“Mu Shaosi, let go of me, let go of me!” Xinran struggled wildly. She felt like her life was a play, chaotic yet fresh, with endless surprises every day. If this continued, she would surely go crazy.
“Do you want me to let you go?” Mu Shaosi paused, lifting Xinran higher, pretending to drop her.
“Don’t…” Xinran quickly wrapped her arms around Mu Shaosi's neck. What a joke! She wanted him to put her down, not throw her down. No matter how sturdy she was, she didn’t want to be thrown to the ground.
“You said not to, so I won’t let you go!” A smile appeared at the corner of Mu Shaosi's mouth. He liked how this woman actively leaned towards him, like now, holding onto his neck.
Xinran sensed the deeper meaning in Mu Shaosi's words but didn’t respond because she didn’t know how to continue. His sudden appearance had already shocked her enough; before she could fully regain her composure, he had whisked her away from the room. What reaction could she have?
Moments later, Mu Shaosi carried Xinran out of the hotel and shoved her into the car parked at the entrance before sitting down beside her. After closing the car door, Mu Shaosi turned his face to look at Xinran, who was pressed against the other window. Did she think this would create distance between them? What a lovely woman!
“Come here!” Mu Shaosi said straightforwardly.
Xinran turned her head and glanced at Mu Shaosi, who raised a hand. Her face showed hesitation. She wasn’t foolish; she knew she was already in the car. There was no point in continuing to resist him. However, letting him think she was obedient made her feel unwilling!
“Where are you taking me?” Xinran asked with a cold expression.
“To get married legally!” Mu Shaosi kept his hand raised, waiting for Xinran to decide whether to come into his embrace.
In truth, he already knew everything about her clearly and hadn’t missed any details. Plus, since she had suddenly fled with a gunshot wound, how could he allow her to drift further away from him? He had known about Xia Sheng Group while she was still on the plane. He waited for this woman to come to him for help because among those who could assist her family, only he and Shaoyang had that capability. But he believed that without his approval, Shaoyang would never act; he wouldn’t allow it either.
However, he still underestimated her. This woman was willing to exchange her body for shares, yet she did not think to come and ask him. He pondered whether she truly did not know that his strength was enough to buy out several Xia Sheng Groups, or if she was stubbornly clinging to her pride. The latter seemed more likely; she had always been a smart woman, and it made no sense for her not to see through his desire for her.
"Are you joking?" Xinran asked, her eyes wide in disbelief.
"Do I look like I'm joking?" Mu Shaosi leaned in and pulled Xinran into his embrace, his hands firmly gripping her waist. His patience was limited; if she wouldn't come to him willingly, he would pull her closer himself. It seemed this woman still needed some education, a lesson to understand that anything or anyone belonging to Mu Shaosi could never escape his grasp.
"So, you were just in the room..." Xinran hesitated to ask, an ominous feeling washing over her.
"That's right. In Japan, you are already considered my legal wife. After you were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, I had someone take care of our marriage certificate without telling you!" Mu Shaosi kissed the top of Xinran's head. Initially, he had not known about this either. The day she left, he had been drowning his sorrows at Ires until Mukai Saki appeared with the marriage certificate. His mood improved somewhat with this connection; there was no way she could sever ties with him now. He hadn't expected her impulsiveness would align perfectly with his wishes, but he had no intention of informing Xinran because he knew she wouldn't stay in Japan permanently. He planned to marry her again, but this woman was too clever; even a small clue would lead her to the truth.
"Mu Shaosi, are you insane? You want me to marry you but don't let me know? What am I then? Your legal wife? I see it as nothing but a joke!" Xinran forcefully pried Mu Shaosi's hands away and moved to the other side, tightly crossing her arms. She felt so cold; why did it seem that whenever Mu Shaosi appeared, she was forever trapped in a drama? Was her life always going to be a deception?
"Whether you knew it early or late, you know now!" Mu Shaosi frowned slightly. "If you're upset that I didn't tell you beforehand, I can marry you again. In fact, I've always intended to do so!"
"No need! I don't want to marry you!" Xinran firmly rejected.
"I'm not trying to force you," Mu Shaosi said, his expression changing due to Xinran's outright refusal. He disliked her disobedience even more than her rejection.
"Stop the car! I want to get out!"
"Summer, weren't you just in the room wanting to sleep with that man to exchange for shares of Xia Sheng Group? If you marry me, you can regain Xia Sheng Group. I can make you the largest shareholder in no time if you just agree!" Mu Shaosi watched as Xinran continued pushing against the car door. He wasn't worried about her leaving the car; the central locking had already secured the doors. He only cared that she would agree to marry him; he was determined to have her!
"Mu Shaosi, what do you think your actions are? How is this any different from Qi Shaokai? It's all equally shameless!" Xinran sadly stopped pushing against the door and murmured.
