One Egg hurriedly finished the homework, slung the wooden bow over his shoulder, and took out the treasured Sugar Balls, sunflower seeds, and peanuts from the cabinet to put in his pocket. 0

Yezhi knew without asking that this was for Wolf Child. "Sister Ye, let's go!" One Egg dashed out the door first. "Oh! You little rascal, where are you rushing off to?" One Egg was knocked to the ground by One Egg. Yezhi quickly helped One Egg up. "Red Sister, are you okay? One Egg and I are going to pick some wild fruits in the nearby forest!" 0

"Has that big belly of Black Treasure eaten all the wild fruits again?" Red Sister laughed at the thought of Black Treasure's gluttonous appearance. "Yezhi, next time just let me know, and I'll have One Egg bring some to you. After all, he’s hardly home; it’s better to give him something productive to do than let him play around all day!" As she spoke, Red Sister pinched One Egg. 0

"Mom! It hurts! It hurts! It hurts!" One Egg shouted in a rough voice. 0

"It hurts! My backside hurts even more!" Red Sister replied angrily. Yezhi, standing aside, watched the interaction between One Egg and his mother and covered her mouth to stifle a laugh. 0

One Egg rubbed his arm where his mother had pinched him and muttered, "Sister Ye, you’re enjoying this..." 0

"It seems like One Egg has been studying seriously; he can even use idioms now!" This made One Egg feel embarrassed. Before the farming break, during the dictation test, he and Dogzi were the only ones who didn’t do well. He learned idioms from a Comic Book, which had really fascinating stories about them! 0

"Sister Ye, you're making fun of me! I don’t know why I keep forgetting my lines!" One Egg said, pulling at his hair in frustration. In fact, Xiao Cheng had talked to her about these kids' studies; they weren’t unmotivated but simply uninterested in rote memorization. 0

"Sister Ye, why can't the texts be illustrated like in a Comic Book? That would make learning so much more fun!" One Egg turned around to complain to Yezhi. 0

Yezhi lifted her foot and kicked One Egg in the rear. "Dream on! Watch where you're going; don’t stray off!" 0

One Egg brushed off the footprints on his pants and thought to himself: Sister Ye is so violent; how gentle is Teacher Xiao? If those two were together, wouldn’t our beloved Teacher Xiao be tormented by Sister Ye every day? He’d end up with a black eye! No way! He needed to discuss with Dogzi and Er Zhu how to save Teacher Xiao! With his imaginative mind, One Egg added another worry to his list! 0

Standing oddly on the slope, distracted while leading the way, Yezhi moved in front of him and called out to Xiao Fang, who then took over as the guide. Their pace immediately quickened significantly. 0

The two climbed the slope and walked deeper into the forest, feeling increasingly cold. Yezhi couldn't help but rub her arms; it seemed Aunt Zhou hadn't exaggerated, as the weather had indeed turned cold. 0

After passing through a Red Pine Forest, they arrived at the edge of a stream. Yezhi pressed the communicator around her neck and called out, "Wolf Child... Wolf Child..." Her voice created ripples of light blue sound waves that spread into the dense woods. 0

"Sister Ye, I have plenty of breath, let me call!" One Egg said, gathering his strength and preparing to shout. Yezhi interrupted, "One Egg, no need! Wolf Child is coming!" One Egg bounced around, muttering, "Where? Where?" 0

After reviewing the images sent back by Xiao Fang, Yezhi sat down on a large stone by the stream to rest. Xiao Fang retracted its exploratory glow and sat beside its owner. "Master, I told Xingli that we would be closing for two months!" 0

Yezhi raised an eyebrow; Xiao Fang was quite talkative. "Did Xingli say anything?" Xiao Fang shook its head. "Xingli hadn't spoken yet when Brother Bai arrived. Master, ask Wolf Child to help gather some Kiwi! Brother Bai cleared out all the Kiwis by himself!" 0

"Then we would have made quite a profit!" Yezhi exclaimed happily. Xiao Fang pouted; there was no profit to be had. It was all because of the friendship card and the discounted price—essentially giving it away. The only consolation was that it was limited to personal use. 0

