After returning to the dormitory, I repeatedly considered what the outrageous situation might entail. Intuitively, it felt more like a big trap that I was stepping into, unable to refuse. However, my instinct told me that I had to go; it was important to me. Since I had made up my mind, I decided not to think about anything else. I lay on my bed and sighed deeply; there would surely be a way when the time came. 0

After resting for a while, I stepped out of my room and slowly walked toward the Competition Venue. Along the way, I encountered many Students who kept glancing at me. To be honest, it didn't feel good at all. 0

"Xi Meng, stop right there." Of all people, I ran into the last person I wanted to see, Fire Fan. I thought it best to avoid her; I didn't want to get burned again. 0

"Hey! I've spotted you!" It was too late to hide; she blocked my path. 0

"Is there something you need?" 0

"Why are you avoiding me?" Fire Fan looked at me awkwardly. Oddly enough, she didn't seem as fierce this time; it was the first time I heard her speak without being so sharp-tongued. 0

"N-no, nothing's wrong. What's up?" I felt quite nervous myself. 0

"Hey, you seem really scared of me. Actually, I came to find you because there's something I need to discuss. Ugh, this is so annoying—how do I say this?" Fire Fan scratched her head and paced back and forth. Suddenly, she stopped and stared directly at me. 0

"Go ahead," I swallowed hard; what was going on with her? 0

"Well, um, never mind. It's nothing; I'll just leave." Fire Fan sighed and then quietly added, "Good luck in the competition," before disappearing. 0

I was left confused and decided not to dwell on it. Shaking my head, I continued toward the field. 0

"You made it, Xi Meng." Oh, it was one of the girls from our team; I still didn't know her name. She smiled warmly at me. 0

"Right! Sorry, but I don't know your name yet." 0

"Oh, right! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Xiao Xi." 0

"Nice to meet you, Xiao Xi," I replied with a smile. 0

"Xi Meng, I'm glad you're here. Come over for a moment." Nian called out to me. I nodded at Xiao Xi and said, "Let's chat later," before quickly walking over to Nian. 0

"What's up, Sister Nian?" 0

"I think we should forfeit this match. Winning is important, but none of us want anything to happen to you." 0

"It's fine, didn't my sister give me a book? It resembles the dark power of that Student from Dark Night Academy. I think they both come from the same source. If that Student is the strongest, then I still have some confidence." 0

"You mean you've already started practicing that dark power? How could it be so fast? What level are you at now?" 0

"I can only play the first piece; learning it has been quite difficult." I didn't tell her how much trouble I was facing; I was afraid she would worry. 0

Nian took a deep breath and smiled at me, saying, "It seems I don't have much to worry about for the final match. Do you think everyone is as lucky as you? Just one type of power within you is enough for someone your age to handle. Even the elders wouldn't dare to try it lightly; it's not suitable for everyone, let alone having two types at once." 0

"By the way, did you talk to Grandpa Ronda about what I mentioned last time?" I suddenly thought of it. If Tiantian really had some plan, it would be hard for me to escape later. 0

"I told him. Lord Rhonda said he's gotten used to it after so long. He wants you to focus on the competition and will bring you over once everything is arranged." 0

"Alright, let's do it as soon as possible." 0

Nian seemed to have some doubts about my words, but she didn't have time to say anything as the final match began with the host's appearance. 0

"Students, let's warmly welcome our final competitors to the stage. They are Kurozawa from Dark Night Academy and Xi Meng from Demon Emperor Silver Hall!" A wave of enthusiastic cheers erupted as I calmed my nervous heart and walked onto the stage. 0

"After discussions among all academies, the final champion will receive a reward, but we will keep this prize a secret for now and reveal it after the competition. Now, let the match begin!" 0

"Xi Meng," I spoke first. 0

"Kurozawa," he nodded. 0

"I advise you not to use that dark power anymore; your body won't be able to handle it." I chose not to attack right away. 0

