In fact, Richelieu did not mind Saratoga arranging her in front of Admiral, even if it meant that Saratoga was encouraging Admiral to dismiss her; Richelieu felt no displeasure at all.
Having been a part of the former Naval Base's main fleet and having worked with Saratoga for so long, she understood her well. To put it bluntly, Saratoga was a girl with a sharp tongue but a soft heart. Despite her insistence that Chuyang should dismiss Richelieu, when Chuyang actually considered doing so, she would be the first to oppose it.
Richelieu had a lot to move. The furniture in the two-story building in the churchyard was all purchased by her over the years, and she had grown accustomed to using it, so she needed to take everything with her.
Fortunately, aside from Chuyang, everyone else was Fleet Girls. What seemed exceptionally heavy furniture like sofas to ordinary people was not a problem for them at all.
However, during the moving process, when Chuyang saw Richelieu bringing down four large wardrobes from the second floor, he momentarily felt bewildered.
This was because all four wardrobes were filled with various clothes, shoes, and bags. Most of them were unopened, and the tags were still attached.
Could it be that Richelieu was running a clothing wholesale business? Otherwise, how could she have so many clothes?
But Richelieu's answer left Chuyang feeling quite frustrated. Although he wasn't very familiar with women's fashion brands in this world, he had picked up on a few luxury brands through Lexington's influence. Each piece from these top brands was quite expensive.
Now, nearly half of the clothes in those four wardrobes bore logos identical to those brands.
Could he really afford Richelieu?
Despite being an Admiral, Chuyang's salary was far from what ordinary people imagined; what was truly valuable were the four resources issued by Naval Headquarters. He wasn't like those who only had one or two Destroyer Girls under their command. Even if they sent out Fleet Girls from Naval Base every day, they would still have a significant surplus of resources by the end of the month. At that point, they could sell them at high prices on the black market.
But what about Chuyang? Looking at his Fleet Girls—whether it was Lexington, Saratoga, or Richelieu—they were all significant consumers. With just the resources he could receive as a Lieutenant Junior Grade Admiral each month, he wouldn't even have enough left over; if things went poorly, he might end up having to seal off the port by the end of the month.
So, relying solely on that little salary, Chuyang couldn't even afford to buy Richelieu a piece of clothing like that...
"Brother-in-law, Richelieu is really rich! I wonder if you can afford to support her in the future?" They say Sister-in-law is the most considerate, and sure enough, Saratoga directly voiced what was on her mind.
"Well, I should be able to support her, right?" Chuyang was also a bit uncertain. If Richelieu was truly as he imagined—a complete spendthrift—he really wouldn't be able to afford her.
Speaking of which, Sister-in-law is much easier to support. Compared to the top-brand outfits of Lexington and Richelieu, Saratoga, dressed in cheap goods from the market, really looked no different from a country girl.
"If you can afford it, then Brother-in-law, buy me one of those too!" Saratoga said disdainfully.
"..." Chuyang was speechless. If he could truly afford it, would he still be struggling with this?
"Forget it, who told me I'm your Sister-in-law!" Saying this, Saratoga directly called out to Richelieu, who was moving things outside.
"Admiral, what's wrong?"
"Um, this..." Chuyang really didn't know how to start. As an Admiral, not being able to support his Fleet Girls would be a huge joke for anyone who heard it.
"I'll say it!" Saratoga interrupted Chuyang and thought for a moment before saying, "Richelieu, the previous Naval Base is gone. It's not like before; Brother-in-law can't get that many resources or money now. So could you please stop buying so many expensive clothes in the future?"
"Is the Admiral worried about not being able to support me?" Richelieu didn't answer Saratoga's question but directly looked at Chuyang.
"Yeah." Chuyang nodded. Although he was reluctant to admit it, it was the truth. Rather than lying and deceiving Richelieu, it was better to speak the truth.
"You know, I just recently became a formal Admiral again, and the Naval Base is still in its early stages. There are many places that need funding, so..."
"Saratoga." Before Chuyang could finish, Richelieu directly produced a knight's sword, but the target was not Chuyang; it was Saratoga.
"Do you think it's fun to play with an Admiral like this? Or is your rear end itching again?"
"Uh, brother-in-law, I'm going to move some things." Saratoga stuck out her tongue and obediently picked up the large box that Richelieu had just placed on the ground, walking towards the church.
After giving Chuyang a light huff, Richelieu turned and left.
"Did I just get played?" Chuyang felt a bit dazed.
"Yes! Admiral, you were played by Jaja." Isuzu, passing by, explained: "For us Fleet Girls, if you marry a chicken, you follow the chicken; if you marry a dog, you follow the dog. Even if you marry a monkey running around the mountains, everyone will only accompany you to beg on the street if you're a beggar. So you really don't have to worry about Richelieu making any unreasonable demands. Of course, Admiral, you're neither a chicken nor a dog, so it's even less likely that you're a monkey or a beggar."
".........." Chuyang's mouth twitched. He wasn't angry because he was played by his sister-in-law; he was frustrated because he had heard similar words from his Fleet Girls' instructor during class at the Naval Academy. How did he not remember that? He was still foolishly pondering whether he could support Richelieu.
At the same time, a deep sense of guilt arose within Chuyang. Just because they were his Fleet Girls from the game back then, they followed him wholeheartedly. Yet he couldn't help them on the battlefield and instead dragged them down in life.
Take Lexington for example; before she met him, she lived in the finest mansion with chauffeur service and enjoyed a carefree life. But after following him? She had to squeeze onto trains, stay in ordinary hotels, take care of everyone's daily needs, and even use her own savings to support this poor Admiral...
As noon approached, Chuyang and his group finally returned to the Naval Base. However, before they could unload Richelieu's belongings from the car, two guests arrived at the Naval Base.
