Rek knew that the principal of Super Soldier Academy had set a tight deadline for his Punishment hunt.
Although there were definitely easier and less dangerous Alien Species in Dark Space to kill, finding and killing ten of them within the remaining day and a half was still quite challenging.
Now, with the ability to create clones for cooperative combat, Rek was prepared to take a risk and attack the Two-Headed Lizard Variant.
After all, the danger posed by the Two-Headed Lizard Variant came from its difficulty in being detected. When you stepped on it or flew overhead on a Hover Motorcycle at a low altitude, you would be suddenly attacked by two lizard heads emerging from the Sand. The massive biting power of the Two-Headed Lizard's heads made it a deadly ambush.
Rek thought that now he was prepared and familiar with the Two-Headed Lizard's attack patterns, so as long as he was careful, he should be fine.
Once the Two-Headed Lizards exposed themselves above Ground, they became much easier to deal with.
For the three Two-Headed Lizards already discovered underground, Rek, who did not carry any ranged weapons, decided to control a small Autonomous Reconnaissance Drone for a self-destruct attack.
Rek drove his Hover Motorcycle and stopped about a hundred meters away, starting to use the Controller of the Reconnaissance Drone for remote control.
Two small Reconnaissance Drones flew high into the air and quickly headed towards three Red Fruit-like eyeball tongues in the Sand for impact.
One drone directly crashed into a Red Eyeball Tongue, causing two massive heads to burst out from beneath the Sand, quickly crushing the small reconnaissance drone. One Two-Headed Lizard had already emerged from the Sand.
The other drone crashed into one tongue and was then controlled by Rek to spin rapidly before colliding with another tongue, resulting in an explosion.
Two more Two-Headed Lizards emerged from the Sand, their large mouths roaring as their bodies rolled on the surface.
These three Five to Six Meter long Two-Headed Lizards flailed about in the Sand.
Rek felt that the moment had come. He instructed his clone to pilot the Hover Motorcycle higher before flying over to hover above these three Two-Headed Lizards.
"Clone, attack the Two-Headed Lizard Variant on your own; their necks are weak points. Be careful of other Two-Headed Lizards that may be hiding beneath the Sand for ambush." Rek commanded his clone as they both jumped off the Hover Motorcycle.
Rek and his clone, equipped with Genetic Mechs, had already deployed their Bone Blades and leaped down from the air, aiming to strike down at one of the Two-Headed Lizard's heads on the Ground.
The three Two-Headed Lizards on the Ground had already noticed Rek and his clone in mid-air. With their serrated mouths atop their massive heads, they lunged toward where Rek and his clone were about to land.
Rek and his clone quickly turned in the air, each standing on a lizard's head, as they plunged their bone blades into the neck of a Two-Headed Lizard.
The Bone Blade pierced deep into the lizard's body. Rek had no time to consume it and quickly withdrew the blade, but the other head of the lizard had already twisted around to bite at them.
"It seems the clone possesses its own combat experience and Martial Arts skills." As Rek and his clone began to fight against the Two-Headed Lizard, Rek observed that his clone's fighting techniques were very similar to his own. Moreover, during the battle, their minds were in sync, and their cooperation became increasingly seamless.
After more than ten minutes, the three Two-Headed Lizards were slain by Rek and his clone working together.
Once they had killed the Two-Headed Lizards, Rek and his clone began inserting their Genetic Mech bone blades into the lizards' corpses to quickly absorb their energy.
Before long, the three Five-to-Six-Meter-long Two-Headed Lizards were completely drained by the Genetic Mech, leaving only a thick layer of scales, skulls, and teeth behind.
Rek consumed one lizard while his clone consumed two. Rek felt that killing the Alien Species in Dark Space provided an immense energy feedback for the Genetic Mech.
Additionally, fifty percent of the energy obtained by the clone was transmitted back to Rek's main body.
Rek's body energy surged as if he had just taken a powerful tonic after receiving this massive energy boost since he had just entered Corporal Level Genetic Mech.
Rek remotely controlled his Hover Motorcycle to land and stored the skulls of the three Two-Headed Lizards in the motorcycle's storage compartment.
Just as Rek mounted the Hover Motorcycle, he noticed that the Sand Ground nearby began to tremble slightly.
Two enormous heads suddenly leaped out from the Ground, lunging directly at Rek's main body on the Hover Motorcycle.
In an urgent situation, there was no time to restart the Hover Motorcycle. Fortunately, Rek reacted quickly and jumped off the vehicle, rolling onto the sandy ground.
With a loud explosion, the Hover Motorcycle blew up, shattering into pieces. Rek and his clone rolled quickly on the Sand Ground to avoid the blast wave.
The explosion kicked up a cloud of Sand. Rek and his clone quickly stood up back-to-back in a defensive stance.
Rek saw that from where the Hover Motorcycle had been destroyed, a massive Ten-Meter-long Two-Headed Lizard lay there. One of its heads had bitten through and detonated the Hover Motorcycle, its serrated teeth shattered and bloodied head hanging down towards the Ground while the other head was staring at Rek.
The blast had attracted more air currents that swept up nearby Sand, revealing several more Two-Headed Lizards emerging from underground.
Rek counted and found that, excluding the injured ten-meter-long Two-Headed Lizard, there were still seven more ranging from five to eight meters long. These lizards had already surrounded Rek and his clone. Fifteen lizard heads, with large mouths, were directed at Rek and his clone, treating them as a meal.
"Let's go for it, clone. Cover me while I take down that injured ten-meter-long lizard head first." Without the Hover Motorcycle, Rek knew he couldn't outrun these Two-Headed Lizards on the sand; he could only withstand their attacks.
Rek and his clone moved quickly across the sand, jumping as they wielded the Ancient Blade, which continuously slashed through the air.
One by one, the lizard heads lunged at Rek and his clone.
Fortunately, the two worked well together. Rek realized that having an extra clone was like gaining an additional perspective during battle. As they fought against the lizards, Rek gradually adapted to combat with a clone.
After decapitating the ten-meter-long lizard head, Rek and his clone charged into the group of lizards.
One by one, the lizard heads fell as they battled. However, during the fight, both Rek and his clone's protective suits sustained damage. The clone's left arm was bitten by one of the lizard heads.
Luckily, Rek reacted quickly and swiftly severed the lizard head that had bitten his clone before activating the Genetic Mech's absorption ability to rapidly drain it.
An hour later, sixteen lizard heads lay scattered on the sand once again.
Rek and his clone's protective suits were severely damaged in battle, relying solely on the Genetic Mech's built-in filtering and isolation capabilities to shield against Dark Space radiation and toxic gases.
"Hurry and absorb the lizard bodies and heads. All the energy gained should be directed to the Genetic Mech to enhance its purification capabilities locally," Rek instructed his clone.
