Two days later, under the arrangement of Augus's agent Hoshia, Xinran attended a press conference with him as his official girlfriend, publicly announcing their relationship and putting an end to the rumors that had been swirling around them a few days prior. Throughout the press conference, the paparazzi bombarded them with sharp and gossipy questions, but Augus clearly handled the situation well, responding with a smile. His answers were vague enough that while he addressed the questions posed, it was impossible to tell whether he truly answered them or not.
Xinran was only responsible for sitting quietly as a backdrop; Hoshia had instructed her to speak less and smile more, as Augus was the star of the show. She had never seen such a grand occasion before; the paparazzi nearly squeezed two people onto one chair, unwilling to miss this press conference. It was rare to get any gossip about Augus, let alone a 'real' confirmation from him.
The day after the press conference, Xinran was forcibly taken by Augus to the airport to see the superstar off for a commercial shoot in Paris. The airport was bustling with people, including reporters and fans who screamed excitedly upon seeing their idol. Under the escort of security and bodyguards, Augus, wearing dark sunglasses, held Xinran's hand tightly as they walked toward the boarding gate, appearing very intimate.
"Summer, I'm about to board. Remember to pick me up when I come back!" Augus lightly brushed his finger against Xinran's cute nose in a very affectionate manner.
"My dear, I will miss you these few days."
"Be good; I will call you. If I can't hear your voice, I'll feel lonely too." As he spoke, Augus pointed to his cheek and raised an eyebrow at Xinran.
Xinran's face flushed with shyness. She stood on her tiptoes and gently pecked his cheek before leaning close to his ear and whispering, "So, how was my acting? Was it convincing?"
"I've said it before; your acting is really good. You almost fooled me," he murmured back in her ear.
"I'm honored!"
"It's my keen eye for talent. Don't forget to adapt if he shows up!"
"Don't worry; I won't mess up your love life..." After saying this, Xinran smiled at Augus and turned to leave.
Watching Xinran walk away, Augus murmured her last words to himself and suddenly understood their meaning. It turned out that this woman had taken his mention of 'that person' as his lover and assumed that he, Augus, was gay. In that moment, he finally realized why she had looked so surprised that day; indeed, the game was becoming more interesting.
There was also a stack of photos of him and her sleeping together, which he had his assistant send to the President's office of Qingtian Group, accompanied by a message: "Big Brother, I have found my other half in life. When will I hear good news from you?"
He believed that Big Brother would take action soon, and he would be waiting for this good news in Paris! —
After leaving the airport, Xinran strolled leisurely down the street, her large sunglasses covering half of her face, a sports cap pulled low over her head, and dressed in comfortable athletic wear. She had made ample preparations to escape the pursuit of paparazzi; after all, thanks to Augus, she was now somewhat of a celebrity.
At that moment, a black Mercedes-Benz SUV sped toward her and suddenly stopped just as it was about to reach Xinran.
Xinran was somewhat surprised and froze in place. Initially thinking it was paparazzi, she quickly guessed who it was upon seeing the luxurious vehicle. She hadn't expected them to arrive so quickly; Augus had just boarded the plane.
The car door opened, and a man dressed entirely in black with a serious expression stepped out from the passenger seat. He approached Xinran, slightly bent forward, bowed, and then spoke in somewhat halting Mandarin: "Miss Xia, my young master requests your presence in the car for a discussion."
Following the direction indicated by the man's arm, Xinran vaguely saw a short-haired man sitting in the back seat of the SUV. She nodded to the man in front of her and turned to walk toward the car.