"Sister Ye, Little Sister, has she come or not?" One Egg asked in confusion: Sister Ye had only called out two or three times; how could she be sure Little Sister had heard and was coming toward the stream? 0

"She’s here!" Indeed, footsteps could be heard rustling through the forest, and soon a dark figure appeared before them—it was Wolf Child. 0

"Wolf Child!" Yezhi waved enthusiastically at her while One Egg bounced excitedly and called out, "Little Sister, I’m Egg Brother! I came to see you!" 0

Egg Brother! What kind of title was that? Wolf Child looked at Yezhi for clarification. "Egg Brother is just like how I call you Wolf Child; it's a nickname!" After pulling Wolf Child down to sit with her, Yezhi explained. 0

"Oh, I understand! Where's Black Treasure?" Although Wolf Child didn't speak, Yezhi could tell from her expression what she meant. 0

"Black Treasure didn’t come; he went to wash his hands. I brought you some food!" Wolf Child's big eyes lit up instantly. One Egg, not wanting to be left out, leaned in and sweetly said, "Little Sister, I brought you Sugar Balls." Wolf Child was particularly sensitive to the mention of Sugar Balls and smiled widely at this "Egg Brother" who had them. This delighted One Egg as he pulled out Sugar Balls, sunflower seeds, and peanuts from his pocket and stuffed them into Wolf Child's arms. Seeing that this "Egg Brother" had given her favorite Sugar Balls made Wolf Child beam with joy, and she became much friendlier toward One Egg as well. 0

"Master, Wolf Child is smiling at One Egg, right?" Yezhi nodded. Candy is truly a powerful tool to win over children; just a few Sugar Balls made Wolf Child treat One Egg kindly. 0

While Wolf Child went to the creek to wash her hands, Yezhi opened her hand and asked One Egg for a royalty fee. "Sister Ye, what's a royalty fee?" Despite considering herself humorous, One Egg simply didn't understand. Xiao Fang covered her mouth and chuckled; it was rare to see the master at a loss. 0

After washing her hands, Wolf Child took back the Sugar Balls and sunflower seeds from Yezhi. With her small, dark hands covered in calluses, she held the food, unsure where to put it, and let out a couple of "ah ah" sounds. 0

"Here, Wolf Child, put it in my bag; this Cloth Bag is a gift for you!" Yezhi took off her crossbody Cloth Bag and opened it. Wolf Child's face lit up with joy as she revealed her white teeth. 0

Yezhi took out an Azure Rice Ball for Wolf Child. As she took a bite, Wolf Child wondered how humans had so many strange foods. One Egg picked up a Pickled Radish and opened her mouth wide: "Ah!" Seeing One Egg's reaction without any response from Wolf Child made Yezhi burst into laughter. Little Sister wasn't supportive, so One Egg tossed the pickled radish into her mouth and chewed vigorously. 0

"Wolf Child, I'm going on a long trip and won't be able to see you for a while. If you need anything, go to the crowded place at the foot of the mountain and find One Egg, Zhou Yidan." 0

While busy peeling sunflower seeds and peanuts, One Egg patted her chest and said, "Right! If you need anything, find Egg Brother; if you don't need anything, you can still come play with Egg Brother!" 0

Wolf Child lowered her head, fiddling with the rice ball, constantly pinching it apart and pressing it together as if she were having fun. However, Yezhi knew from the feedback from the Pet Communicator that Wolf Child was not happy at that moment. 0

"Wolf Child, I will be back soon. When I do, I'll bring all kinds of candy you like." Knowing that Yezhi would return soon with candy lifted Wolf Child's spirits a bit. Just then, howls echoed through the dense forest; her companions were calling for her. Yezhi helped Wolf Child put on the Cloth Bag while One Egg hurriedly packed the peeled sunflower seeds and peanuts into Little Sister's Cloth Bag. 0

Wolf Child looked deeply at Yezhi and One Egg before turning to leave. Her small figure quickly disappeared into the dim depths of the forest. With a sorrowful expression, One Egg asked softly, "Sister Ye, when can we bring Little Sister home? I feel sad." Yezhi felt sad too; she had asked before but Wolf Child understood nothing. It would be pointless to explain; perhaps it just wasn't the right time yet! 0
