Bai Residence still maintains its tranquility, but I can sense that something is quietly changing here.
Zhen'er has been in a deep sleep since returning, which is a very bad sign. Everyone knows that sleep is unnecessary here unless one is severely injured; otherwise, the issue lies in the mind. Zhen'er is not physically injured, so it is clear that she is avoiding something.
“Mosang, could you come out for a moment?” I try to be polite with Mosang, as he feels like a ticking time bomb that I cannot figure out.
“Can you tell what’s wrong with Zhen'er?”
“Hmph, her mental state has collapsed,” Mosang replies casually, leaning against the bedside.
“Is that related to you?” I cautiously ask.
Mosang seems unfazed and says, “Yes, but not entirely. Her spirit has been suppressed for a long time. After going to the ancestral hall, she had to relive all the darkness within her. Plus, her mental support was taken away by you. Do you think she can be alright?”
I, Silver Moon, and Bai Zhan are in Zhen'er's room, and Mosang’s words inevitably create an awkward atmosphere. I glance over at Silver Moon, only to find him looking back at me.
“When will Zhen'er wake up?” Bai Zhan asks.
I see Mosang bend down and gently place his hand on Zhen'er's forehead. He speaks, “She will wake up soon; however, you will need to put in some effort for her later recovery.”
“Thank you,” Bai Zhan replies with a frown.
I look at Mosang in confusion. When did that brutal and ruthless Mosang become so calm? Offering help and even giving advice? Although it was just a brief remark, it is indeed a curious change.
Seeing the seriousness in Mosang's eyes, I begin to understand that there is her essence here...
“Mosang, we will be leaving here soon. You should take some time to explore.” Don’t keep yourself sealed off; experience everything she has created.
As for cause and effect, who can explain it clearly? Mosang, punished for saving Flower Tears, escaped and took refuge in the Holy Spirit Village created by Flower Tears. However, due to Mosang's constant changes here, it remains uncertain whether this will ultimately lead to the true Holy Soul.
Mosang remained silent as she stepped out of Zhen'er’s room.
"Prince Silvermoon," Zhen'er murmured softly.
"I am here." Silvermoon took Zhen'er's hand, watching her slightly opened eyes.
"I feel unwell." The weak Zhen'er was still beautiful, her enchanting appearance evoking a desire to protect her.
"I know, you will feel better soon."
"No, I want to stay like this, so you won't leave."
Silvermoon smiled and nodded. I didn't understand what he meant; could it be that he really liked Zhen'er? After all, Zhen'er was beautiful and gentle, and most importantly, she truly cared for Silvermoon.
Thinking of this made my heart feel a bit stifled, and I quietly walked away.
The entire Bai Residence felt extremely uncomfortable, so I decided to take a walk. The Holy Spirit Village should be safe now.
I didn't even know how I ended up here, but before I knew it, I was standing in front of White Soul's mother's grave. Looking at the bracelet on my wrist, my heart ached as I remembered the deceased Bai Li.
"Madam, I'm sorry. I didn't protect him well."
"If I could, I would really like to see him again, even just once. I truly regarded Bai Li as a friend."
"And what should I do about Zhen'er?"
Perhaps because there was no one around, I spoke many words that had been weighing on my heart. Even though no one answered, it felt much better.
"Foolish woman."
Who is it?! I didn't even realize there was someone else here?!
"He's not a friend." A figure suddenly appeared in front of me; it was the Wild Ghost!
"Senior Ghost!" I greeted in a panic.
"He's not; we are." The Wild Ghost dropped these words and left me, confused, as he turned and walked away with a casual air.
That's just how the Wild Ghost is; once he decides something, it never changes. After spending so much time together, I've gradually realized that he's not hard to get along with; he just always maintains his distance.
Fortunately, we have all entered his protective range, but outsiders inevitably face his hostility. What could be the reason for such a Wild Ghost to appear?
Although my thoughts were unexpectedly interrupted, I felt much better inside. Instead of taking the long way back, I chose to take a detour, which led me through the area where most people from Holy Spirit Village live.
On the quiet street, I spotted a small child crying loudly, which immediately caught my attention.
"What's wrong, little one?" It was a little boy with pink earrings and less than half a meter tall—definitely just a child.
The boy didn't say anything; he gradually stopped crying and looked at me with some caution.
"Who are you?" Seeing his expressive face, I couldn't help but smile; there are still emotional people here.
"I am Xi Meng."
"You are Goddess Sister?" The little boy's expression changed to one of surprise as he stared wide-eyed.
I nodded and ruffled his hair.
"So, can you now tell me what's wrong?"
"But, but, it's so embarrassing."
"It's okay, I won't laugh at you."
"My mother doesn't want me anymore," the Little One said, feeling wronged again as he sniffled.
"Why not?"
"Because, because I don't have Soul Energy and I'm always bullied." A pang hit my heart as I remembered that helpless boy who once called himself useless, so desolate. Yet, that weak boy died saving me.
"So your mother kicked you out?"
The Little One hesitated for a moment and shook his head. "No, she just scolded me. I left on my own."
"Because I didn't want to be a burden to her."
I gently hugged the Little One. Thankfully, he is still young and won't harbor hatred.
