I was taken aback for a moment, then jumped up as if electrocuted, throwing off the brocade quilt covering me. Pointing at my own nose, I incredulously asked, "What did you say? I am you... your wife?!" 0

I looked around; the luxurious furnishings and spacious area all showcased the noble identity of the room's owner. However, everything felt out of place for me. I felt uncomfortable, like a butterfly that had accidentally wandered into a spider's web, anxious and restless. 0

Xuan Shang Jun watched my exaggerated reaction with a slight, barely noticeable smirk that quickly vanished. "What's wrong? Doesn't it seem like it?" His tone was flat, revealing no hint of emotion. 0

"Not just doesn't it seem like it; it's simply absurd!" I glared at him, hands on my hips, resembling an irate little cat with its fur bristled. "I am the noble princess of Abyss Realm. How could I marry someone like you..." 0

I intended to say "demon," but the words caught in my throat. After all, I was on his territory, unfamiliar with my surroundings; it was better not to be too reckless. 0

"Oh? Then why does Your Highness think you are here?" Xuan Shang Jun asked nonchalantly, leaning back against the wall and watching me as if I were part of an interesting play. 0

His question left me speechless; I couldn't possibly say I fell from the sky, could I? But how did I end up in the Demon Realm and faint here? I had no recollection at all. 0

"I..." I stammered, unable to articulate anything coherent for a long time. Frustrated, I raked my fingers through my hair, my delicate brows knitting together like a child at a loss. 0

Xuan Shang Jun observed my expression without revealing his thoughts, already forming some guesses. It seemed that I truly had no memory of what happened. 0

He stood up and walked to the window, hands clasped behind his back as he gazed at the swirling demonic clouds outside. His voice was deep and distant: "Since you don't remember, then stay here and Mangmang recall." 0

Upon hearing this, I abruptly looked up, my eyes filled with caution and wariness. "What do you want?" 0

"What could I possibly do to you?" Xuan Shang Jun turned around, his gaze sharp as he fixed it on me. "You are my queen." 0

I felt a chill run down my spine as he looked at me, instinctively taking a step back until my back pressed against the cold wall, leaving me with nowhere to retreat. 0

"Y-You... don't come any closer!" I warned him, staring at him with caution, my hands pressed against my chest like a frightened little deer. 0

"Heh." Xuan Shang Jun chuckled lightly, raising an eyebrow with a hint of mockery in his tone. "Is the Queen afraid of me?" 0

"W-Who... who is afraid?!" I retorted stubbornly, but I couldn't meet his gaze; my eyes flickered, clearly lacking confidence. 0

Xuan Shang Jun didn't expose me; he simply instructed calmly, "Someone, assist the Queen with her change of clothes." With that, he turned and left the chamber. 0

Watching his retreating figure, I silently cursed in my heart: This person is truly unpredictable. One moment he's smiling warmly, and the next he's as cold as ice—more difficult to read than the weather in June! 0

Several demon maids filed in. Their appearances were no different from those of the human race in the Abyss Realm, except their skin was paler and their eyes deeper in color, mostly purple or blue, giving them a mysterious and enchanting look. 0

"Your Majesty, please forgive us for our intrusion," the maids said respectfully as they bowed before stepping forward to assist me with changing clothes. 0

I frowned at the strange garments they held. "What is this? What are you going to do?" 0

"Replying to Your Majesty, this is the unique Cloud Brocade of the Demon Realm, woven from Demon Silk. It is lightweight and breathable, warm in winter and cool in summer—perfect for someone of your esteemed status," one maid explained while carefully helping me into a purple Cloud Brocade gown. 0

Looking at myself in the mirror, I couldn't help but be stunned. The gown was light and flowing, accentuating my delicate features; however, the color was too vibrant for my taste, making me feel somewhat out of place. 0

"This... this is too..." I wanted to say "too exaggerated," but I was afraid of offending the maids. After all, I was currently under someone else's roof, so it was better to keep a low profile. 0

"The Queen is naturally beautiful; she looks good in anything," the maids giggled behind their hands, their eyes filled with admiration. 0

I felt a bit embarrassed by their compliments and had to change the subject. "Um... does the Demon Lord usually act like this?" 0

The maids exchanged glances, seeming a bit hesitant. 0

One of the maids mustered her courage to ask, "Which aspect does the Queen refer to?" 0

"Well... it's just him..." I was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure how to describe him. 0

"The Demon Lord is known for his cold demeanor and rarely smiles; this is common knowledge in the Demon Realm," another maid chimed in. 0

I nodded thoughtfully. It seemed that this Demon Lord was indeed a difficult character to deal with! 0
