Everything felt like a dream. One day, when Xinran opened her eyes and sat up from her warm bed, she realized that she had become a wife, married to Mu Shaosi.
The wedding was not extravagantly arranged; it did not even attract anyone's attention, including her father. Only Jerry and Wujie were present—one was her witness and the other was her little bridesmaid. In the quiet church, she wore a globally limited edition white wedding dress, while Mu Shaosi donned a handmade white suit. As he held her hand and slowly walked toward the pastor, she suddenly felt tears welling up. This scene was as beautiful as a fairy tale; she was fortunate to be the princess held tightly by her prince, stepping into a future of happiness...
In that moment, she did not think about the fact that their marriage had a three-month expiration date, nor did she ponder how genuine Mu Shaosi's feelings for her were or whether he had easily promised to marry her. She was simply lost in that moment—just that moment!
Regarding their secret marriage, Xinran had no objections. After all, she was somewhat of a public figure. If she announced her marriage publicly and held a grand ceremony, it would mean that she would be chased by paparazzi with no place to hide. Moreover, her relationship with Augus would be dug up for everyone to scrutinize. Although their relationship was fake, it seemed to have ended rather abruptly. The public, especially Augus's fans, did not know they had already broken up. If fans discovered that she had moved on and even married someone else—especially if they found out it was Augus's brother—then while some might secretly laugh, others could very well attack her. Given Augus's intense popularity and influence, she could easily become a target of public scorn.
She thought Mu Shaosi probably also wanted to keep their marriage under wraps, so this secret wedding with fewer than ten attendees suited Xinran perfectly.
"You're awake so early? It seems I didn't wear you out last night," Mu Shaosi said as he wrapped his arms around Xinran from behind, resting his chin on her fair shoulder. He continued in a low voice, "Your pleas for mercy were just meant to confuse me... but I foolishly believed you!"
Hearing the man's seemingly accusatory whispers behind her made Xinran's face turn crimson as memories of last night flooded back. His intensity had almost brought her to tears; he had buried himself in her body and claimed he would keep her in bed for days. She had no choice but to plead for mercy from him. She should have anticipated his prowess; after all, on their first night together, he had nearly exhausted her, and the next day he dragged her back to bed again...
She wondered how long this man had been abstinent; it seemed he intended to unleash all his desires on her. Now she deeply regretted not having the lawyer add a few clauses to their contract and instead agreeing to fulfill the conditions of a normal married life. This man was anything but normal!
"Stop talking... We still have a meeting at the company today; we should get up!" Xinran wished she could pull the thin blanket over her face but found that his hand had already slipped under it and rested on her chest.
"It doesn't matter whether we have the meeting or not; as your husband, I must love you well!" Mu Shaosi chuckled softly and kissed Xinran's rosy cheek. Her snow-white skin always captivated him; even without makeup in the morning, her face remained beautiful and pure like a lotus.
"Please... don't," Xinran dodged Mu Shaosi's lips but couldn't escape his embrace. She could only continue pleading, "How about you let me off today and I promise to satisfy you tonight?"
"Good, that's exactly what I've been waiting to hear!" Mu Shaosi pecked Xinran's lips, then pulled back the covers and got out of bed, standing naked in front of Xinran as he calmly put on his clothes.
"Where are you going today? Do you have work?" Mu Shaosi asked as he buttoned up his shirt, turning back to face her.
"No, but I need to meet Shaoyang," Xinran replied, still tightly clutching the blanket.
"Is there something going on?" Mu Shaosi raised an eyebrow and asked.
"Yes, we need to discuss how to announce our breakup since I'm already married to you now..."
"Alright, I'll send a driver to pick you up later," Mu Shaosi said as he walked out of the bedroom, a faint smile appearing on his face as he turned away from Xinran.
