That night, Zhang Xiaoxiao and Zhao Guangcai lay on a bed, both staring blankly at the beams of the ceiling. The room was pitch dark, and the silence allowed them to hear each other's breathing. 0

"Do you really not want to go to G Province with me?" Zhao Guangcai suddenly asked. 0

"Mm," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied. 0

"Why?" Zhao Guangcai asked, puzzled. 0

"I'm not used to taking the train," Zhang Xiaoxiao answered. 0

"..." Zhao Guangcai fell silent. 0

"And if I go to G Province with you, it will definitely cost a lot of money," Zhang Xiaoxiao continued. 0

"I..." Zhao Guangcai hesitated. 0

"I know you want to give me a good life, but your current capabilities are limited," Zhang Xiaoxiao confessed. 0

"I'm sorry, it's my fault for being useless," Zhao Guangcai said regretfully. 0

"It's not that you're useless; it's just that this world is inherently unfair," Zhang Xiaoxiao said calmly. 0

"Zhang Xiaoxiao, you..." Zhao Guangcai was surprised. 0

"I thought you would scold me," Zhao Guangcai continued. 0

"Why would I scold you?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked, confused. 0

"I..." Zhao Guangcai hesitated again. 0

"Is it because you think I look down on you for being poor?" Zhang Xiaoxiao raised an eyebrow. 0

"Isn't that the case?" Zhao Guangcai said dejectedly. 0

"No," Zhang Xiaoxiao denied. 0

"Really?" Zhao Guangcai asked in surprise. 0

"Mm," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied. 0

"Zhang Xiaoxiao, I will work hard to make money," Zhao Guangcai promised. 0

"I believe in you," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded. 0

"I will be back as soon as possible," Zhao Guangcai promised again. 0
"Mm," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied. 0
"Take good care of yourself," Zhao Guangcai urged with concern. 0
"I know," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded. 0
"And don't just open the door for other men. If anything happens, wait for me to come back and talk about it," Zhao Guangcai continued to advise. 0
"..." Zhang Xiaoxiao was speechless. 0
"Did you hear me?" Zhao Guangcai pressed. 0
"I heard you," Zhang Xiaoxiao said helplessly. 0
"If someone bullies you, go find the village chief," Zhao Guangcai reiterated. 0
"Okay, I remember everything," Zhang Xiaoxiao said impatiently. 0
"You..." Zhao Guangcai wanted to say more. 0
"Zhao Guangcai, why are you so long-winded?" Zhang Xiaoxiao complained. 0
"..." Zhao Guangcai fell silent. 0
"Go to sleep," Zhang Xiaoxiao said as she closed her eyes. 0
"Mm," Zhao Guangcai replied. 0
Half an hour later, Zhang Xiaoxiao had fallen asleep. 0
However, Zhao Guangcai couldn't sleep at all; he turned on his side and stared at Zhang Xiaoxiao, his gaze gentle and focused. 0
Suddenly, Zhang Xiaoxiao turned over, her hand landing on Zhao Guangcai's cheek. 0
"..." Zhao Guangcai was stunned. 0
He didn't expect Zhang Xiaoxiao to touch him suddenly; although it was just an unconscious action, it made his heart race. 0
"Zhao Guangcai, good night," Zhang Xiaoxiao mumbled drowsily. 0
"..." Zhao Guangcai was once again taken aback. 0
A silly smile spread across his face, and he felt sweet inside, like he had eaten honey. 0
[Villain Affection Level +10, current affection level 70.] 0
[Zhang Xiaoxiao, when the Villain Affection Level reaches eighty, you will unlock the first plot point.] the system reminded him. 0

"Oh," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied. 0

"Are you not happy?" the system asked in confusion. 0

"I'm just here to complete the task. Sooner or later, I have to leave the villain, so I shouldn't get too attached to him," Zhang Xiaoxiao said calmly. 0

... 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao's mood suddenly became heavy. She didn't know when she would be able to raise the villain's favorability to the maximum, earn three plot points, and return to the real world. 0

Zhao Guangcai noticed that Zhang Xiaoxiao seemed a bit down. He moved closer to her, their distance almost nonexistent. 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao could clearly feel Zhao Guangcai's warm breath, and her heart began to race uncontrollably. 0

"Zhang Xiaoxiao, what are you thinking about?" Zhao Guangcai asked softly. 0

"Nothing," Zhang Xiaoxiao shook her head. 0

"It seems like your mood suddenly got worse," Zhao Guangcai said with concern. 0

"No, I was just thinking about how boring it will be at home after you leave," Zhang Xiaoxiao said, trying to sound casual. 0

"I see..." Zhao Guangcai pondered. 0

"Yeah," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied. 0

"I'll ask Shih Sheng tomorrow if you can help out at the bookstore occasionally," Zhao Guangcai suggested after a moment of thought. 0

"That sounds great," Zhang Xiaoxiao said happily. 0

"Then you won't be bored," Zhao Guangcai smiled. 0

"Mm-hmm," Zhang Xiaoxiao responded. 0

"Go to sleep now," Zhao Guangcai said. 0

"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied. 0

The next morning, after waking up, Zhang Xiaoxiao found that Zhao Guangcai was already awake. 0

He was about to get out of bed but noticed that Zhang Xiaoxiao was still sleeping. He instinctively tried to move quietly, afraid of waking her up. 0

When he realized that Zhang Xiaoxiao hadn't snuggled into his arms as usual, his lips turned downward slightly, feeling a bit unhappy. 0

However, this emotion passed quickly. He gently lifted the blanket and gave Zhang Xiaoxiao a light kiss before getting up and leaving the room. 0

Although Zhang Xiaoxiao pretended to be asleep, she couldn't control her heartbeat; that kiss made her heart race. 0
