A cold smile curled at the corners of my mouth. "Su Fei'er, is this your plan? To use this man against me?"
Su Fei'er’s expression stiffened, her eyes flickering as she forced herself to remain calm. "What are you talking about? I don't understand!"
"At this point, are you still going to put on an act?" Lu Jingchen looked coldly at Su Fei'er, his tone filled with disappointment and disgust.
The dim light in the warehouse illuminated Su Fe'er's pale face as she bit her lip, remaining silent.
"Get moving!" The man waved his hand impatiently, and the black-clad figures behind him immediately closed in on me and Lu Jingchen.
Lu Jingchen shielded me behind him, his gaze sharp as he scanned the surrounding black-clad figures. Although the warehouse was large, the enemy was numerous, making it difficult to escape unscathed.
"Don't worry." I gently patted Lu Jingchen's hand to reassure him.
In the next moment, my figure vanished like a ghost, and when I reappeared, I was already standing behind the closest black-clad man.
"Bang!"
With a dull thud, the black-clad man hadn’t even reacted before I kicked him away, sending him crashing heavily into the shelves behind.
Seeing this, the other black-clad figures brandished their weapons and charged at me.
I moved nimbly, like a butterfly dancing through the air, weaving effortlessly among the black-clad men. Each strike was clean and lethal. Soon, the ground was littered with moaning black-clad figures.
The man looked at the scene before him, his eyes filled with shock and disbelief. He never expected that this seemingly fragile girl possessed such immense strength!
Lu Jingchen was also stunned by my skills. He had always known I was intelligent and capable, but he didn't realize my combat abilities were so formidable. Standing to the side, he watched as I took down the black-clad men one by one like a war god, a sense of inexplicable pride swelling within him.
"Who... who are you?" the man stammered, pointing at me with a trembling voice.
I clapped my hands to shake off the dust and coldly looked at him. "You're not worthy to know."
"You..." The man, humiliated and furious, pulled a dagger from his waist and lunged at me viciously. "I'm going to kill you!"
I had already anticipated his move. I sidestepped his attack and struck his wrist with a knifehand, causing the dagger to clatter to the ground.
The man clutched his wrist in pain, and before he could react, I kicked him down to the ground, pressing my knee against his chest. Coldly, I asked, "Tell me, who sent you to do this?"
He struggled to get up but was firmly pinned down by me, unable to move. Looking up at my icy gaze, a flicker of fear crossed his eyes, but he stubbornly replied, "I... I can't say..."
"Can't say?" I increased the pressure, and he immediately felt a sharp pain in his chest and difficulty breathing. "Do you think not saying anything will save you?"
"Xinghe, stop wasting time with him. Let's call the police," Lu Jingchen said as he stepped forward and pulled me behind him.
"Okay." I nodded and took out my phone from my pocket, just as the warehouse door was suddenly burst open from the outside. A group of uniformed police officers rushed in.
"Police! Everyone freeze!"
The man turned pale when he saw the police. He struggled to escape but was quickly caught by the swift officer and pinned to the ground.
Seeing this scene, Su Fei'er realized her plan had completely failed. Her face turned white, her legs went weak, and she collapsed on the ground, her eyes vacant, lost in thought.
Looking at Su Fei'er in this state, I felt no sympathy or pity, only endless disappointment and disgust.
The police took the man and Su Fei'er away, and the warehouse returned to silence.
Lu Jingchen and I stood side by side, gazing at the empty warehouse, our hearts filled with mixed emotions.
"Thank you, Xinghe," Lu Jingchen turned to me, his eyes full of gratitude and tenderness. "If it weren't for you, today we..."
I interrupted Lu Jingchen, "We're a couple; it's what I should do."
Lu Jingchen was momentarily taken aback, then a happy smile spread across his face as he pulled me into his embrace.
I did not resist Lu Jingchen's hug, resting my head gently on his shoulder, feeling his warmth and strength.
In that moment, I felt I was no longer alone. I had a partner, family, and friends. I was no longer that lonely little girl; I could bravely face any challenge and pursue my own happiness.
As night deepened, Xinhie City remained bright with lights and bustling with traffic. Lu Jingchen and I walked hand in hand through the vibrant streets, our shadows stretching long under the streetlights...
