"Father, get away!" Xuan Li was pushed aside by Fallen Heart before he even understood what was happening.
Overwhelmed by grief, Jinse's demonic nature finally triggered the call of her ancestors. This was Jinse's true descent into madness. No one knew how a human transformed into a demon; only Fallen Heart, as the Demon Child, understood the pain of tearing apart! The agony within her heart and body was so intense that it felt like everything would be ripped apart!
Fallen Heart held Jinse tightly. "Mother, please wake up!"
Jinse was completely unaware, not realizing that her hands were tightly locked around her son's neck. A fierce wind howled around them, and a bolt of lightning struck down.
"Jinse, Fallen Heart." Xuan Li rushed into the storm and saw his wife and son both collapsed on the ground.
Jinse's breath was faint, and Fallen Heart had already lost his breath.
It turned out that when Jinse fell into madness, if her heart pulse wasn't protected, she would self-destruct. For the sake of her mother...
At that moment, a small green snake slithered out from Jinse's mouth, heading straight for Xuan Li's vacant eyes.
"Snake."
The green snake ignored Xuan Li and moved towards Fallen Heart's body.
"Son." Xuan Li shielded his son's corpse, confronting the green snake.
"What happened?" Mel approached and saw large tears streaming from Bixie's eyes, dropping onto the sand and evaporating immediately.
"Azure Sky, why are you crying?" Bixie shouted hoarsely as a shadowy figure in blue lunged onto Bixie's body amidst a wisp of smoke.
"Brother, Fallen Heart is dead."
"You have transformed."
"So what? Fallen Heart is dead."
Jinse has fallen into darkness, personally killing her own son.
"What happened to the Emperor?" Mel sighed, realizing how terrifying the demon race was.
"He was scared unconscious." Azure Sky suddenly stopped crying upon seeing the frowning Deity of Heaven. "Emperor, please save Fallen Heart."
"I..." I was hoping both he and his father would die, so that there would be no obstacles between me and Fengxian.
"Emperor, I'm begging you. It's too late to return to the demon realm now; only you can save Fallen Heart." Azure Sky knelt before Deity of Heaven. "If you don't save Fallen Heart, Yingyue will surely be heartbroken when she wakes up."
"Why should I save him?" Deity of Heaven shook his head, as saving this child brought him no benefit. "Fine, I'll save him. When Fengxian wakes up, let her come to the heavenly realm to find us." Deity of Heaven took Fallen Heart away.
In the afternoon, Xuan Li had already woken up and heard from Mel that Fallen Heart had been taken away by Deity of Heaven.
"Your Majesty, this is the Underworld Palace."
"Have we arrived? What happened to Jinse?" Xuan Li stood up, looking at Mel, who seemed hesitant to speak. "Just tell me, what happened to Jinse?"
"Jinse didn't say anything; she has returned." As Mel spoke, the voice of Jinse could be heard from outside the door.
"Come in." Xuan Li gently looked at Jinse, who had pushed the door open and entered.
What is happening?
Xuan Li felt a moment of daze, as if the old Jinse had returned, as if she had never left, never gone to the Demon Realm, still the same reserved and innocent Jinse.
"Your Majesty, I made some porridge for you." Mel shyly pushed the door open and left.
"Jinse," Xuan Li couldn't help but call out.
"It's a bit hot." Jinse placed the porridge on the table, her hands pinching her earlobes, looking as adorable and innocent as ever. "I want to feed you."
Xuan Li nodded and lay back on the bed. Jinse sat by the bedside, picking up the Porcelain Bowl.
"Xuan Li, eat."
"Mm."
"Is it good?"
"Mm."
Jinse bit her lower lip, wishing she could live like this with Xuan Li every day; just this simple thought.
Watching Xuan Li finish the porridge, Jinse set the bowl aside. "Do you want me to get another bowl, or should I put this one away?" Jinse softly asked.
"What's wrong?" Xuan Li sighed softly, "Let me hold you." Jinse turned around and embraced Xuan Li's waist, saying, "I miss you so much."
"Really?" Xuan Li held on tighter.
"Really."
"I want you."
"I want you," Xuan Li said hoarsely, "right now."
After their tender moments, Xuan Li held Jinse and fell asleep.
As dawn broke and the air remained slightly cool, Jinse left. After Jinse departed, Xuan Li opened his eyes.
Would he bring Fallen Heart back? Or would he hope for them to return to his side?
Jinse left the Western Abyss and arrived in the Heavenly Realm. The Deity of Heaven was engaged in a fierce battle with Fallen Heart. Upon seeing Jinse, he turned and said, "I quite like this kid." Years ago, just a single meeting had left Fengxian mesmerized, and now he showed such a gentle smile towards her. Jinse finally understood why people needed to forget their past lives; living with so many memories was such a painful experience. He dared not meet the Deity of Heaven's eyes directly and said, "Thank you for saving Fallen Heart."
"I already consider him my own son. From now on, we will live here and be very happy."
"Emperor." Yingyue took a long time to regain her voice; when did the Deity of Heaven become so gentle?
