I gently touched my forehead, where there was a small crescent-shaped scar in the upper left corner, a mark that even my mother didn't know how it appeared. It turned out to be a trace of Silver Moon saving me. I no longer found it ugly; instead, it seemed beautiful.
From then on, at every stage of my growth, Silver Moon would appear. He no longer had the stern expression he wore when he first came to the human world; instead, his smile grew warmer and more frequent.
I slowly began to accept him, enjoying holding his hand and babbling endlessly. I liked pinching his cheeks and leaving drool marks. I loved watching him and secretly giggling to myself.

"Xi Meng, you're awake?" White Soul asked.
"Yes." I was still immersed in everything I had just seen and didn't pay much attention to the changes around me.
"Watch out!" White Soul suddenly pushed me aside, instantly getting knocked down.

I hadn't even noticed what had happened!
"Who are you!" I shouted, standing guard beside White Soul.
"Hah, you don't need to know. Just understand that I am here to take the life of someone who should have never survived for so long!"
"Xi Meng, get away!" White Soul shouted.
"Hahaha, you can't escape, especially you!"
As he spoke, the Monster Voice seemed to get closer to me!

It was terrifying; I couldn't even feel where the attack came from before I was slammed against the wall.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
After several violent strikes, my body felt like a rag, only capable of suffering!
The only fortunate thing was that it seemed to be targeting me alone; White Soul was temporarily safe.
"Xi Meng!" White Soul shouted.
I felt like my soul was about to detach, and I couldn't muster any strength. Damn it, who is he!
"Die—" The cold voice mixed with terrifying laughter was about to engulf me.

A sharp hiss echoed as three snake heads lunged towards the southernmost point! The black snake head in the middle opened wide, seemingly biting onto something.
With a "thud," it spat something aside.
It was it!
The monster I saw in the illusion earlier, the shadow that wanted to kill me! It had no distinct form, just a pair of blood-red eyes. Those eyes were still fixated on me.
I always thought it was Undead; it seems I was wrong, and it has quite the background. I just don't understand why it wants to kill me so badly.
"How about now? Do you realize my power?!"
"If you kill me, none of you will escape!"
"Then let's see. There’s nothing I can't do in this world."
"Mosang, what it said is true," White Soul interjected.
"If it disappears, this place will be destroyed immediately, and we will only become Undead buried here. Unless it willingly lets us go."
"Dream on, I won't let you go!"
"Then I'll beat you until you agree!" Mosang said, stepping forward again.
"Wait, Mosang," I spoke up to stop him.
"First tell me, why do you want me dead?" I asked.
"If I say that if you don't die, Silver Moon will die, would you believe me?"
What is he talking about? What does it mean that if I don't die, Silver Moon will die? A heaviness filled my heart, making it hard to breathe.
"Don't believe him, Xi Meng," Mosang said.
No, maybe what he said is true. My presence has always brought disaster to those around me; they have all left one by one. And Silver Moon has been hurt by me countless times, yet I never realized he was the one who always protected me.
"White Soul, tell me, is what he said true? I want to hear the truth..."
"Xi Meng—" White Soul couldn't bring himself to say it, lowering his head in distress and no longer looking at me.
"Why?"
"It's not just Silver Moon; White Soul too, and all your companions will slowly leave you. Your existence is destined to bring about their deaths."
I collapsed onto the ground, my head pounding as if it would explode. Why is it like this? What should I do? If this continues, I will die.
"Xi Meng, look at me!" Mosang transformed into human form and shook my shoulders desperately.
"What he said isn't true. Even if it were, I will stay with you until the end. In the Three Realms, no one can make me disappear!" Mosang shouted repeatedly, but why can't I hear him clearly?
Mosang looked at me with a blank stare, seemingly truly angry, and suddenly pushed me aside, disdainfully saying.
"I was willing to follow you because I thought you would do anything to protect the most important person in your life, even if it meant sacrificing yourself. Mosang is right. If I have endured the impossible, why can't I continue fighting?

"Xi Meng, you will know in the future," White Soul said as he stood up with a sigh. He ignored me and left alone.
What happened to White Soul? He seemed so sad.
"Foolish woman, next time just summon me directly." Mosang said before disappearing, returning to my body.
"Thank you," I whispered my gratitude.
