ties with Mu Shaosi and will no longer have any involvement with him?" Xinran hesitated as she took the pen from Ogi Ruisheng and asked again.
Ogi Ruisheng merely smiled and remained silent, looking at Xinran with a calm expression.
After a moment of silence, Xinran bit her lip and made up her mind. Finally, she picked up the pen and wrote her name in the signature field...
"Miss Xia, from the moment you signed your name, the divorce agreement officially takes effect. However, since you and Young Master Si still have a three-month Marriage Contract, in order for this divorce to be valid, you must fulfill the prior agreement made between you and Young Master Si!"
"Agreement?" Xinran asked in confusion. "What agreement? Is there something in the original contract that I don't know about? Isn't it just that we will divorce after three months and no longer entangle ourselves?"
"Miss Xia, I have brought a copy of the contract. Why don't you take a look for yourself?" Ogi Ruisheng solemnly placed the signed divorce agreement into his briefcase and then took out several pages to hand to Xinran.
Clearly, the terms were the same as those in the contract she had signed last time, even her name was in her own handwriting with no signs of forgery. But what did the clause stating 'must be pregnant within three months; upon giving birth to an heir for Party A, the contract will become void. If Party B fails to become pregnant within three months, they must continue to fulfill their obligation to bear children until an heir is born for Party A' mean? When did this come up?
Holding tightly onto the copy of the contract, Xinran bit her lip and looked up at Mu Shaosi, who was just a few steps away. His face wore an infuriating smile. Could it be understood that she had once again foolishly walked into a trap he had set for her? From his expression, it was clear he had everything prepared long ago, just waiting for today—three months later—to see her get played once more...
To have her bear children and give him an heir; was this game more entertaining than their three-month marriage?
"Lawyer Ogi, could you clarify something for me?" she spoke coldly, her eyes filled with an indescribable sadness.
"Miss Xia, please go ahead!"
"If I breach the contract, what kind of price will I have to pay?"
"That depends on what kind of compensation Young Master Si demands. I will draft a compensation Contract accordingly for both parties to sign once an agreement is reached," Ogi Ruisheng replied after glancing back at his friend.
"Mu Shaosi, tell me what it would take for us to completely sever ties and have nothing to do with each other again?" Xinran restrained her anger and stepped in front of Mu Shaosi, asking bitterly.
"Wife, haven't I already said? If you want a divorce, it can only happen if you bear me a child. Otherwise, we can’t discuss anything!" Mu Shaosi raised his hand gently smoothing down Xinran's somewhat disheveled hair.
Having a child was merely part of his plan to keep her entangled with him for life; he would not let her go so easily. Since deep feelings couldn't keep her by his side, he would resort to less honorable means. But it didn't matter; all he wanted was for her to stay by him as his beloved wife!
“Mu Shaosi, is it fun? You know I'm a celebrity. Why did you choose me to play a game about having children?” Xinran slapped Mu Shaosi's hand away, her anger evident.
Mu Shaosi smiled innocently. This little woman's thoughts were truly interesting. Who was he, Mu Shaosi? Was it really difficult to have a woman bear his heir? He believed that without needing to say much, women would come to him willingly. However, unfortunately, he had a cleanliness obsession when it came to emotions. She had accidentally intruded into his heart, so the matter of having children had to be completed by her and him. Whether it was a game or a task, she couldn't escape...
“Silly girl, celebrities also need to get married and have children!” Takahashi Ryu, who had been watching the show unfold and forgotten to eat breakfast, chimed in as he noticed the milk in his cup had already gone cold.
“Grandpa has already answered you...” Mu Shaosi leaned forward slightly, holding Xinran's shoulders with both hands. He leaned close to her ear and whispered, “However, for now, I haven't had enough of our two-person world, so I don't want an heir reporting in just yet. Therefore, we can only continue maintaining our husband-and-wife relationship. When we are intimate in the future, I must take precautions to avoid any accidents. God knows how much I want to be close to you without any barriers...”
“You...” Xinran was furious. She broke free from Mu Shaosi and turned to leave, slamming the door behind her as she returned to her room.
“Good boy, you've finally done something that satisfies me!” Takahashi Ryu exclaimed happily when he saw Xinran rush back into the bedroom. Now Xinran really couldn't escape.
“I've already said that if she wants to leave, she needs to have the ability to do so...” Mu Shaosi looked at his grandfather and smiled casually before turning to Ogi Ruisheng and saying, “Ogi, thank you!”
“No need for politeness among friends,” Ogi Ruisheng replied with a smile as he sat down and picked up the knife and fork brought by Huang Ma. “You really are going to treat me to a meal. I rushed over here without having eaten anything properly!”
“Eat as much as you like; it's just a meal. You've done me a huge favor by helping me keep my runaway wife. Whatever request you have, I, Mu Shaosi, will fulfill without hesitation!”
“I know that Young Master Si is the most loyal person. However, you should also pamper Xinran a bit; women need love and care. It seems you've really angered her this time! Be careful; if she takes too long to forgive you, you'll suffer too!”
“As long as I can keep her here, everything will have a chance for change!” After hearing Ogi Ruisheng's words, Mu Shaosi took a sip of black coffee and pondered thoughtfully.
