Rek and Alice hid away, watching from a distance as the Victorious Monkey wreaked havoc, swinging a metal pipe to strike down rows of monsters. They had been observing for over an hour when the Monster Horde finally retreated.
“This is bad, we need to get away from here quickly and not let Victorious Monkey spot us. I wonder if it still remembers us,” Rek said to Alice, quickly getting up and cautiously running away.
However, he was still too slow. The Victorious Monkey turned its gaze towards their hiding spot, and with a leap, it landed right in front of Rek and Alice.
The Victorious Monkey descended from above, causing the ground to tremble and kick up clouds of dust.
It swung the Metal Pipe, aiming to strike at both Rek and Alice.
“Victorious Monkey, don’t you recognize us? We’re not monsters!” Alice shouted at the creature, and she and Rek hurriedly tried to dodge, barely escaping the swing of the Victorious Monkey.
The massive Metal Pipe struck the ground, creating a large crater upon impact.
“You can talk? Who are you? You’ve been lurking around here for a while without revealing yourselves. If you don’t explain yourselves clearly, you’ll die here today,” the Victorious Monkey growled, brandishing the Metal Pipe threateningly.
Hearing this, Alice realized they were in trouble; it seemed that the Victorious Monkey no longer remembered them.
Stepping forward, Rek spoke up: “Victorious Monkey, we are your companions, your allies.”
“Nonsense! I don’t know you at all, and your strength is far too weak to be my companions. I’ll give you one last chance; if you can’t explain yourselves clearly, you’ll die here,” the Victorious Monkey roared, raising the Metal Pipe menacingly at Rek and Alice.
In response, Rek, filled with anger, drew his Demon Blade, readying himself for battle: “Monkey, we come from a future world. That world can be considered your future. In fact, this world you’re in now is one you’ve already experienced; it’s merely a memory in your mind.”
In the future, we entered a space called the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary together. You were transported here, and you must have fallen into a false world of your own memories. Of course, this could also be the real world of your past; the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary might have allowed you to travel back in time. We are here to awaken you and help you get out.
Think carefully, Victorious Monkey. Do you feel that you can foresee the future? You already know many things about what will happen, and since arriving in this world, the future you envisioned should have come true.
Hearing Rek's words, Victorious Monkey put down the Metal Pipe and began to think.
"How can you prove that what you're saying is true? In my world, being able to foresee the future is simply due to the power of my Ability, and it has nothing to do with this world's falsehood or whether it is the past," Victorious Monkey shouted at Rek.
"Monkey, there is a way. I was also transported by the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary to a false or parallel world before. Think back carefully; when you regained your memories, where were you? Were there any important events or people you interacted with in this world?" Rek said.
"My memories have always been clear. I have guarded this time-space entrance for over ten years to prevent the Rakshasa race from invading our divine race," Victorious Monkey proudly stated.
Rek shook his head upon hearing this.
"Victorious Monkey, can you return with us to your divine race? Perhaps there I can find a way to prove it," Rek suggested after some thought.
"Nonsense! As the god of war guarding the Rakshasa entrance, how could I trust your words and leave so easily?" Victorious Monkey exclaimed furiously at Rek, raising the Metal Pipe towards Rek and Alice.
"Are you spies from the Rakshasa race sent to deceive me into leaving, fabricating this ridiculous reason?" Victorious Monkey continued addressing Rek and Alice.
"Monkey, even you admit that this reason is absurd. If we were truly spies, we wouldn't come up with such an explanation; we would definitely think of something more convincing.
Victorious Monkey, let me tell you about the future world and what happened in my world. Let's see if it jogs your memory," Rek said.
"Go ahead! Before the next Monster Horde from the Rakshasa race arrives, if what you say convinces me, I won't kill you," Victorious Monkey replied to Rek and Alice.
Rek, unfazed by Victorious Monkey's threats, spoke up: "In the future world, which is my world, we have already entered another era. Your divine race no longer exists.
You have been in seclusion, seemingly recovering from serious injuries, and your strength has not fully returned.
In my world, this planet is called Earth. The resources on Earth are nearly depleted, and we discovered a time portal that leads to a future Earth.
That future Earth is apocalyptic, filled with radiation and toxic gases. However, there is one good thing: it has numerous untapped mineral resources. We refer to that world as Dark Space.
In Dark Space, human civilization has vanished, and all the monsters are referred to as Alien Species. The Alien Species possess various strengths and abilities, and they are quite powerful." Rek said this while observing Victorious Monkey's reaction.
Victorious Monkey listened intently, showing no strange expressions.
Rek continued: "In our world, you were asleep or in seclusion. It was this little girl beside me, Alice, who awakened you from your slumber. You became Alice's companion; her condition for you was to help you find energy to restore your strength while you assist her in battling the Alien Beings of Dark Space.
We entered a ruin called the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary in Dark Space. Inside the ruins, there was a cave; upon entering that cave, we were separated and transported to our respective worlds.
Alice and I just emerged from our worlds and have now entered yours to find a way to awaken you and bring you back. Victorious Monkey, although this world may seem real, you have definitely experienced it. Stop being entangled with this world and awaken from your memories.
We need to return to our reality to fight against the Alien Species and live a true life." Rek shouted at Victorious Monkey.
Victorious Monkey looked at Rek, baring his teeth as he said: "What you're saying sounds strange, but I have no recollection of it. The world you describe seems false to me; this world I inhabit is real. In this world, I have my own mission and purpose for existence. Without me, the invasion of the Asura race upon the divine race would be a disaster—something that should never happen."
"Monkey, you're still fixated on these things. Perhaps the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary, which transported you to this world, has long wanted to eliminate you. It's precisely because your strength is so great that you've survived for so long.
