"How much?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked. 0
"One golden finger," the system replied. 0
Hearing this, Zhang Xiaoxiao's expression instantly darkened. 0
"One golden finger? You really dare to ask for that," Zhang Xiaoxiao said through gritted teeth. 0
"What's wrong with that?" the system responded matter-of-factly. 0
"You..." Zhang Xiaoxiao was at a loss for words. 0
"What about me?" the system said innocently. 0
"A golden finger is equivalent to the system points I earn for completing a task," Zhang Xiaoxiao said indignantly. 0
"Are you saying it's too expensive?" the system asked, puzzled. 0
"Yes," Zhang Xiaoxiao admitted. 0
"You can't say it's too expensive; this price is very reasonable," the system insisted seriously. 0
"Reasonable? How so?" Zhang Xiaoxiao retorted. 0
"Think about it, if you could understand animals talking, how much gossip would you hear?" the system tempted her. 0
"This..." Zhang Xiaoxiao hesitated. 0
"Just say it, do you want to exchange?" the system asked directly. 0
"I do," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied promptly. 0
"Then that's settled," the system said happily. 0
"I'll exchange it," Zhang Xiaoxiao decided. 0
"Great, I'll process your exchange right away," the system exclaimed. 0
As soon as the system finished speaking, a blue screen panel appeared in front of Zhang Xiaoxiao. 0
The panel had two switches for golden fingers: one was "Gossip Sense," and the other was "Beast Language Translator." 0
"Dog Language Translator, exchange successful, one system point deducted," the system reminded her. 0
"Got it," Zhang Xiaoxiao responded. 0

"Go ahead and try opening it," the system urged eagerly. 0
"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied. 0
After speaking, Zhang Xiaoxiao reached out and clicked the switch for the Dog Language Translator. 0
As soon as the switch was turned on, Zhang Xiaoxiao began to hear the sounds of dog language around her. 0
"Big brother, why hasn't our owner come back yet?" 0
"I don't know." 0
"I'm so hungry." 0
"Me too." 0
"Big brother, can you think of a way?" 0
"What can I do?" 0
"How about we go outside and find something to eat?" 0
"No way, if the owner comes back and can't find us, they'll be worried." 0
"But I'm really hungry." 0
"Just hold on a little longer." 0
"Alright." 0
Zhang Xiaoxiao was momentarily stunned upon hearing the dog language. 0
"How is it? Can you understand?" the system asked impatiently. 0
"I can," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied, regaining her composure. 0
"I told you this golden finger is great," the system said proudly. 0
"It is indeed," Zhang Xiaoxiao agreed. 0
"What were they just saying?" the system asked curiously. 0
"They were talking about how Guangcai hasn't come back yet," Zhang Xiaoxiao translated. 0
"I see," the system responded with understanding. 0
"Since Guangcai isn't home, they must be hungry," Zhang Xiaoxiao speculated. 0
"That's possible," the system agreed. 0

"I'll go out and tell them," Zhang Xiaoxiao decided. 0
"What are you going to say?" the system asked curiously. 0
"Wait for Guangcai to come back, and let them find Guangcai," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied simply. 0
"Do you think they will understand what you say?" the system doubted. 0
"Of course," Zhang Xiaoxiao affirmed. 0
"Then hurry up," the system urged eagerly. 0
Zhang Xiaoxiao walked out of the house and into the yard. 0
The five dogs saw Zhang Xiaoxiao and immediately grabbed her pant leg, not letting her leave. 0
" Da Fu Da Gui, let go," Zhang Xiaoxiao commanded. 0
Upon hearing her words, Da Fu Da Gui immediately released their grip. 0
Seeing Da Fu Da Gui let go, the other three dogs followed suit. 0
"Are you all hungry?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked. 0
The five dogs wagged their tails wildly in response. 0
"Guangcai has gone far away and won't be back for ten days or half a month," Zhang Xiaoxiao said. 0
Upon hearing this, the dogs' faces wrinkled in dismay. 0
"If you miss him, you can go out and find him," Zhang Xiaoxiao suggested. 0
The five dogs looked at her with conflicted expressions. 0
"Alright, go play," Zhang Xiaoxiao said. 0
Hearing this, the dogs obediently ran off. 0
Zhang Xiaoxiao watched the five dogs leave, feeling a bit sad inside. 0
A dog's life is short, lasting only a little over a decade, while Zhao Guangcai is an eternity for them. 0
Their separation is brief, but it feels long for the dogs. 0
"Sigh!" Zhang Xiaoxiao lamented. 0
"What's wrong?" the system asked with concern. 0
"Nothing," Zhang Xiaoxiao concealed her feelings. 0

"Are you unhappy?" the system guessed. 0
"No," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied stubbornly. 0
"Don't be sad; life and death are fated, and wealth and nobility are determined by heaven," the system comforted. 0
"I know," Zhang Xiaoxiao responded. 0
"I'm glad you can think that way," the system said with relief. 0
"I'm going to cook," Zhang Xiaoxiao said. 0
"You're going to cook yourself?" the system asked in surprise. 0
"Yes," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied. 0
"You can cook?" the system asked in amazement. 0
"Of course I can," Zhang Xiaoxiao said proudly. 0
"Have you cooked before?" the system asked curiously. 0
"No," Zhang Xiaoxiao admitted honestly. 0
"Then where does your confidence come from?" the system asked disdainfully. 0
"I..." Zhang Xiaoxiao hesitated. 0
"What is it?" the system questioned. 0
"I have no confidence," Zhang Xiaoxiao confessed. 0
"No confidence, yet you dare to cook?" the system exclaimed in disbelief. 0
"I..." Zhang Xiaoxiao hesitated again. 0
"What’s wrong now?" the system asked helplessly. 0
"Guangcai didn't leave me any leftovers," Zhang Xiaoxiao said awkwardly. 0
"Why didn't Zhao Guangcai leave you any leftovers?" the system asked in confusion. 0
"Every time he finishes cooking, he eats all the leftovers," Zhang Xiaoxiao explained simply. 0
"Why does he eat the leftovers?" the system asked curiously. 0
"He worries that leftovers will spoil by the next day," Zhang Xiaoxiao understood. 0
"I see," the system acknowledged. 0

"What should I do now?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked for help. 0

"You can buy a lighter," the system suggested. 0

"A lighter?" Zhang Xiaoxiao replied, confused. 0

"Yes," the system confirmed. 0

"I can't start a fire," Zhang Xiaoxiao admitted. 0

"I'll teach you," the system said cheerfully. 0

"You can start a fire?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked in surprise. 0

"Of course I can," the system replied proudly. 0

"If you're so capable, why don't you start a fire?" Zhang Xiaoxiao joked. 0

"I'm a system; I can't start a fire," the system said helplessly. 0

"Why not?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked, puzzled. 0

"Because I don't have hands," the system lamented. 0

"I see," Zhang Xiaoxiao understood. 0

"Just as long as you know," the system said, feeling down. 0

"How much is the lighter?" Zhang Xiaoxiao inquired. 0

"It's not expensive, just one system point," the system replied casually. 0

"You're trying to earn my system points again," Zhang Xiaoxiao said helplessly. 0

"I am not," the system denied. 0

"You are," Zhang Xiaoxiao insisted. 0

"I'm just giving you a suggestion; whether to buy it or not is up to you," the system argued confidently. 0

"You..." Zhang Xiaoxiao was at a loss for words. 0

"What?" the system asked innocently. 0

"Fine, I'll buy it, okay?" Zhang Xiaoxiao compromised. 0
