"Not going? Then where are we going?"
"Hurry up and find a place to hide," Ying Wuxie muttered to himself as he walked.
After saying that, he truly transformed into a gentle breeze, dispersing into the world.
"Young Master, Young Master!!! The Young Mistress is here!!!" Startling's shout awakened the entire sleeping Yingyue Villa.
The Young Mistress!!!
Even a small blade of grass in Yingyue Villa stirred. The Young Mistress?! A number of translucent misty figures rose up, as if they had a spirit of their own, all watching for the Young Mistress mentioned by Startling.
The large door of Yingyue Villa opened, and two figures walked in.
There were two; which one was the Young Mistress?! Was it the male or the female?!
Jinse Fengyin and Seven Nights, who were chatting in the hall, couldn't help but get up and head towards the door.
Upon seeing the newcomers, Jinse quickly turned around.
He muttered to himself, "Hurry up, find a place to hide."
These two father and daughter really are cut from the same cloth!
"Jinse." A voice called out, causing Jinse to stop in his tracks. Oh no! He had been discovered.
It turned out that the Young Mistress mentioned by Startling was actually her. But besides her, who else could it be? But how did she end up here?
It was one thing for her to be here; how could he also be here?
Jinse had a small biitter face and slightly bowed to pay her respects.
"Your servant greets the Sovereign, long live My Emperor." She then softly called out, "Mother."
"There's no need for that." Xuan Li reached out to help Jinse up, noticing that she had lost quite a bit of weight.
"Fengyin greets Your Majesty. Greetings to my aunt."
"Your Majesty." Seven Nights also clasped his fists. Ying Wuxie was quite inconsiderate for slipping away.
"Emperor. Young Mistress, please have some tea first. I will go find the young master." Startling smiled with a cute expression.
Song Yun remained silent, merely nodding slightly. Once Startling left, she lowered her head and spoke to Xuan Li, "My Emperor, I apologize for the embarrassment."
Though already in middle age, Song Yun still possessed an elegant charm, especially with her scholarly demeanor and that open-minded, transparent quality.
Indeed, the first female official of the Xuan Dynasty was extraordinary; no wonder Jinse felt proud.
"Your Majesty, tea." Jinse knelt on the ground, holding a tea tray with a cup of Clear Tea.
"Mm." Xuan Li seemed to be in good spirits as he smiled and took the tea cup. He glanced at Jinse lightly before lowering his eyes to drink.
"Mother, tea." Jinse lowered her head to serve tea to her mother.
"Mm, you may rise." Song Yun took a sip of tea while looking at her daughter with a smile on her face.
The atmosphere among the rulers and subjects was filled with spring-like warmth. Seeing Xuan Li's gentle smile made Jinse's heart flutter uncontrollably.
Why did my father seem different from my memories? Why did I feel different from my memories? Why was Xuan Li's name so deeply etched in my mind?
Jinse lowered her gaze, feeling both excited and heavy-hearted.
"Have you found your father?" Xuan Li put down the teacup, gently waving the folding fan in his hand, and asked softly.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Jinse replied, not daring to breathe too loudly; her heart was racing in her chest.
Song Yun showed no particular expression on her face, merely nodding slightly. She looked at her daughter as if nothing was amiss before lowering her head to savor her tea again.
"This daughter has grown up and cannot be managed at home anymore, can she?" Song Yun set down her teacup and spoke casually.
Jinse shook her head vigorously, insisting that she was still the obedient girl.
"That's not true; my daughter will let Mother make all the decisions," Jinse said with lowered eyes and a compliant demeanor.
Xuan Li scoffed at this; he had no expectations for her to show any growth.
"Call your father out; he should know about your lifelong matters," Song Yun glanced at Xuan Li. After receiving a slight nod from him, she continued, "I have already discussed this with the relatives at home and have seen the Emperor's sincerity, so I have allowed you to enter the palace." With that, she couldn't help but smile slightly. Xuan Li coming in person showed his dedication to Jinse. Moreover, Xuan Li was a child she had watched grow up, raised by her elder sister, so she no longer opposed it. The Great Xuan Empire needed an Empress Mother who could embody grace and virtue.
Seeing Jinse's dazed expression, Xuan Li couldn't help but chuckle softly. This girl was still as foolish as ever; how could she embody grace and virtue?
Jinse's heart raced violently; she... they, Xuan Li!
But her heart... no longer belonged entirely to him.
She couldn't help but feel tears welling up; seeing their smiles made her unable to hold back her cries.
She didn't even know whether she was happy or sad.
Xuan Li gently embraced Jinse, saying softly, "Don't cry." Yet she cried even harder.
She was so happy that it felt like she might go crazy! Her heart ached as if it were breaking!
"Uh, I still showed up." Ying Wuxie glanced at the large door in front of him and stepped in with a determined expression.
"Hehe..." Ying Wuxie, dressed in black, wore a beautiful smile that seemed forced.
"Dad." Upon seeing Ying Wuxie, Jinse's heart waged another internal battle.
Looking at his daughter, who appeared to be in tears, he sighed... he really had brought trouble upon his own daughter.
He walked over to Song Yun. "Um... Hehe."
Song Yun glanced at Ying Wuxie and smiled gently, "You're still the same."
Ying Wuxie awkwardly smiled back and nodded at Xuan Li.
Is that Jinse's father?!
Xuan Li looked at Jinse with affectionate eyes, as if asking, "Jinse, is this really your dad?"
"Yeah." Looking into those deep eyes, Jinse nodded while trying to hold back her tears.
Xuan Li reached out to wipe away Jinse's tears and then smiled as he called out, "Master Ying."
Seeing Xuan Li and Jinse together, Ying Wuxie once again felt the thought of bringing trouble to his own daughter.
"I must help my daughter break free from this predicament," Ying Wuxie resolved in his heart.
While the parents were discussing marriage matters inside the house, Jinse pulled Fengyin back into the room and closed the door.
"What should we do? I..." Jinse bit her lip. "Fengyin, can you understand how I feel?"
Fengyin shook her head. "Maybe Young Master Mei can."
"Young Master Mei?!" Jinse's eyes widened. "Yes, Mel and I share the same plight."
"I, I, I... I... Xuan Li, I..." Jinse paced around the room, incoherent.
"You love him," Fengyin said gently.
"Isn't that obvious? Since I was ten years old, I..." Jinse bit her lip and didn't continue.
"I'm sorry, Xuan Li!" Jinse clenched her fists, biting her lower lip.
"It’s not your fault." It's that troublesome father of yours who keeps causing trouble.
"I'm so happy yet so miserable; I want to cut myself in half!" Jinse shook her head, feeling listless.
"Then why don't you go to the palace? Your mother isn't stopping you anymore."
That's a question! But I don't even want to think about it. Jinse lay on the couch, always feeling sleepy during her pregnancy.
Can we think about this later?
