"She doesn't have any major issues, just some scrapes on her forehead and ankle. I've already treated her wounds, and she can leave after a bit of rest!"
"Thank you, Nurse," Qi Shaokai politely thanked the nurse.
"It's my duty!" The young nurse smiled and turned to Xinran, saying, "You are Summer, right? I really like you! Could you please give me your autograph?"
Xinran, who had been staring out the window, turned her head in surprise and replied lightly, "Sure!"
The nurse excitedly pulled out a piece of medical record paper from her folder and handed it to Xinran, watching as she confidently signed her name on it.
"I wonder when the movie 'Diamond Absolute Love' that you shot with Augus will be released? I'm really looking forward to it! By the way, isn't Augus your boyfriend? Why did he bring you to the hospital?" The nurse asked curiously, glancing at Qi Shaokai with a hint of gossip.
"Nurse, please don't misunderstand. I'm just the one who caused the accident and brought her to the hospital!" Qi Shaokai elegantly pushed up his glasses and said with a smile.
Xinran observed coldly; it seemed everyone was so concerned about her relationship with Augus. If she announced their breakup, would people cheer or lament? She guessed more would cheer since when their relationship was first made public, there was such a huge reaction. People said Augus was too good for her, like a flower among a pile of dung. Now she truly wanted to remove that flower as soon as possible and have no further ties with him!
"How do you feel? Does the wound hurt?"
Xinran turned her face away and realized the nurse had left without her noticing. She glanced at Qi Shaokai and then turned back, ignoring his presence.
"It seems you have some inexplicable hostility towards me. May I ask why?" Qi Shaokai asked again without giving up. This woman was truly cold towards him. Since he almost hit her until now, he had spoken countless words to her, but she had only responded a few times, and none were friendly. If he couldn't see something strange about this situation, he would be quite oblivious!
"You think too much. We just met, why would I have any hostility towards you?" Xinran replied coldly, crossing her arms.
"Maybe the one you have hostility towards isn't me, but Wen Jing?" Qi Shaokai chuckled as he sat on the edge of the hospital bed that Xinran was leaning against.
"I and Xia Wenjing are nothing more than ordinary acquaintances, not even friends. If you think we aren't close, that's fine, but saying that I hate her is really ridiculous!"
"Alright, I'll take your word for it. So where are you headed next? Home? Do I have the honor of escorting a beautiful lady home?"
"No need for that. I can just call my manager. Thank you for your concern, but you can leave now!" Xinran lightly jumped off the bed, picked up her bag from the bedside table, and ignored Qi Shaokai as she walked out of the ward.
Still in the ward, Qi Shaokai watched her slowly walk to the door, a strange smile curling at the corners of his mouth. Perhaps using her could help him achieve his goal faster!
After leaving the ward, Xinran felt relieved that Qi Shaokai didn't chase after her. She didn't want to have any entanglements with him; partly because he was Xia Wenjing's golden ticket, and partly because even just being brought to the hospital by him could lead to misunderstandings. If she had any further contact with him and was followed by paparazzi, she would be restless again!
"Jerry, can you come pick me up from the hospital?" After dialing Jerry's number and hearing his familiar voice, Xinran felt a sense of comfort. He was the only one she dared to trust without reservation; he wouldn't deceive her or have any ulterior motives.
"Summer, what happened? Why are you in the hospital?"
"Don't worry, I'm fine. I just got brushed by a car and have a little scrape..."
"You always are so careless! Which hospital are you in? I'll come get you right away!"
"I'm at Jinchi Hospital. Don't rush; I'll just wait for you in the garden!"
"Good!"
