"Is the world of Jianghu really that big? I saw my father once when I was young, and later I found out he lived in Jianghu."
"Once you're in Jianghu, you can only hope to meet again by fate," Fengyin told Jinse.
"Then we will definitely meet. Don't I have a connection with my father?"
Fengyin nodded in agreement.
"Then let's go explore Jianghu together." Jinse's face flushed with excitement.
"Mm-hmm." Fengyin had never ventured into Jianghu either; it felt distant to her.
"Just the two of us? I don't know any martial arts," Jinse asked.
"We'll figure it out later. Let's go back and have a meal first," Fengyin replied.
Then she knelt before the stone statue and bowed her head, taking Jinse with her as they left.
And so, they made a pact to explore Jianghu together.
First, they needed to find Seven Nights and Jinse's father.
Seven Nights would be easy to find, but what did Jinse remember about her father?
They probably would finish this meal and then set off into Jianghu.
As Fengyin and Jinse returned to the other courtyard, they saw Spiritual Incense gently stroking the melancholic Mel, who was basking in the sun. Upon seeing Fengyin, a gentle smile appeared on Mel's face.
"Fengyin, I would like to discuss our marriage," Spiritual Incense said as he released his hand from Mel's shoulder. Seeing Mel fall to the ground, he lifted his leg to kick him, "Ouch!" Mel cried out again.
Spiritual Incense stood there with an unhappy expression on his face as he looked at Fengyin. "Ouch, Fengyin, come help me," Mel extended his hand toward Fengyin.
"Young Master Mei, are you alright?" Fengyin stepped over, pretending to help Mel up.
"Ah!" Mel cried out in a pitiful voice as Spiritual Incense kicked him again. He didn't even have the strength to reach out for help and could only look at Fengyin with pleading eyes.
Fengyin hesitated to help, fearing that another kick from Spiritual Incense would only worsen Mel's injuries. Just then, Hibiscus walked in through the garden gate.
"Someone, quickly help Young Master Mei up," Hibiscus said with a smile, looking at the pitiful Mel on the ground. "Brother Mei, are you feeling any better?"
"A bit better," Mel replied with a smile. "I was just discussing our marriage with Fengyin." Suddenly, Mel was accidentally knocked down again by a servant, and several slaves knelt on the ground in panic.
"Young Master, we didn't mean to."
"Young Master, we know we were wrong."
They trembled like leaves in the wind.
"As long as you know you're wrong, hurry and help Young Master Mei up," Hibiscus waved her hand, resembling a considerate master.
"Brother Jin, you came at the right time; we need to discuss."
"Brother Mei is unwell; the priority now is for him to recover. Don't worry about other matters."
"Brother Jin, I..." Lingxiang Princess kicked again, nearly toppling Mel once more before turning to leave.
"What’s so good about that Fengyin? She infuriates me!!!" Spiritual Incense gritted her teeth. "Damn Mei Er, stinky Mei Er! If I say it again, this princess will hit you so hard your mother won't recognize you." Her voice echoed from afar.
Mel awkwardly smiled. "Brother Jin, please excuse me."
Hibiscus smiled but said nothing.
"Young Master Mei, let me help you back to your room to rest," Fengyin said, feeling pity for Mel who had been bullied by Spiritual Incense.
"Hurry and help Young Master Mei back to his room!" Hibiscus said coldly. The trembling slaves who had just been kneeling immediately rushed to assist Mel back to his room.
For a moment, the wind was gentle and the clouds were still.
"Hehe, I... I'm leaving," Jinse said, unable to find an excuse, and hurried away.
From time to time, she glanced back at Fengyin and Hibiscus, her eyes filled with curiosity.
As if sensing Jinse's inquisitive gaze, Fengyin shot her a glare and waved her small fist. Jinse pouted and finally entered the room, while the two standing in the courtyard did not notice Jinse's dazed eyes spinning behind the window.
"Uh, should I say something or not?" Fengyin looked at Hibiscus with a distressed expression.
Hibiscus furrowed his handsome brows. "Am I not feeding you or mistreating you? You always look like you've been struck by lightning when you see me."
Fengyin widened her big eyes, pondering seriously whether he had indeed not fed her or mistreated her.
Hibiscus gave Fengyin's forehead a light tap, raising an eyebrow. Fengyin didn't mind the tap; instead, she extended her index finger and poked Hibiscus's chest. "You're mistreating me!"
Hibiscus caught her little hand and held it against his chest. "After we finish eating, I'll take you to see something." He then pulled Fengyin out of the West Garden.
Jinse blinked her dazed eyes. When would Xuan Li ever smile at her like that? Her fluttering heart was pounding with only Xuan Li's name!
"Why don't you ask me what I'm going to show you?" Hibiscus raised an eyebrow.