"Hah, I was born for it. Without it, I would perish." Kurozawa's voice carried a hint of hidden pain. Had he already sacrificed his soul? It seemed he could only be controlled for life. 0

"Don't look at me with that expression. 'Singing for you,' please enjoy slowly." Kurozawa began to chant with a sinister smile. I was still hesitating about what to do; I had planned to use dark power against him, but his expression just now seemed off. 0

"Defense, Golden Garment." I conservatively chose defense. Kurozawa just shook his head with a smile, as if saying: you're too naive. 0

Sure enough, defense was ineffective against sound; it could only block physical attacks. 0

"Alright then, 'The Smile of the Spider Lily.'" I could only play this piece; I wouldn't be foolish enough to injure myself. A black aura instantly enveloped me; my consciousness focused solely on my opponent in front of me, with a voice in my heart shouting to kill him! Everything turned blood red. 0

Kurozawa's pupils dilated in disbelief as he looked at me and stopped chanting. It was clear he was afraid, but I couldn't stop myself. The intense Killing Intent overwhelmed me; I could only rely on Pure Sound. Kurozawa closed his eyes and struggled in pain. My Soul Power was three levels higher than his; under these circumstances, he was bound to lose. 0

At this moment, there was complete silence. Everyone was looking at the two figures on stage, even the Elders were stunned. They could all see what it meant to possess two powers at once. If such a Student could not be utilized for their own purposes, some malicious ones had already begun to plot how to seize this power. At this time, the Third Elder and Ronda whispered a few words to each other, and the expressions of all the Elders grew even more grim, but they abandoned all their previous thoughts. 0

"Try to become a target for the Demon Emperor Silver Hall, and I will ensure the annihilation of your entire clan," the Third Elder said coldly. 0

"The young girl was sent here by Lord Qiu, and I, Ronda, will protect her at all costs." Compared to the Third Elder's tone, Ronda's seemed gentler, but the mention of that esteemed figure made everyone present shudder. 0

At this moment, I was the one suffering the most. I completely lost control of myself, filled with murderous intent. I could clearly feel Kurozawa's pain and the weakening of his life force. Who would come to stop me? It felt like there were two versions of myself; 'she' was brutal. Although I was clear-headed now, I could not control 'her.' 0

The match was only declared over when Kurozawa collapsed like Chiba did before him, without applause or cheers. They were all afraid, weren't they? Even I was afraid. Gradually, I began to calm down; my body returned under my control. Looking at Kurozawa before me, my consciousness kept reminding me: you killed him, you killed him. It felt terrifyingly similar to when I had taken a life in the human realm. 0

"Go save him; you can do it." Whose voice was that? My mind was still in a haze until Nian rushed over and shook me vigorously; I looked at her in a daze. 0

"Don't be afraid, Xi Meng. This is the price you must pay for your growth; from now on, only through killing can you survive," Nian said as she held me tightly. 0

I slowly approached Kurozawa's side; he lay there with his eyes closed and his life force very weak. I tried my best to calm my heart, but my trembling hands betrayed me. Pure Sound spun around, and white light gently enveloped his body while I simultaneously drew back the dark energy into myself. But I felt terrible—very terrible. Unlike what happened with Chiba before, Kurozawa had been attacked by me and then suffered from his own backlash. I didn't know how much time passed until he slowly opened his eyes and looked at me. 0

"I'm sorry," I whispered before running away. He had survived but would never be well again; this meant that everything about him had been destroyed by me, reduced to the lowest form of ghost. Behind me, the male host announced the victory of Demon Emperor Silver Hall, followed by a round of applause. It turned out that only I cared; this place showed no regard for life—only for the strong. I did not return nor participate in the closing ceremony. 0

"Xi Meng Student, please go to Elder Hall immediately." A Male Ghost who seemed like a mentor suddenly appeared beside me. 0

"Okay, I understand." I had no interest in asking why; it seemed related to what had just happened in the match. 0