"Fengxian, your son is nothing like you." The Deity of Heaven held Fallen Heart, who seemed quite unconvinced. However, it was clear that Fallen Heart's attitude toward him had improved significantly; it appeared that the Deity of Heaven treated Fallen Heart very well.
"Emperor, I..." Perhaps because Murong Fengxian felt too humble in front of the Deity of Heaven, Jinse also felt a bit at a loss.
"Perhaps I should call you by your new name, Yingyue?" Deity of Heaven approached while holding Fallen Heart.
"Mom," Fallen Heart, though small, was still just a child.
"Come here." Jinse hugged Fallen Heart, while Deity of Heaven stood beside them with a smile, resembling a warm and happy family. "But," perhaps encouraged by her son, Jinse finally found her voice, "Emperor, won't Goddess blame us for the disruption of the balance in the Three Realms?"
"Silly Yingyue, did you see your grandfather worried? Over the years, we have pondered Goddess's intentions; how could I not understand these matters?"
Jinse blushed; this man held the same status as her grandfather, and she had forgotten this point due to his admiration from ten thousand years ago.
"I can't even tell who I am anymore," Jinse said with a hint of embarrassment.
"I can help you erase your memories of that person right now," Deity of Heaven said bitterly, pulling Jinse closer. "Close your eyes, and from now on, there will only be me in your memories."
"No!" Fallen Heart placed his small hand in front, determined that even a fun uncle couldn't bully his mother. Although his father was quite lacking...
"Emperor, thank you for saving my son. I will do my best to fulfill any request you have. Fallen Heart, say thank you to your uncle."
"Yingyue, I told you, I already consider him my own son."
"Thank you for saving me; I will save you in the future," Fallen Heart turned to look at his mother. "What about Azure Sky?"
"Oh, because I fell into darkness, Azure Sky can leave me now; I didn't bring her with me."
"Then let's go back to find her," Fallen Heart said boldly. "In a few years, I can marry her."
"You little rascal, what do you know?" Jinse said weakly.
"Haha, alright, you can marry her now. That Dragon Princess is already several hundred years old."
"Is it that far off?" Jinse was surprised and found it hard to accept that his future daughter-in-law was so much older than him.
"What does it matter? Yingyue, I just discovered how interesting you are," the Deity of Heaven said happily. He was really glad to be with Jinse. "You can propose in the East Sea, but you can't go back to that man. That's our agreement; I saved our son based on that promise."
Our son?!
"As for matters of the heart..."
"You bad uncle, you're so lame! Using this method to keep my mother by your side," Fallen Heart said disdainfully, making the Deity of Heaven feel quite embarrassed. Wasn't this the right thing to do?
"You should ask my mother who she truly loves. Who does she want to be with?"
"This?" The Deity of Heaven was a bit confused. Fengxian definitely liked him and was willing to be with him. There was no need to ask about that, right?
"Then who do you want to be with, Yingyue?" the Deity of Heaven asked with a furrowed brow.
"Emperor, I..." The Deity of Heaven's politeness made Jinse feel awkward. "I-I-I will definitely repay you."
"But I'm asking who you want to be with?" The Deity of Heaven's frown deepened; he felt completely at a loss when it came to matters of the heart for the first time.
"I want to fulfill Xuan Li's wish and save the mortal realm," Jinse said softly, but before he could finish, he was interrupted by the Deity of Heaven, "So it's just that? Then you should go."
Is he really such a simple man?
So the next day, Jinse brought Fallen Heart back.
The one who looked the happiest was Azure Sky. Although she was not satisfied with the result of the transformation, which turned out to be a little girl, seeing Fallen Heart return safely made Azure Sky rush over without a second thought. "Fallen Heart, you little brat! Godmother thought you were dead!"
Everyone was speechless.
"Yingyue is here, right?" After being absent for so long, Fusang appeared before everyone when Yingyue showed up. Bixie couldn't contain his impatience and wanted to rush over. "We had to wait so long for you." Seeing Bixie's whiskers bristle, Water Consort quickly tried to calm him down. "Easy now, easy now, Bixie!" Bixie shouted in a rough voice, "Easy? Do you think I'm a pet?" Water Consort looked extremely aggrieved. "I have been very gentle with my mount."
"You actually only see me as a mount." Without caring about fighting with Fusang anymore, Bixie wagged his tail and flew away.
"Hey!" Water Consort was dumbfounded. This was the first time Bixie had left without him; what on earth was wrong with this silly dragon?
Fusang finally managed to organize War Soul and heard that Witch of the Moon had returned, so he hurried out. There was no choice; after all, the ruler of the demon realm was a workaholic. As soon as he came out, he was stunned. "Cold Heart? What are you doing here?" They usually kept to themselves; it was unusual for her to suddenly appear looking so eager.
"I never noticed before that we look quite alike."
"How long have you been human? You've always looked like that little doll." After all, they were neighbors. "This is my first time seeing your human form; it resembles how I looked when I was younger."
"Ling Tian," Murong held Cold Heart's arm.