Victorious Monkey, think carefully. Use your foresight energy—your so-called Ability—feel if there's an impending significant threat about to occur, something very bad that could lead to your demise. I suspect this is why you were gravely injured and went into seclusion; the crisis that caused your injuries is not far from you now," Rek spoke up.
After listening to Rek, Victorious Monkey did not refute this time but fell into deep thought. In recent years, while guarding the entrance of the Rakshasa race's time and space, Victorious Monkey always felt as if a heavy stone was pressing down on his chest. He vaguely sensed that something bad was about to happen, but he forced himself not to think about it, numbing himself through constant battles.
At this moment, Alice stepped forward and spoke, "Victorious Monkey, you once told me that although you didn't go into detail, you mentioned that your retreat was due to an internal conflict among the divine beings.
It was an internal conflict that nearly led to the extinction of the divine race. During this turmoil, although you killed the rebels, you were also severely injured and had to enter a long slumber to recover.
The divine race suffered significant losses during that internal conflict, and you estimate that their eventual downfall was also a consequence of that turmoil. Victorious Monkey, think carefully; you should have memories of the divine race's internal conflict. Don't avoid it any longer. If you can figure out the cause of that internal strife, returning to the divine realm might allow you to extinguish the seeds of discord before they sprout and save your race from future annihilation."
Hearing Alice's words, Victorious Monkey could no longer remain calm. He put down the Metal Pipe in his hands and cradled his head as he began to think.
"Internal conflict, the downfall of the divine race... I seem to have a premonition; I have indeed encountered situations where many members of the divine race perished. But this premonition has always been unclear. If what you are saying is true, I must return to the divine realm and see what exactly happened," Victorious Monkey said aloud.
"Monkey, we will return with you. Even without your guarding this entrance, the Rakshasa race would not be able to invade your divine race's territory for quite some time.
Compared to the survival of your race, this task of guarding against the Rakshasa invasion is nothing but a joke," Rek said.
"Alright, let's go. If you deceive me, I will definitely turn you into meat paste," Victorious Monkey replied before leaping towards the entrance.
Rek and Alice quickly used their Genetic Mechs to jump after him.
Victorious Monkey entered the spatial entrance first, followed closely by Rek and Alice.
When they emerged from the spatial entrance again, Rek and Alice found themselves in a forest filled with fresh air and lush greenery all around.
Rek inhaled the long-lost scent of earth and felt that this world was truly wonderful. The air in Victorious Monkey's world was several times better than that of Earth Prime World; the sky was a brilliant blue, and a gentle breeze brushed against their bodies.
Victorious Monkey pulled out one of his Monkey Hairs, transforming it into another monkey that also held a Metal Pipe. This monkey looked exactly like Victorious Monkey.
The monkey created from the Monkey Hair jumped into the space entrance and re-entered the Rakshasa world.
Victorious Monkey swung the Metal Pipe and drew a circle at the space entrance.
Soon, the space entrance was enveloped in Golden Light.
"I have temporarily sealed this entrance and set up a clone to guard it. With my abilities, as long as no top-tier experts from the Rakshasa come, the clone can hold for a while. I have also placed a seal at the entrance; even if a top-tier expert from the Rakshasa arrives, it will take time to open it, and I will sense it. Let's go to the Divine Clan Palace together," Victorious Monkey said, preparing to take off.
Rek looked eagerly at the monkey, feeling that not being able to fly would greatly diminish his image.
Alice spread the wings of her Genetic Mech, this time intending to grab Rek with both hands and carry him while flying.
"Forget it, I'll take him. Your flying speed is slow enough; carrying this person will only make it slower," Victorious Monkey said as he descended from the air. He raised his left hand, allowing Rek to stand behind him. Rek felt as if he could fly too, staying within a meter of Victorious Monkey without falling.
Victorious Monkey began to fly quickly in the air, also giving Alice a boost.
The strong wind whipped against Rek and Alice, both experiencing such fast flying at high altitude for the first time.
After more than ten minutes, Victorious Monkey brought Rek and Alice down outside a magnificent palace floating in the sky.
Looking at this grand palace suspended among the clouds, Rek realized that this must be the stronghold of the Divine Clan. He couldn't sense any mechanical devices or energy within the palace; it seemed that the era where Victorious Monkey resided utilized a different energy system from an Alien Species for development.
"War God." The guard soldiers saw Victorious Monkey, who was holding a Metal Pipe, descending from above and respectfully bowed to him with genuine reverence.
The Victorious Monkey did not linger and quickly entered the palace with Rek and Alice.
Rek admired the magnificent palace as he followed the Victorious Monkey, making turns until they arrived at a pond.
The Victorious Monkey walked into the pond and reached a Pavilion, where a girl in purple stood.
"War God, why aren't you guarding the entrance to the Rakshasa? What brings you back to the Divine Temple at this time?" the girl asked the Victorious Monkey.
"Has anything unusual happened in the Divine Temple recently?" the War God inquired.
"Do you know something? War God, have you sensed it too?" the girl asked the Victorious Monkey in surprise, glancing at Rek and Alice standing behind him.
"Don't mind them; they are my friends. Now, tell me what you've discovered recently," said the Victorious Monkey.
"Nothing too significant; perhaps I am overthinking. The Divine Temple and Holy Church have recently recalled some of their followers, concentrating their key figures.
War God, since you hold positions in both the Divine Temple and Holy Church, I wonder, if a war breaks out between them, which side will you stand on? Will you side with our Divine Temple?
I suspect that the Master of the Divine Temple has not allowed you to return because of your unique status," the Purple Girl said to the Victorious Monkey.
